Short Bruce Lee clips and behind the scenes footage from The Game of Death!
I read in some book years ago that Bruce was teaching James some footwork in the background of filming OF GOD!!
Very cool he probably was!
Bruce Lee footage whether new or old still brings us excitement and a sense of nostalgic emotion. Always appreciate you sharing this with us! Feel better soon my brother! 🤝🌟🤝🌟🤝
You bet! So true! 70’s excitement is what he brings out in all of us! Glad you enjoyed it, brother. Going to be resting up this weekend to try to get over this battle feeling sick. Talk soon,

I think bruce lees brother Robert shot the footage he also gave dan inosanto some color footage with sound regards.
Wow, so Dan has the color footage.! I wonder if we will ever get a chance to see this? Have you seen the footage? Thanks for sharing brother and have a great weekend.
....i guarantee that if Dan releases that footage....linda will legally sue him saying it belongs to the Lee Estate!
Yes, I heard the same that Robert shot the footage. I had a old 80's Japanese documentary that this footage was on, if I remember correctly. My VHS tape was stolen and I still haven't found that documentary on UA-cam yet.

Amazing pics! I think the movie would've been his best plot wise because he kept running and challenging different styles on different floors, it would've been non-stop action of martial arts basically.

footage all through the show. I remember seeing some of the footage and pics way back but a lot of

Hi Charles! The rare photos are very cool, the video was hard to see, yet never before seen by the fans. You have a lot of behind the scenes material that no one has their hands on. Watching your channel is always a treat for us. What you will display, or interview, or demonstrate is fun to watch. If Bruce had finished his Game of Death, it would have achieved a more positive review than Return of the Dragon. His story, his dream of fighting different styles and each level. His imagination was above us all for that time. His story telling of what he saw, he knew his audience would love. Between reading and studying philosophy, fighting styles, developing JKD, writing, acting, directing. Man he was on his way in achieving just about anything he wanted. His fans would've supported him 100%.Thanks for sharing Charles! Be well!🙏👍👏👏👏👏🎥👊
Luis thanks brother! I do my best to share with the fans and collectors what they want and what I feel they will enjoy! Well said on what Bruce Lee would have done with the game of death. Nice collection of stills & behind the scenes footage, Charles! You had a few photos in there I'd never seen before! As for who shot the footage, I remember hearing somewhere (how's that for a credible source? :)) that Robert Lee shot this stuff but I certainly don't know for sure. Looking at this material, though, makes me think someone needs to get an interview with James Tien, assuming he's still around! He may've never become the big movie star he might've hoped to be, but he had a long career in which he worked with everyone who was anyone in the Hong Kong film industry, he must have some great stories to tell.
Just out of curiosity, was Seaton Chang one of your sources for rare Bruce Lee material back in the day? I used to get Bruce footage I couldn't get anywhere else (including this GOD footage, the first episode of Longstreet, & much more) from Seaton back in the mid nineties, before the internet made basically everything & anything easily (relatively) available to everyone.
Hey buddy I heard Robert Lee filmed it as well and that Dan Inosanto has the color version of all this footage! Hopefully he releases it one day but as you know it all about the money and if Shannon allows him to release it. I got most of my footage from JR Goodman back in the day and other collectors overseas! Thanks for commenting! Appreciate your support! More to come! James Tien would certainly make for a great interview! Glad you enjoyed the show! Have a great weekend and see you on Tuesday for my new Bruce Lee Short!

I do believe Game of death would had been one of Bruce Lee's best work.
Reason I think so is because Game of death seems to be so unique from anything Bruce has ever done before, all of Bruce Lee movies always had a great story to them compared to other martial arts films so Game of Death really would had stood out,and there wouldn't be another movie like it the same way there would never be a movie like Enter the Dragon.
@@davidrolle6545 well said and so very true. It was a very unique movie. And only Bruce Lee could’ve pulled off and played that part being he was trying to showcase his JKD on every level. Great video Charles. To tell you the truth Charles i think etd would of taken some beating, but game of death finished completely by bruce would of been something extra special had he lived no doubt about it. Do you remember ovsr what the opening scene was going to be for god, it was to show a giant oak tree in a violent wind then a large crash of one the branches then panning to a shot of a tall slim willow tree adapting in the bad wind bending and swaying but not breaking beacause it was more flexible and could adapt to the weather conditions where the much larger tree could not. Thats what i once read years ago over thats what bruce wanted for the opening for game of death.

