You can’t track diabetes to the week it happens. So you lied on your title and I’m not going to watch the video to see what else you lied about, just to get clicks. You ever bring up how horrible it is to publish skewed data because your funding would dry up if you published unbiased data that opposed the industries that gave you the research grant to start with? If you did then you are being a Hypocrite! You want clicks and likes and views and will say everything needed to get them in hopes of getting paid by UA-cam and hopes of getting sponsored by those companies who know they’re profiting off poisoning the food supply and the information. You know for. A fact no blood test can say you caught diabetes June 11th or within a week either direction of that. No it doesn’t happen in a week either. Diabetes is your body’s cells are packed full of stored sugar and insulin is no longer strong enough to cram more in. So the sugar leaks into the blood stream and urine. You keep eating carbs and your liver will start to suffer. Reducing or eliminating carbohydrates is the only way to stop diabetes and only hope of reversing it. You lie when you say anything happens a week before all your cells are packed full of sugar.

I have a heavy family history of Diabetes 2, so I pay attention and try to learn as much as possible.
So I was asking if you were able to make diet and any lifestyle choices to get back to being normal, as in not pre- or any other stage diabetes. I try to convince my mom, who's Diabetes 2, to change diet and lifestyle. She's pretty sure it's not possible. On 5/24 I started Keto. This morning, three months later down 62 lbs to 288. 4 inches off my waist. I started at two meals a day then migrated to something like a one a day with main meal @ 5pm and then healthy snacks of nuts , celery etc. @ 7 pm. Probably could have lost more but I had outpatient surgery then a two day stint in the hospital for an infection. Really have to do the long periods of fasting. This gets your insulin down and you will not have cravings.

Two years later and any time I give in to the mental craving for a sugary "treat," I literally feel so sick for at least an entire day. About 12 years ago, I started to notice that whenever I went barefoot, it felt like I had a leaf or a piece of tape stuck to the soles of my feet. When looking into possible causes, I read that many people complain of symptoms of peripheral neuropathy approximately 3-5 years before they are diagnosed with diabetes.
I invested in a blood glucose meter, and started regularly monitoring my blood sugar levels. I adopted dietary habits commonly recommended for diabetics, as my glucose levels seemed to lean to the high-side of the normal range. I also started strength training for good measure. My logic being that the energy requirements of more muscle mass would likely help utilize excess blood glucose, to better maintain stable levels. I regained full sensitivity im my feet within a few weeks of those minor lifestyle modifications.
Today, my diet is still based largely on recommendations for diabetics and I still weight train (although more for maintenance, as opposed to gains). I spot check my blood glucose levels a few times a year but it appears to be holding steady; and I haven't experienced any symptoms pf peripheral neuropathy for more than a decade.

Thank you Dr. Ekberg for putting up those helpful information video. I have known you through my parents who watch your video and recommend to me. I was diagnosed diabetic 4 months ago. I follow your video and gain knowledge of what to eat and what to avoid. I’m now on diabetes monitor and wear Libre 3 sensor. After 3 months of changing my life style and diet, I have lost 16lbs (from 124 lbs to 108lbs). My A1C came down by 4.5 after 3 months. I will go back to have follow up in another 6 months instead of 3 months. I only concern about my glaucoma. My eye doctor told me I could have vision loss and surgery. He scared me to death when I heard about vision loss and limbs amputation. 😢 Again, really appreciate for your time to put up useful videos of information. ❤❤❤

I was diagnosed 2 years ago with type 2 diabetes. However i had been trying for 10 years to find out why I was falling asleep every lunchtime, i had terrible leg cramps at night and hand cramps after a days work, the usual getting up to pee more often. After being told I was diabetic, I investigated the symptoms and everything associated with the disease.
All the symptoms gradually subsided over the next few months and now I'm Metformin free. But why did it take them 10 years to do a blood test for diabetes? Last September I had a heart attack and stent fitted, which could have been avoided had I have been told earlier.
I've been on a low carb diet now for the past year and half, hopefully reversing as much damage done as possible. Biggest problem is educating my doctor!

It is more useful to know that one is heading into diabetes/hyperinsulinemia 8-10 years before it happens. A dozen years ago after undergoing in-hospital tests I was told by the doctor that I had "fatty liver disease". I asked him what that was and what I could do about it, and in response he _literally shrugged._ A bit over a year ago I was diagnosed as having type 2 diabetes and was given a prescription for Metformin. I'm now working to reverse the condition, undoing the damage caused by medical misfeasance, and it does *_not_* involve drugs or insulin injections, just diet modification.
Fortunately, we now have great education resources such as this UA-cam channel by Dr. Ekberg and the books and videos by Dr. Jason Fung, MD, and videos by Dr. Ken D. Berry, MD and Dr. Eric Berg, DC, which were not available in 2010.

The ONE group of people that NO Alternative doctors ever reach out to are people who have been seriously damaged due to a severe accident and are unable to aggressively exercise. Months in a wheelchair in the mid-50’s and “comfort” eating due to being financially broke, unable to work, living on Oxycodone due to chronic pain, etc. can lead to Diabetes very quickly (and lots of weight gain, NAFLD, etc). One of the most important things other alternative healthcare practitioners focus on is exercise. Imagine a very active person for 55 years experiencing fractures, ligaments off the bones, tendons torn (like a rope being unraveled), smashed vertebral disks and resulting disk degeneration. When people who have had very active lifestyle find themselves in this type of position and have developed T2D 😢will turn to the keto diet to survive, but not being able to exercise or walk very much takes away one extremely important component of the recovery process. Having extremely low income means that such people cannot afford to get memberships at the “Y” so they cannot swim in a pool for low impact exercise even. There really are no alternative healthcare practitioners dealing with this one specific group of people and they are ignored.

Are you aware of a credible organization that provides a home test for fasting insulin available in Canada? Also, I believe I am IR because my glucose spikes go beyond the normal ranges (around 8+ mmol/L), however, my triglycerides are very low. This doesn't reconcile with your suggestion that IR usually leads to higher triglycerides. Thank you for your efforts!
