Hi Morph! As a woman who wears makeup, I can tell you from experience that it's less like wearing a mask and more like putting on war paint. Hope this helps! =)
You shouldn't feel anything on your face. O_o If youre feeling your make up, tone down the concealer and foundation. Only use a little bit, the size of a pea. If you sweat a lot, wear a 24 hour foundation. Or better yet, try It Cosmetics CC cream. Its like a tinted moisturizer. But seriously, you shouldn't feel anything on your face.
One of the greatest things about the internet is the fact that us introverts have outlets where we are able to express ourselves more freely, openly, and easily than in our offline lives. That said, definitely looking forward to the Renaissance Faire. The crowds can be a bit overwhelming, but going in with a plan makes the time there easier. This time around, I was thinking about going as an herbalist (poisoner). Made a vendor's day last year by buying a set of bongos of all things...at a Renaissance Faire.
I've worked as a bartender, a server, a host, and a barista over the course of many years. Being a host is the absolute worst, I would never do it again. Barista is slightly better, at least I enjoy making coffee drinks and working early mornings. Being a server REALLY depends on where you work, I've had many crap server experiences and some great ones. But I honestly really miss being a bartender. It was the best job I've ever had and the only time I enjoyed going to work. I loved making drinks, being able to have more freedom with my work flow, being able to get know people on a deeper level, being able to KICK PEOPLE OUT if they're pissing me off and not having to be "nice" for nice's sake, the money is usually great, and getting free drinks is a plus. I also just like the cozy vibes of a good pub. I've also been quite lucky and have never had to work for a corporate place (except one time and I only lasted a couple of months before quitting)
My neighborhood has a little locals coffee shop. I adore my baristas. They always make my morning so much nicer. So, thank you for doing that job and making people relax a bit more. :D
From one bear to another, I hope you realise just how loved and appreciated you are. This cozy little safe space with kindred spirits and the occasional goblin. I love your asthetic, your personality and how your brain works. Im all for the VR content too, especially if it gives you a chance to explore. You are the bestest bean and we must protect you at all costs. Also you are a snacc. Own it.
I'm a massive introvert (like I usually score around the 97-98% mark) but I work in a shoe shop so you're dealing with people close up all the time. I enjoy it, because they're mostly shorter interactions within the framework of the situation. There's always conversation to fall back on if you need it. I actually find that way less stressful than social things with friends or strangers where there's nothing there to 'keep the conversation going'. I like being with friends but I'll often be there quietly enjoying the company and not engaging constantly. It's much better than the year I worked in a cafe where there was way too much to keep track of. People coming up and ordering one at a time is easier to manage than lots of people who all think they should be priority because everyone is the centre of their own universe. I'd probably be ok in a coffee shop over a bar, because the queue is much more organised and people wait their turn 😆
I've always wanted to open a bed and breakfast but have it be fantasy themed. Like, guests stay in little cottages and it's all in the woods and maybe host events for tabletop or larping and stuff. The main house that you get your food at and such is styled after a Tavern and stuff. It's been a whole idea I've had for a few years now.
Just a heads up as someone with pretty bad social anxiety (because you mentioned feeling too inhibited to go to a ren faire), if you have a good group of friends to go with and you all coordinate outfits (or at least know what everyone in your group is going to wear) it’s a lot of fun to dress up and go to a Ren Faire. The vast majority of attendees dress up in costumes that range from bounding to cosplay and in my experience, the type of people that go are super accepting and fun. Highly recommend!
I went to my first larp over the weekend as a cowkin, walked and danced around the place with cowbells on my belt which some people seemed to enjoy! I had a lovely time everyone was so lovely, might have been the best camping trip I’ve ever had 🧡
They have a game for this now. I just play on the sims and build my own taverns and have a legacy family that runs it. I have 10+ gens already 😭😭 I love this idea though, it’s like a rags to riches and expanding as you go.
