How loud is it to drive over long distances. It sounds lovely but a lot of people say it's annoying to drive over long distances because of the noise when you have a decat.
Depends on the backbox. The Cobra race version is the one to stay away from as it does drone on motorways. The Cobalt is loud but drones less. The BBR street box is probably the best suited for a sporty noise but no drone, I can’t speak for other makes but I’ve used all 3 mentioned.

What is the actual noise limit on how loud an exhaust can be in the uk? I want to get a nc but was thinking of something else that sounds better in stock form to not have problems with the mot
Thanks for the question fella. I’m not an MOTer so can only answer from experience and speaking with others. As far as I know there is not a decibel limit like there is on UK tracks. The tester however does have the power to give advisories for noise if in their opinion it’s too loud and the exhaust system must be present in its entirety. My system is very loud and I have had warnings on track before however I’ve never had a issue at MOT.
What is your installation in detail ? I have BBK + stock midpip + 4-2-1 header ( all is il Motorsport ) do you change your midpipe ? Do you have problème with technical contrôle ?
Maxence Dauptain This video the spec is, BBR manifold with 200 cell mid pipe and cobra free flow race type back box. Cat has gone from manifold and also a full re map to match. No warning lights on dash and no other issues.
io504 when this was took it was running 200 BBR kit, so cams exhaust and a map plus lightened flywheel and stage 3 clutch. It’s now supercharged checkout my other videos 👍
io504 200 kit was really good, great power rite through the Rev range but had it fitted 3 years ago and wanted forced induction. Cams are still fitted now with the Corten Miller Supercharger which I’ve been told is the same as the Kraftwerk if you are in the US.

Daniel Phillips yes I have. Firstly though it’s not just the back box, I have 4-1 manifold plus 200 cell mid pipe which is not compliant on some tracks. With just the back box though you will be fine.
Malcom Xpat coilovers cost around 750 ish maybe a little more now. Then on top of that cost of fitting if your not doing it yourself. That’ll probably be around 200 including getting them set up correctly

Malcom Xpat yea it’s mainly the NC1 that sits high although all NC do benefit from being lower. If you didn’t want the expense of coil overs lowering springs do a good job of lowering and are a lot cheaper.

Marcin Kuźma it still meets the emission test. It does have a cat, it’s in the mid pipe a 200 cel one. The heat shield is still in place so you can’t see if it’s there or not, testers aren’t allowed to remove anything so if he can’t see past the heat shield he can’t see if it’s present or not so as long as it passes emissions boom it’s a pass. If you want to keep your main cat on BBR now do a manifold with one in place however being mindful the cat on the NC is the most restrictive part so you really need it removing if you want real improvements from both torque and power.
Mezmoh hi, they are team dynamics 1:2 with 7.5j and 0 off set. Tyres at that time would have been federal 595rs but I’m using toyo 888 at the moment as they offer more feel and grip.
I had to slightly tap the rear arches in, no big deal, but that’s because the off set 0, is custom made. If you go for 42 or similar it’ll be a straight fit.

It’s a rare optional pack from the factory. Comes with front spoiler was called the appearance pack as an option.

Carvin Kwan you can still get the 200 kit no probs, mine just has a different back box than BBRs. Mine is the cobra race back box
