- I've done better on actual arcade hardware (about 10.6 million) but I wanted to record a run in MAME for my personal UA-cam channel.
I'll see if I can improve on this later - I'd really like to get a no-death clear while capturing all the mid-bosses like I did in my best arcade run.
Final score = 8,111,010. INP available on MARP, wolfMAME v.106 used to record:

Thanks for watching!
Amazing run, what a beautiful game.
What controller do you use for your 1CCs?
Thanks!
I usually use a Hori Fighting Edge or Hori Real Arcade Pro N, both with Sanwa JLF levers swapped in for the stock Hayabusa lever.
Great to read that you score higher on arcade.
I love original PCBs!❤️ ♠️
Hi Pete, great hearing you on 10p Arcade recently. I imagine this run will get a few more views in the coming weeks. Is the route you take here a good one for a novice like myself? I've learned a lot from this video already. Great skills. (I'm rossross on the Arcade Sidekick app)
Thanks for the kind words, I really enjoyed doing the podcast with Victor and Shaun.
I think this route (ABDHLQV) is one of the best ones to start with. Alternatively, taking G instead of H is an option - the stage is slightly harder but the boss is easier than H's (Neon Light Illusion).
I have a newer run on this route using autofire, which definitely makes it a bit easier...I'll link it after this post.
Thanks again!

Wow. That was a really nice playthrough. I'm currently working through this one on the Saturn and found that take down of Neon Light Illusion masterful. Great job, pal!
Thank you, I appreciate that! Yeah, Neon Light Illusion can be the biggest pain and is what usually messes up my runs. The alternative is taking path A-B-D-G-L-Q-V - you avoid the hard boss fight, but G is harder than H in my opinion.
Some darn fine playing Pete. How many hours do you have in practice roughly?
On this particular game, it was probably 3 weeks or so of practice before I could clear the game reliably. Then it took much longer to get to the point of being able to play it for score and beating it without dying for maximum end of game bonuses...maybe another month or 2. Total, I would guess I've guess maybe 100 hours on this title over several months.