My mom encouraged me to take a job in retail while I was in high school. I hated it at the time and it was at a school clothing store so over the holidays it was crazy busy. I was working with impatient customers, tired co-workers and a hellish boss. Now working at a small company, doing work I enjoy with co-workers and a boss I get along with (most of the time), I realise I use those skills of dealing with angry customers and juggling projects and stress so much better than those my age who didn't. I don't thing anyone wants those crappy retail jobs or wants to work with a million clients a day, but man can it be a huge learning opportunity.
Yes yes yes! All of this! I worked retail for most of my working life (20ish years). It teaches you soooo much. And one of the biggest lessons I took away from it all? How to treat other retail workers!! No one *wants* those jobs, but I feel like working in the service industry for like 6 months should be a requirement for everyone, simply for the lessons in humanity and patience.
Yes, like legit I think it should be a requirement for everyone at adulthood to do a stint in retail, (food) service industry, customer service, and warehousing. Mandatory, cannot opt out. Required every 20 years so you can't grow old and forget. And hell, I'm an introvert with SAD advocating for that 😆 really think it would be beneficial.
How did I not realize you do “down to sleep”?! I listen to you almost every night to get my toddler to bed and I’ve watched so many of your videos here and never put two and two together 😮😂
I'm so happy to see you playing this game. You bring the characters to life and I love watching you play just as I like listening to your sleep stories. Please keep up the amazing work. You're awesome
As someone who wears makeup everyday, yes. I wear it as if it’s my war paint and the process of putting it on is like a ritualistic mental preparation to face the day. It’s placebo effect really but it effectively shifts my mindset from very introverted to slightly extroverted. To be fair, I also have social anxiety and yet I chose a career path that requires constant interaction (it’s like exposure therapy at this point). So makeup helps me cope. It’s not a crutch though, just something really useful in boosting my confidence.
I work in a jewellers, I love the job but it’s one of those where you have to serve everyone the entire day. Because obviously people are coming to buy wedding rings and stuff. It is amazing but you have to smile and be nice all day. Even with the annoying snobby customers
The bits about the sausage are cracking me up. Perfect way to wind down tonight with your soothing style of let's-play-ing, thanks for the work you do!
The cosmetics, it's a good questions you ask - it's a way of *creating* an alternate version of your face. It's not like a mask, because I'm still identifiable... but it's a version. Often cosmetic do-ups work by re-drawing the face - and it can use a ton of makeup but be very naturalistic, or it can a modest amount yet be outrageous.
My husband and I plan to one day build a tavern themed after the beginning taverns in the Witcher 3. Neither of us like the game much, but we both started it and thought it would be SUCH a cool place to hang out.
I don’t LARP but I go to the medieval fairs anytime they’re in town. I don’t dress up but plenty of other people do and it’s good fun. Feels like you’re in another world. And the jousting! It may not be as dangerous cause they aren’t trying to kill each other but the horses thundering down the field makes for a powerful show.
*Me sitting here with my butterbeer collector's cup *spits drink out* What! Butterbeer is amazing! Best job I ever had was in a library. I loved working down in the basement with the smell of older books everywhere, the silence. Everyone thought it was creepy, but I loved it. But I love books so...
That game is like a bad acid trip 😂 But I'd definitely watch a full playthrough. I'd add SA and mental health geared trigger warnings at the start of it, though.
I love the subtle turn back to the customer as you were making your Ikea joke in hopes that would get it😂 and I would like to see you play VR gamess :D
Just jumping on the renesanse fairs, the UK and europe in general does them even better than most american (us and canada). Heck, germany is actually one of the countries that is known for its fairs and how realistic they are (and they are often held in and around castles). But also ireland and england themselves are really good in these fairs! Also, you dont have to get dressed to go, as many dont. But it is a nice added bonus. Many of the events are free for entree, so you can just try one out. If you like it, also a lot are with tickets, but than its really a full camp and fair experience, a full emmersion, so if you like the idea of this game, definetly go to one!
HI I DO LARPING!! I love love love a good themed resturant/bar/experience- makes sense why I like larping so much lol. Not only do I go to a couple other larps but I actually run one too! Also I do share your sentiment- there should be more themed restaurants/taverns/bars. Honestly my dream at this point would be to open up a lovely fantasy themed bed and breakfast.
