I think the synergy between Mamoswine and Paradox Rift Garganacl is being underrated. That is a strong acceleration option that pushes the damage of the attack.
Always love seeing these First Impressions videos to remind myself of what cards look interesting! One thing that could have been nice to touch on (although i can't say with 100% certainty that it will be the correct way to build it, since bench space is the main problem with this build) is the idea of playing N's Zoroark with Pecharunt ex and Binding Mochi, allowing you to ditch N's Castle in favor of Artazon to get your Darumakas/Reshiram in play easier, and giving you a +40 that can be pretty relevant with some attack, since you can ko small basics with Pilfer to disrupt their setup even further, hit 210 with Reshiram to ko other important basic ex mons, and allowing Crackling Shot to deal at least significant chip damage (for a total of 200 with darmanitan which could be useful against Lillie's Clefairy, or 280 with Reshiram which could be good in the mirror)
Waillord is pretty nuts. 240HP and a 1 prizer is pretty nuts and could combo well with an insane amount of deck. Reversal energy also works for it as well.
Purrlion Pilfer also seems pretty good early game taking away Arvens, Sada's, candy's and more just to slow your opponent down before they set up. Seems especially damaging with an Eri or Xerosics. Could be done pretty easily too given how easy and consistent Zoroark will be to set up. The chip damage and turns bought could make up for the lower damage output
Great video Joe! I did see you around at Birmi, happy to have made day 2 with archy at my first ever regional :) I'm exited to try it with the hop package for the next format, shame it is HOP... 😂
I’m seeing a lot of the same comments about how hop and N have so much more then Lillie and Iono but at first glance N & Hope are there own separate decks like buzzrock and Mew Vmax, but Lillie and iono can make there decks work with more of the cards that are in the current format. Like the clefairy I was thinking of pairing it with Klefki when I first saw it allowing the deck to set up correctly and thorns in the Iono decks since there is going to be the generators ability lock and the added bonus of moving the energy around keeping it in play. But that’s how I see it. I think they did a good job with the balancing of the deck archetypes
I think the format right after rotation will be dragapult's playground, the decklist will change so little and it can still abuse budew, it will be a deck that works too well due to how familiar people who play it are with the playstyle. Until people find the right builds for stuff like charizard, bolt, archaludon and so on, and then add in hop and n decks to see what happens, we will have a format, but i do think a month or so of dragapult taking most top 8 spots at tournaments is very possible
@@blukins8 no doubt it remains really strong, but we do have a few archetypes that can check it nicely with heal and now with N zoro and clefairy we have some more ohko matchups to worry about
Does Lunatone work against jamming tower for Lillie's pearl? The wording is weird so I'm unsure if jamming tower would turn off the tool before Lunatone gets involved, because jamming tower targets the tool itself not the effect. I would love for it to work in Clefairy's favor, so hoping the ruling works in it's favor!
I just don't like how forced Hop is here. Lillie and Iono don't really have the cards to link it all together as their own strategies, N just seems like a weird pile, while Hop is over here getting a ton of good cards (Zacian, Hop's Bag, all of the damage scaling options, etc.) and is also getting another ex in the next Gym pack. They should really focus on allowing the other trainers to at least stand a chance compared to Hop.
This is a surface level take. It’s not forced because it doesn’t have existing support like the others already do. Hop’s Pokémon have more general tech potential similar to some sp Pokémon did and it’s not a coincidence that we got Dubwool with the same ability as luxray gl lv.x. For starters Miraidon ex, electric generator, Buddy poffin, binding mochi, Pecharunt ex, Janine secret, area zero underdepths, etc. These cards don’t exist just in their own set and you have to take into account every other card that exists in the sv era.
@@themareeper I think all of them have their merits honestly, even though hop can have silly numbers it will need to also somehow jam in enough space for a draw engine and either dusknoir if we go full spread approach with the first attack or energy acceleration, that’s going to be a tough board to manage and there’s never a guarantee that all the mods come together, which in some cases are mandatory to reach what we need!
I am only interested of the impact the damage mitigation tools will have post rotation. Several Archetypes will be gone, narrowing down the META game making it easier than ever to tech against the main attacker of the newest archetypes. Healing/Tank strategy making a comeback?
@@KantoCacho we still have gholdengo, raging bolt and ceruledge as some of the ohko options that remain but I do think archaludon and a couple other tanks out there can do well!

Lillie's Clefairy ex + Teal Mask Ogrepon ex
Decent combo, type coverage into so many matchups, and can still utilize noctowl due to the Teal Masks.
The hop deck seems good but it is really giving me more spoon-fed buzzrok vibes
Zero energy with the choice band is cray
