Thanks for this guide man. Was having trouble picking a main and Feng seemed intimidating, but this really helped break it down for me. I even took notes on your video and reference them when I play lol!
Love the guide, really helped me transition from T7 Feng to T8 Feng 😊. One thing I found you can do to catch people blocking your down back 2,2,2. You can press the first 2,2 double tap back then down forward 2,2 to stop people from punishing this string. You can add on the 1+2 at the end to catch them with the counter 😊
Great video. One thing that is missing, even for beginners, is his command grab! UF 1+2 is incredibly strong. But I know you wanted to keep it short. Thanks for making it. First Feng guide ive seen.
I always wanted to play Feng but didn't have the will to do so (I mess up most of his inputs) but now I wanna try again because his playstyle heavily aligns to my taste
Great guide! Will use it to learn feng for sure 😊 Quick suggestion: I personally really like guides where the creator says the frames and "type" for every move. Or if its too troublesome maybe show it as Text like "mid, i15, -8oB, +2oH" Thats what I always look up afterwards if its not shown for the go-to moves :) And I know that you said frames on block but not always on hit or startup. I personally like the consistency if its shown always and cant tell how big of an effort it would be since Im no creator Apart from that 10/10 quick guide :) got my sub
Hello, i found something interesting on Feng with the 1,1 on counter hit : after the counter hit you can DF4+2+12+(dash)+UF3+3+12 Normally you can deal more damage with that, hope it helped 😊 and thanks for you vid man
So many people hated feng wei, so that's why not many also made a guide for him lol, luckily I found you, hope you can also made a combo guide for him, I'm looking for a youtuber with speciality, I found one for Xiaoyu, hope I found also for feng
i think looping moves with feng is one of the hardest things to do in tekken like running 3 point black and double forward 3 qcircle 1+2 for pressure waive sneak cancels etc...
14:00 - D/B 2,2 is actually really good if you dont finish the string with the 3rd hit. The second hit sweeps them off their feet, then you can do 3,3 - 1, then dash cancel into F/D 3,2,1.
Off the 11 you get wr34 into downfwrd 3 2 1+2 combo with like 3 separate Enders depending on scenario. Also most maps feng can carry to the wall from nearly anywhere mid screen giving him heaps of damage off combos. The highest damage I’ve done is 112 without rage and like 130 with rage consistently 90dmg off most combos though
Tonight I wanted to train Feng in my quest of finding who to main. And all guides I found on YT were Feng combos only. So I searched and found this content you posted... 45 min ago. 😁 There are some signs that I can't ignore. Edit : One hour in, (I pause and test things at the same time), all I can say is thank you very much for your work ! 🙏 Gonna come back to this video many times for sure.
Ff+3 is super slow (i33) if you throw it out in neutral you will get counter hit for days. Also its very linear, it was previously used for oki but its almost impossible to hit with it. B+3 is also very linear. Sidesteps are strong in this game so be aware.
Great guide, but you forgot to mention that kenpo (f3+4) in itself can parry most jabs and stuff like that, (like leroys parry) and after that you can do 1 which is armored
Shifting clouds. Kenpo is the back step. Shifting clouds is a 2 hit parry and parry becomes active so far that you can throw it out at -2/-3 on block and still parry some things like jabs. Really useful in the Steve matchup.
Damn feng is sooo bad ass. Thanks for the guide. Hes got some cool tools and i love the ancient chinese vibe. At first i thought he was pretty complicated but this guide really helped me thanks!!!
@@nirvashtk Not if they block B3. If they block B3, you're +6, which cuts the B 1+2 to 13 frame attack, so MOST times, you get instant Heat. You can also B1 after B3 and it's pretty guaranteed if they're mashing.
@@RavenXtreme I'm not talking about blocking the b3, I'm talking about the b1+2. You should do something safe and guaranteed after they block on plus. If you do shoulder, all they have to do is be patient and you get launched. Even a scrub should be able to launch that. Frankly, b3 into should is a bad setup just waiting to get launched. Same issue with b1. If they just block it, it's -12, so you're also going to get punished. no offense to you, but doing unsafe moves after a plus frame setup is hella scrubby. Do something mid and safe that will give you a reward if it works but doesn't punish you if it doesn't. Way more pressure from doing something like df+3 after b3.
@@nirvashtk DF+3 won't work, you get jab punished or Mishima 1, 1, 2'd. The only ones that work after B3 for a frame trap is B1, F+2, 1, 2 and Shoulder. Sooooo based on testing and confirming with numerous other videos, it works. But if that makes me a scrub, okay. Thanks for your input.
Hi, many times you say the word df4 instead of db4, while the input remains db4 and not df4 just something i observed, thanks for the guide, used to play feng sometimes in t7, but glad that i could find t8 information here, since trying to learn the t8 version of feng

There's a move I used to see JoKa do a lot which is like QCF headbutt thats 0 on block. Is that a good move? tricky to get right all the time so Im not sure it's use
Its b 1+3 or b 2+4. Its basically a guess. Cant react to 10 frame jabs, and it only counters strikes. Works best when you are little minus, and they want to throw a fast punch.
99 percent of tekken player always saying feng wei is easy to use but the fact yntil you try him too many moves and cancels for diffrent situations evasion parrie circles moves waive cancels all of that in one package cmon hes realy hard
I don’t think he is hard at all. He is extremely simple. Has super easy inputs for combo’s… i started tekken 8 playing reina and im very comfortable with her now, know all her moves.. she is complicated and difficult.. feng? Feng is easy mode. Harada really said “i need a fighter who i can play who is easy and hits like a truck thank youu”
Feng is definitely strong, but the key is knowing which of his moves are punishable, because a lot of them will give you a free launch. He has a lot of safe options, but they rarely lead into combo routes, they're just used to condition you to block a certain way so he can attempt to launch you. Characters like Xiaoyu can really fuck him up.
I just spent 3 hours watching and taking notes out of your guide to start fresh with Feng. Thank you very much for your work.
Glad I could help!
How’s it going buddy? Feng is my main since T7
I’m a longtime Tekken player and this guide is fantastic for someone looking to get up to speed on the T8 version of the character.
I was waiting for someone to make a beginner's guide video on feng. I'm a visual learner and was struggling. thank you so much
Glad it helped
Bro u explain things so much better than other channels, earned a sub, im obsessed eith Feng Wei!

I had to learn a secondary character and chose Feng because of the simplicity of him. This video has been EXTREMELY helpful. Thank you
Thanks for this guide man. Was having trouble picking a main and Feng seemed intimidating, but this really helped break it down for me. I even took notes on your video and reference them when I play lol!
9:02 that move is also excellent for when you are getting pressured and see openings in some of the opponents larger frame moves

Easy way into Heat against most people. B3, B 1+2. (Knee into Shoulder). It's a frame trap due to the plus frames given.
If they block it though, you're still -19. Just do df3. It's safe and will give you better reward.

2 from back is armor heat started. Very nice move. Wins games.
F+4, you need to cancel into DB not back. To create more space and induce whiffs
3,3 is the best, most consistent, easiest, and highest damage move to start off combos with (instead of f3,2 or ff4,3)
Absolutely untrue. Ff4:3 if you do perfect just frame is definitely more damage.