Bristol has a steampunk themed cocktail bar, a tarot themed one that do tarot readings, burlesque nights and other events, tons of different board game bars and cafés, they have a cat pub, a couple arcade game bars. I'm constantly finding new bars I want to check out!
I only worked at a coffee shop for a very short amount of time. Never as a bartender but did serve in restaurants. In my limited experience people are very grouchy in the morning before work getting coffee. People are usually happier to be off work with their friends drinking lol (both have regulars, but I feel like you have more ability to talk to them in a bar). Maybe barista by a teeny bit? Both are hard and I respect both :) Game looks fun! I also agree with you on the themed restaurants, we need more!
As a follow up (responding as the video is going). I prefer it to be at least steady because I can’t sit still and do nothing. Steady with a couple breaks to take a breather :)
we have player 1 bar here in vegas. its a gaming bar where they have things from ps2/xbox360 to ps5/xbox1 and old retro games like donkey kong and pacman, pinball machines, unique drinks, food, anime themed nights, the workers are forced to cosplay everyday, lots of people love playing fighting games on the big tvs at the bar against each other. amazing amazing place.
I'm late to this, but I'm a goth girlie who loves to do a full face (if I'm not going on a hike or kayaking) and it can feel like a mask. I feel like there is a significant difference between how I look with and without makeup, but not in a "better/worse" manner. My makeup'd face is the mask I show to strangers, people I don't know and don't want to be vulnerable with. Without makeup I feel a lot more exposed and anxious unless I'm with people who make me feel...safe. I never wear makeup while listening to you 😊
I used to LARP with an ex that passed away. I went as a Lone woodland huntress, and I have gone as a demon princess tracking down the man she is supposed to be arranged married to. And I have gone as myself who was slowly turning into a fairy because I ate fae food. lol It was very fun.
4:05 I had two places like that where I used to live. I mustered the courage to get in, being older than most there, and had a blast with board games and coffee drinks. I know I have at least one similar place near me now, but I've been such a hermit lately and, well, now I'm even older than their clientele 😂 I have been to a Star Wars themed cantina AND a medieval pub near me though. Very cool. No board games or D&D going on there though, just themed munchies and drinkies. I've also been to a ren faire held in a university campus AND a Vampire: the Masquerade LARP. Have always been a nerd. 🤓 BTW the butterbeer at Disneyworld is not worth it, just an overly sweet foamy drink...
@@Lighting_Desk Nice to know! I went right after they had opened the first Harry Potter attractions in the park and still have a mug, but it's a simple one - made of translucent plastic with a Butterbeer graphic on the front.
32:03 It really depends on the person. Not everyone is putting makeup on to enhance the way they look. It could be just for fun, for the art of it, makes you feel more yourself, Self-Expression, Maybe just to add some color. At times it's seen as an accessory for your outfit. Imagine wearing a really colorful, interesting outfit and then having a blank face it sort of makes The outfit feel lopsided in a way. There are people who do it for others but I wouldn't say that is a great reason. You could say it's a costume but I feel like things are always going to be a costume if you don't look the way you feel.
I am a larper. It may be different in the UK, but where I used to do it in the States before moving to Australia, each LARP had its own character building system and theme/world. Like D&D but actually dressing up and going out into the woods.
In the united states, we have a lot of themed bars/pubs, and also coffee shops! I think hyper specific things like "Star Wars Cantina" aren't exactly common because of licensing/copyright and such, but I have seen more general themes, like nerdy stuff, horror theme, science theme, fantasy theme, astrology/magic theme, video game/arcade theme, etc. I actually even know someone who owns an arcade bar.
The innuendo during this episode. 😂 Loved it. And yes! Please expand into some VR! That said, there are a ton of other games like this - but two really good ones are: a very Stardew Valleyesque one called Traveler's Rest, and an isometric view one called Tavern Master. Theres a slew out there, and probably just as many in VR!
