Nah... hall of fame in theory is supposed to be a testament so like say 1000 years from now us brilliant totally not bloodthirsty caring empathetic peace loving humans don't destroy ourselves with our nuclear toys and all that... 1000 years from now... if pro wrestling is long extinct... people of that day will walk into a place and find info and artifacts and antiques saying that in the 19th 20th 21st Yada Yada centuries we had an...uh... personally I'd want to call it a sport but I'm a "navy blue, black or white wool wrestling trunks" and "the only acceptable gimmick is a black or white mask" type wrestling fan and i recognize alot of folks might not like to have it called a sport. But it wouldn't be right to call it just a "business" so maybe "enterprise."
So in our time we had an enterprise and these were the icons
.. Lou Thesz, George Hackenschmidt, Frank Gotch, Stanislaus Zybszko, El Santo, Rikidozan..... Sid Vicious?

I'm not a big fan of Conrad Thompson, but he elaborated more on the softball thing. Apparently Sid was the guy that put the whole team together so he didn't just play softball. He also wanted to be with his family and didn't want to be on the road for 300 days a year. From what I gathered, when it came to the fans and regular people, he was very selfless.

As someone recovering from herniated discs in the lower back, L5 and I can't remember 4 or 6, it's been a while which caused some intense sciatica, get well soon Kev, wouldn't wish sciatica plus the back pain on anybody.

Let’s bash the angle of a photo of a “thumbs up” as if he was posing on top of the tombstones, while not saying shit about the “active” president ignoring the families invitation to attend so he can lay on a beach. He’s the very reason they’re dead. I guess he didn’t want to check his watch again.
Or let’s not mention the current VP who was also invited and was 4 miles away in her VP mansion but couldn’t be bothered to show up. Almost as if it was some kind of interview or something.
I tuned in to hear about Sid, from someone who intimately knew him, not to listen to partisan cheap shots because the hosts are “edgy” and “cool”. No wonder I gave up on this show a long time ago.
I’m glad to know it was the right move and the next time there’s an episode about someone’s passing, I’ll know to listen to another podcast for their stories.
    Pathetic.

Sid was right.. Diesel was given the Hogan spot in 1994/1995 and it didnt draw well. Sid was better as a heel/tweener. Not everyone can work as a cookie cutter white meat babyface like Hogan/Bret

I agree with Kev, the Sid/softball stuff is so lame. Feels like we’re all calling Sid a bad worker when we talk about that. And nobody really knows, we weren’t Sid’s employers. He had a hobby, so what. Wrestling companies also were terrible to the workers in many ways. It went both ways. RIP Sid.

Post-Skyscrapers, Sid should have been a stand alone heel being built up as the guy to dethrone Sting for the title down the road - much like Vader in 92 - rather than being in the Horsemen where he was nearly as an awkward fit as Paul Roma and did almost nothing of note other than nearly killing Pillman in War Games.