As usual, you turn my Fridays back in time to the 70's! Some great shots there. As to whether G.O.D. would have been his best work is hard to say since he did some incredible stuff in ETD. Yes I agree Charles that if it had been made as he wanted it would have been his best work at that point. Not only would it would have incorporated his philosophy, but more outstanding fight choreography as well. Things to consider thought are the action would have been in the last half of the film. Multiple fights happening on different floors. And he had to accommodate George Lazenby to please Raymond Chow. So it may have turned out slightly different as would have had Enter the Dragon under his belt by then.🙏🐉
JW great points and let’s not forget the outside battle with Bolo and 25 karate men guarding the temple! More to come! glad you enjoyed! Have a great weekend my friend and see you Tuesday for more Lee!👍✌️
Didn’t Warner Brothers run to him for Enter The Dragon? Which meant Bruce put G.O.D on hold. I doubt the film was anywhere near completion. The script was mostly blank pages being written as ideas progressed.
One thing I regret was the music: in 1975 I remember telling my brother that I'd like John Barry to compose the score- which he did in 1978. I regretted that wish. The score was repetitive and that song was out of place, as was that actress and her role. Bruce would probably have asked his usual music composer, Joseph Koo, who would have put some energy and guts into it.
That is correct. He was called by Warner brothers to start Enter The Dragon and abandoned the game of death for a later time. The script would’ve had to evolve being he did not have much in the original script to begin with. Felt like you about the music seemed out of place. Thanks for commenting and subscribing to the channel. Appreciate your support. More episodes like this coming soon. by the way, how and when were you first introduced to Bruce Lee? Have a wonderful weekend and see you on Tuesday for my new Bruce Lee short enjoy and be well, my friend.
@CharlesDamianoBLC I was an orphan in a children's home in the 70s. In the UK, we used to have Saturday morning shows at the cinema. Some homes kicked us out and sometimes we went willingly. A few of us teens went to see The Ten Commandments that morning. It's a holy movie and I did indeed find God that day: Bruce Lee!
The cinema was riotous with children running around during the interval: remember the old days when the lady came out selling ice cream from a tray?
Suddenly, a trailer appeared on the screen and I saw this incredibly fast moving person kicking people down. I actually jumped up like an electric current had struck me. I shouted" Who's that?!", my friends calmly said "That's Bruce Lee. Haven't you seen Bruce Lee before?" No, I answered. I stood there in the very noisy, chaotic cinema and suddenly everything disappeared: the noise, the hundreds of children, even the ice cream. I couldn't move.
Soon, the lights went down and The Ten Commandments resumed but all I could think of was this guy on the screen. The scene was from Fist of Fury when Bruce delivered those kicks at the start of the fight against the karate school. The trailer said Fist of Fury would be screened next week.
I was 17. It was 1975. I had heard of Bruce Lee many times because he had exploded onto the world. My brother had been collecting his pictures since 1973 and my mum was always talking about him and everyone I knew had gone Kung fu mad. Everyone felt that they had hidden powers of mind and body because of Bruce Lee.
At the same time the tv series, Kung Fu was huge but it didn't have the influence Bruce had. For two years since his death I was a nobody with a number passed from one children's home to another. SUDDENLY! I had found myself! I always liked fighting but only to beat up bullies and stand up for others. Now Bruce Lee gave me an identity.
When I went to see Fist of Fury the following week I stayed to watch all 3 showings without food or drink and when I left the cinema that night I crossed several very busy city streets full of traffic without looking. I was mesmerised but had enough awareness to avoid the traffic.
Once back at the home the boys rushed to ask me about the movie and I had to enact as much of the film as I could more than once because the audience kept growing.
I better stop. There's a lot more. Thank you for asking about my introduction to Bruce Lee. All the best to you, Charles.

Well Charles,
Another incredible episode, many rare photos from The Games of Death. That I have never seen before. On the Rare footage I really wish someone or some body has a much better film.
It looks more like it has been Copy so many times. I'm not an expert on filming. But I'm going by when I would buy VHS tapes on Bruce Lee from the Street back in the days. Before the actual movies was released.
Now if someone can clear that filmed up. Like in Blu-ray quality. That would be really nice. Or some big movie company can fixed the film. That would be a Blessing.
Please take good care my friend. From your friend Juan E.Velez .
P.S. thanks again for another Masterpiece.

@@JuanEVelez you are very welcome brother!
Loooking at the unseen footage of GOD, I suspect that there are tons of footage waiting to come out on video.
Remember Bruce was only setting the stage for Hollywood to come knocking at the door for an investment.
One has to understand that Bruce was way ahead of anyone in that genre.
I would say his acting is a bit amateur at this time.
You could call itvs cheesy.
People also forget that cinema in the 70’s, was developing from post ww2, and straight through the 70’s.
The 70’ was generally the 60’s.
Good point my friend he certainly was setting the stage and I heard that Dan Inosanto has this footage in color. It has been holding it all these years. I’m sure releasing. It would be all about who will pay the most money as it always comes down to money and also getting approval from the Bruce Lee estate run by Shannon Lee, so lots of politics involved. In any case, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Have a great weekend and continued enjoyment on the channel.
Hi Charles now that I think about the behind the scene footage I also bought a vhs tape from a collector back in 1979 that he obtained from someone in Japan so I saw this footage late 79 early 80s I see that they were doing photo shots you can see as they are standing ready for the camera

It must have been very disturbing for Bruce to go from two movies that he had full control and then do ETD when there was so many kings. And now being a superstar and Warner Bros are still trying to control him. Well as you know they didn’t because he was pretty much running the show because Robert proved to be a lousy director in his other works and the writer is not a legend as well. The stress must have been tremendous for him. Thank you for sharing these gems as usual.