The rambley ones are my favorites😊 Every day I'm working in the 'Ye Olde Bookstore Tavern' feels like a LARP among my book nerds...ha. And with the perfect mask and cape, I sense you would truly out-LARP the best of them. Morph, If you could only hear how we ramble back😂
Seriously! 😂😂😂 I wonder if that is just the uk pronunciation? English is not my first language but I did learn America English and that pronunciation threw me 😂😂
As someone who has been a barista and am now a bartender, it really depends on the place! I’m inclined to say bartending is harder because you’re dealing with drunk people on top of the actual labor of it, but I’ve been a bartender way longer than I was a barista. Of course the money is WAY better as a bartender 😅
My friend and I went to a LARPing event and we were rogues & snuck around the campsites and were mischievous. We took a skull decoration from a camp and hid it in the outhouse.
I havenever been a bartender, but I have been a barista, and a waitress for many years. I have worked both for corporate and small family owned. At a corporate job, you have anuff people for the amount of customer's. Example you have a host, waitresses/waiters, cooks, dishwashers and so on. So I find this to be less stressful, however you do have to do the corporate lingo, and it's annoying. At family owned places for example I might be the hosts, dishwasher, waitress, and to go person. The cook is often the only other person in the building. This is very frustrating to both me and the customers when busy. However I must say that I enjoyed the atmosphere so much better. So it's a trade off. And unfortunately corporate often pays much better. I once had a slow job, I stood at a cash register for 8 hours. And I might have 1 customer a day, if that. I was required to look busy, but couldn't leave the register. I will say that the table beside it glows from my polishing all day. I hated it. Now I worked as a manager for a family owned subway once, best job I ever had. I could help when busy and hid in the back doing prep (very mind numbing) when I wanted to. I have found that I really enjoy mind numbing jobs, yes I will polish your silver all day, clean the nity gritty no problem... But I hate dishes, lol. I am very outgoing, so I enjoy people and those kinda jobs, but I have days when people are just too much as well. Found that I need something to do at work, I don't enjoy being bored, helps the time pass. I always just wanted to have a balance. Guess that's why I work for myself now. I have the luxury of being live and working with people or just being Recluse and making videos.
I really prefer independent/mom and pop shops. I've mostly only worked corporate run places and they always suck 😭 I've done retail, food service, and grocery, and the people are just rude to be rude. But the small places are the best. I worked at this small joint in my home town for 4 years, and up until a few months at the end, it was fantastic. I transitioned in that shop and my coworkers were great about respecting my pronouns. No place has been quite the same, mostly very negative. But at that shop, I loved our regulars. I'm a very introverted person, but I know people, and I loved our regulars. It was so easy to have a conversation with them and not feel uncomfortable
I fell asleep watching this and had THE most insane tavern-fantasy-action themed dream i've ever had.. only the people running the tavern were two guys who were in a band/friends from highschool and it was like i was watching a documentary on all their tavern happenings/how they bought the place.. dream ended after they just found a dragon that stole a stray dog from their tavern.. rode after it in motor cycles.. there was music in the background.. and a love interest between the two guys who also rode a motorcycle but would just make fun of them. I specifically remember a photo montage of their band doing a shoot, at the tavern, getting drunk. No idea how all of that came from watching this video, buuut thanks? lol
32:33 I feel empowered having a full face of makeup on. Like I’m more confident and more myself. Although I have been going to work lately with barely only mascara.
11:46 I honestly love when bartenders and baristas use pet names I haven’t been LARPing, but I have been doing a Jane Austin/regency version of D&D with some friends. We’re doing a new campaign this summer and it’s going to be a gothic
Omg you're voicing in royale high?? I was doing the storymode and I heard your voice and thought 'hey, I recognise this voice!' and it just clicked. Congrats, you fit the role perfectly!!
