Today is 42nd Death Anniversary of Mohd. Rafi, a legendary singer, a truly blessed son of God, a humble to the core and simple personality, a singer whose songs, even 4 decades after his untimely exit continue to mesmerise the listeners…
Such God gifted artist comes to earth only once… they dont take birth again..
A Son of God has gone back to his Father and we can only complain of having been deserted!
My remembrance to this legendary singer… His songs flow in me like blood in the vein and sustain me.. hold me together.. I personally miss him even after all these 4 decades....... The uncrowned Bharat Ratna of India

मेरी उम्र 27 साल है पर मैं रफी साहब के सदाबहार गाने जो हमेशा अमर है उन्हें मैं 20 साल उम्र थी मेरी तबसे सुनता आ रहा हूँ और रोजाना सुनता हूँ चाहे मैं कितना भी थका हुआ रहता हूँ रफी साहब के गाने सुनकर सुकून मिलता है और गाने मे खो जाता हूँ कि रफी साहब के टाइम का ज़माना ही कुछ और था। एक दिन में शाहिद साहब से ज़रूर मिलूँगा और मुझे खुशी होगी कि जैसे मैं रफी साहब से ही मुलाक़ात हुई।

I was one of the lucky ones to have heard Rafi Shahib live, twice in Canada and also had the opportunity to talk to him and his wife. He was very soft and shy. Very down to earth and unpretentious. May God rest his soul in peace. I never got his autograph. Good memories!!

i was 15 when my parents bought me a 5-volume HMV set of Rafi sahab's songs seeing how crazy i was about him. i was just beginning X std and his songs were supposed to offer both comfort and encouragement. it was one of the most expensive things our family purchased at the time
