Nice idea and build, but wouldn't the tearing of the sandpaper across the edge of the ruler cause the edge to become rounded making it less effective for cutting?
Probably, but I think it would take a long time. The paper is slid in with the back side up, so the abrasive isn't in direct contact with the edge of the ruler. Also most sandpaper tend to break when bent in a small enough radius, like it does when it's teared off against the ruler, so the force applied to the edge isn't that high. I think the ruler will last for a really long time.
Beautiful work as usual! How did you make your table saw cutting guide? The T shape one? And how did you make your right angled drill guide? They look simple and quite useful. And you always make the simple tools so elegant! Thanks!

刃が磨耗しない、のは、金属ものさしを当ててひきちぎるので 刃がないから磨耗しないのも当たり前ってつっこんじゃったです。蝶番を使って金属物差しを稼動式にしたほうが利便性が高いかも。 あと、作業が丁寧できれいですね。見習いたいです

規格化した治具を作るときにも便利なんですよ。
例えばサンドペーパーの1/3サイズのサンダーブロックを作った場合など・・・
サンドペーパーをただカットするだけにしてはコストかけ過ぎじゃない⁈
2、3回折ったら手で切れますよね…

Don, it is a ruler from a Daiso store, costing 100¥ (108¥ total). That is less than 1US$ including sales tax. So buy two of them if you like.