@@CharlesDamianoBLC When the Chinese Connection came out I believe in 72 was the first glimpse. Unfortunately for me when Bruce came on the scene there’s been no other action star since. The character about him that really fascinates me is that he was like a child or an enthusiastic teenager and at the same time the baddest man on the planet very much like a real life super hero.

By seeing the old footages, I think Bruce Lee practiced with James Tien to know how he'll fight with Karim Abdul Jabbar in GAME OF DEATH Movie 🎬 🎞
And, long time no see virtually Sir. 🎉🎉❤❤

Andre Sam are saying now that it may have been Linda Lee who filmed this during that time which makes sense since she was on the chat with him. Thanks for asking and glad you’ve been enjoying the videos. Continued enjoyment on the channels and see you Friday.
Hi Charles robert lee filmed behind the scenes game of death footage with sound and he gave it to dan inosanto some years ago he told dan to not let anyone see the footage when dan saw the footage he said I was back on game of death set with bruce instructing me through my filming no dan that's a miss etc that's to slow regards.
Graham thanks for sharing all that great information. Appreciate you! Wow!!! Have you see the footage?

I'm going to answer your question and your comment the person that was shooting on videos and the pictures what's the closest person in his life which was Linda Lee Linda was at the set and that the studio to the very last Inn also she was at the video and the studio when Bruce Lee only shot the scenes of Game of Death he was there at behind the scenes if you really look at that video where all three of them are standing there Bruce Lee do a kiss at her and she was very very happy and I guarantee you that she was the only one that shot that photo that's worth a lot of money
Larry, thanks for shooting your thoughts on that. Very observant of you to see that he’s throwing a kiss star. Thanks for sharing. Glad you enjoyed the episode. Have a wonderful week and see you today for my new Bruce Lee short enjoy my friend.

I have a question about a scene in Chinese Connection. When he walks in on Fung wai shu and the other dude. Lee looks at him with his shirt off and asks " So you're Japanese?" What did Lee see on him that made him say that?
Not too sure but thanks for asking the question maybe one of the other fans of the channel will try him in with an answer
@CharlesDamianoBLC Fingers crossed 🤞. 😆

His wife was on the set. Maybe she filmed it. There's an incomplete 39 minute version that's interesting to watch. The fight scenes were different but I think The Chinese Connection released here were the most intense every filmed.

always love the rare behind the scenes material. Although, if I'm not mistaken, I've seen most of those films before in the past. Probably in one of those early documentary videos that came out shortly after Lee's death. No matter because it's pretty awesome..

Always great to see something rare from Game of Death. I would avoid Stripeys latest video of Enter the Dragon being an overrated film if I were you as it may seriously piss your weekend off. The guy who wrote the article makes a couple of decent points here and there. But is generally very negative about the film. If it had contained the words, "muppet" and "dobber" you would think its our old mate, "Leesoreloser."🤣
JW thanks for the update. I think I’ll avoid this one to me and Enter The Dragon is the greatest martial arts movie of all time and so is Bruce Lee.! Thanks buddy. See you tomorrow. Have a great evening.
Hi Charles, Great Episode. I have seen some of these pictures but some were a first for me. As far on who filmed this, I believe it could have been his cameraman or Linda Lee. As far as the Game of Death movie. I believe it was in complete. I think he would have change things cause he was a perfectionist. That's for posting this and have a great weekend buddy.
Luis thank you! The photos were rare and a few I have nowt seen in a while as well! LOL. Or maybe filmed from Kareems home camera. He definitely would have chaned it around since story line still needed work! Glad you enjoyed the show! Have a great weekend and see you on Tuesday for my new Bruce Lee Short!

I heard it was his brother Robert who filmed this. Had to be either him or Bruce's wife Linda. Too bad someone can't turn over better footage of this. The resolution and speed of an 8mm camera cannot catch the quick action of the kicks.
I believe it could’ve even been one of those two people as well. His wife or his brother. Someone she said that they knew his brother had filmed it and then gave a Karl a copy to Dan Inosanto who has been holding it all these years, hopefully one day he releases it. Glad you enjoyed. See you tomorrow for my new Bruce Lee short and continued enjoyment on the channel