I definitely agree I would go as a villain to any type of LARP. I always thought like the actors who get to play like the villains in movies and shows are having the most fun. Because it's so different from who you are in real life. There is no way anyone can tell me that Ursula's voice actor wasn't having the most fun with the performance LMAO I would definitely practice an evil laugh though and I would maybe come up with a convoluted evil plan so that way anytime I see a hero I can start a fight.
Morph says some out of pocket things sometimes 😂 I love Oga’s cantina and I wish there was more like that. Not a bar person, but more themed taverns like the Catina would make me an alcoholic
Everyone knows that if you're going to a place that caters to vampires like a slushy shack you call the drink a plushy. Blushky you know you take the word in blood and slushy and you can buy them together. I would say this is a original concept but I totally am utilizing it from a television show so lol
My family goes to Renaissance faires in July and go to the Bristol Ren Faire in wisconsin. Im always a half orc half hobbit warrior. When my kids were younger they liked to dress up. Now they are preteens and are in that whole zone but they admit they still really like going every year. I say by time they are in their 20s they may want to dress up again.
As someone who works in hospitality this game gave me terrible flashbacks and reminded me I hate my job. 😅😅 love the video though, seems like a very cute game. ❤
In los angeles there are a few taverns with themes! I go to a videogame one down the street from me and all the drinks are based off games too! They have a whole wall of board games you can borrow from
"I don't wish to be perceived" I feel this deep in my soul, like, I love cosplay, crafting and stuff is really fun, but I went to two cons in cosplay and the amount of social interaction it encouraged - No, absolutely not. Please don't create concrete evidence of my human form, thank yoooou
I really enjoyed watching the entire video. I think I’ll also play this game in the future! Really nice vibe, but I hope we can employ someone to wash the crockery in the full game.
I saw the time left and thought is he seriously gonna end after making the soup and then I get there and it's the end of the Demo. I'm so invested in this rn 😅
The ren fairs ive been to have all been so cool, plenty of crazy loud people but also chill grassy spots and nice food, I get tired easily so I usually end up passed out for a an hour or two w friends lol. you should go just once to try it!!
Well well well. You're litterally playing my life rn. As to answer your question about barrista/bartender, I have been a waitress and did lots of bartending for around 15 yrs and I personally do it for the adrenaline rush. When you're real busy adrenaline kicks in and damn that's addictive. On the opposite tho if it's real quiet I usually go home. I'd rather spend time with my dog 😅 I am the nightmare of my boss cauz I will close the restaurant at 10pm(instead of midnight) if I feel like it and there's nobody coming in🤣. And on another note, I dunno what happened to you for having such a low self-esteem but damn YOU'RE THE BEST stop doubting yourself. And you're handsome too I've seen the picture 🥴 Filter Make up or not. I get it tho I don't really like being around other people as soon as my shift ends. We love you here Morphy ❣

It may not be as dangerous cause they aren’t trying to kill each other but the horses thundering down the field makes for a powerful show.
*Me sitting here with my butterbeer collector's cup
*spits drink out*
What! Butterbeer is amazing!
Best job I ever had was in a library. I loved working down in the basement with the smell of older books everywhere, the silence. Everyone thought it was creepy, but I loved it. But I love books so...
30:17 as someone who has a fear of mascots I can totally understand feeling free inside of the costume, however the costumes do give me chills
I would love to see you make a full playthrough of Indika!!
Coming soon! Fingers crossed I get time to record it this week, really enjoyed the demo
6:54 bear comment was so out of pocket HAHAHAH😭
Morphy VR content 2024 >>>>
This game looks pretty cute. Im still trying to play through Bear and Breakfest.
I wonder if this is similar
Just jumping on the renesanse fairs, the UK and europe in general does them even better than most american (us and canada). Heck, germany is actually one of the countries that is known for its fairs and how realistic they are (and they are often held in and around castles). But also ireland and england themselves are really good in these fairs!
Also, you dont have to get dressed to go, as many dont. But it is a nice added bonus. Many of the events are free for entree, so you can just try one out. If you like it, also a lot are with tickets, but than its really a full camp and fair experience, a full emmersion,
so if you like the idea of this game, definetly go to one!
