They seem to all be doing great now but it was heartbreaking about twenty to thirty minutes in. Seems like they’re all successful now and are a bigger family now and the two who grew up in the city have a big family in the mountains since their mom passed fifteen years ago. Well worth the watch and a happy ending😊
Wasn't there a real life story of triplets in the US, given up for adoption at birth, grew up in different cities, and met when they were in their late teens? Seems there was a medical study experiment behind all this...
Yes, that was actually a real experiment done by the adoption agency without the knowledge of the adoptive parents. All 3 families were visited regularly and the kids were monitored the whole time as part of the social experiment. Tragic story as 1 of them couldn't cope with the truth of it all later on as an adult. He took his life.😢
I’m so glad I don’t have to worry about that because I look so much like both my parents but now in the future if my baby seems not look like me then I’m gonna start worrying about the fact maybe it’s not the baby I gave birth to. At least dna tests are pretty common and affordable now.
i loved the documentary. but does anybody noticed that the twins that lived in the city are taller and more robust looking??? while the one in village are both smaller and shorter than their actual twin brothers .
When I saw their story in a magazine years ago, I was STUNNED! Then I saw a documentary about it not long afterward, so I assume this is an update to their stories.
Una historia muy triste y muy bonita porque ya son 4 hermanos muy unidos. Estas historias me hacen llorar y 80 minutoa no basto porque queria ver mas 😢😢😢
No scientists here. I read about their story. They are two sets of identical twins but someone at the hospital made a mistake and swapped two of them. After that and because they didn't look alike they thought that they were fraternal twins. One set grew up in a really poor part of the country and the other set grew up rich. One day a friend of the rich ones went to a buther shop and saw one of the poor ones working there. That's how they found each other.
@@Georgia7Pap The twins living in the city were not rich, they were raised by a single mother raising 3 children and working two jobs. Their father was not in the picture. Because of their mother's hard work they both had a good education. They had a sister that was not introduced in the documentary. The twins in the country were raised by a mother and father and had other siblings. They didn't have much of an education but the twin that was suppose to have lived in city became a lawyer.
The same plot that was in the Indian movie "Cirkus". Twins were swapped at birth and grew up without knowing the truth until they came across each other by accident.
Do they go over why they didn’t sue the hospital? I can’t find anything on the internet that explains that part. This story is similar to twin girls in 2001 they realized they were twins. They sued in 2008. Then again we are talking about Colombia 😭 probably get their heads chopped for trying to sue 😅
Wow, you should get a dna test done. Although it happens. My mother and father are dark complected. My father darker than my mother. My sister is dark complected as well. But I’m very light skinned.
Sort of, but not really. Those three men were raised as singletons/only children in three separate households, and were given up for adoption by their bio-mother. It was also very much an illegal experiment by the doctor who ran the adoption center. This case is two sets of identical twins, where one of each set was switched accidentally/negligently at the hospital and grew up in two separate households as fraternal twins with their "bio" parents.

Just finished watching this documentary in Netflix! It's sad what happened to them.. but they are 4 brothers now!
I just finished washing it was so sad I’m glad they become a big family love is strong

Great ending. Each started with one twin and now have three brothers. That is awesome.

Yep they put placed them in different social economic backgrounds
That has its own Netflix documentary.
I think it's called Three Identical Strangers.
@@melodramatic7904 it is not a Netflix documentary, but it is a documentary that might be available on Netflix. It's also really good! ;)
That is a very good documentary.
This was such a good documentary!
Sad but loved how they came together at the end❤️
I never cried this hard before (best doc ever)😊😊😊
Makes you wonder how many babies might have been swapped in life without anyone ever noticing.
I often think about this too. I sometimes Google search my last name to see of I can find any old photos of relatives

Hence the experiment
Access to better food, healthcare, and exercise only when they want. The other twins had a rough life: poverty, farming, military service.

Right? Just the trailer makes me extremely sad.

I’m an identical twin. Can’t imagine this happening.
Incredible historia ❤
Wow! The first thing I thought of was Big Business with Lily Tomlin & Bette Midler. Incredible to think it happened in real life
I remember this from many years ago.
Was there an international team of scientists in the 80s messing with twins or is this all a coincidence?

Sounds like the plot of Big Business (1988)
There was already a movie like this about triplets separated at birth.
Hulu had a similar documentary called 3 Perfect Strangers.
The NY Times article about this was pretty depressing
That's Shakespeare's foresight, this is literally the setup for " a comedy of errors "

its really only sad for one person. grew up hard then everything is uncovered but his biological mom is dead?! that sucks