Both are hard and I respect both :)
Game looks fun!
I never wear makeup while listening to you 😊
definitely would love Morphy in VR 😍😎
I used to LARP with an ex that passed away. I went as a Lone woodland huntress, and I have gone as a demon princess tracking down the man she is supposed to be arranged married to. And I have gone as myself who was slowly turning into a fairy because I ate fae food. lol It was very fun.
4:05 I had two places like that where I used to live. I mustered the courage to get in, being older than most there, and had a blast with board games and coffee drinks. I know I have at least one similar place near me now, but I've been such a hermit lately and, well, now I'm even older than their clientele 😂
I have been to a Star Wars themed cantina AND a medieval pub near me though. Very cool. No board games or D&D going on there though, just themed munchies and drinkies.
I've also been to a ren faire held in a university campus AND a Vampire: the Masquerade LARP. Have always been a nerd. 🤓
BTW the butterbeer at Disneyworld is not worth it, just an overly sweet foamy drink...
The butter beer on the studio tour was pretty OK and you got to keep the mug.
Morph would be a great medieval tavern owner!
The level of cleanliness would definitely fit lmao
"I am just splatting all over the shop."
The rambley ones are my favorites😊 Every day I'm working in the 'Ye Olde Bookstore Tavern' feels like a LARP among my book nerds...ha. And with the perfect mask and cape, I sense you would truly out-LARP the best of them. Morph, If you could only hear how we ramble back😂
Not me running to watch this 😂
Never seen a medieval tavern as the setting of a cozy game before. Very original.
The way you said “renaissance” killed me 😭
11:46 I honestly love when bartenders and baristas use pet names
I haven’t been LARPing, but I have been doing a Jane Austin/regency version of D&D with some friends. We’re doing a new campaign this summer and it’s going to be a gothic
Omg you're voicing in royale high?? I was doing the storymode and I heard your voice and thought 'hey, I recognise this voice!' and it just clicked. Congrats, you fit the role perfectly!!
yep, i'm the intro narrator :D thanks!
Cute!!!! Love this sort of gameplay
A bear tending a bar… Are you a beartender? If you were to do so in the buff, would that make you a bare beartender?
Such a cute game!!! Thanks for all your content Morph!!!
Renaissance faires are indeed fantastic!
I maxed level in this game withing a week playing for fun. Soo addictive and well done to be honest. I'm ROFL with this WoW characters as thiefs!
As someone who works in hospitality this game gave me terrible flashbacks and reminded me I hate my job. 😅😅 love the video though, seems like a very cute game. ❤
another must watch morph video. i’ll definitely play this one i love doing a fun job in game. also have a good night morph 😊😊
That “well fed pony” sign is going to be showing up in All the graphic designers kerning nightmares 😅😂
In los angeles there are a few taverns with themes! I go to a videogame one down the street from me and all the drinks are based off games too! They have a whole wall of board games you can borrow from
Hi, Morph!
I think you would enjoy the game "Broken Age" by Double Fine. It's a beautiful puzzle game somewhat reminiscent of Harold Halibut.
What's the name of the game...?
Tavern Manager simulator
This game looks so fun to play ❤
The draw water from the well makes me dizzy they should make that require less movement. But it’s an interesting game!
Graphics remind me of WoW. Good times 😊
Same, looks like a tavern in that human city I forget the name of 😂 love it
"Excuse me, for trying to be a small business owner, in this year of out Lord..." 😅 *Sweeps* 🎉
If they made a video game inspired by the wandering inn, I imagine it would look something like this.
Bar staff is far harder. You are forced to deal with drunk people ! 😊
I really enjoyed watching the entire video. I think I’ll also play this game in the future! Really nice vibe, but I hope we can employ someone to wash the crockery in the full game.
Thank you for everything you do!
I know that we have a Pop up bar that has themes in Edinburgh. They had a Harry Potter theme as well as others.
Only 10 minutes in, but the Making a Drink mechanic so reminds me of Dave the Diver (another series I really enjoyed from you)!
Yes VR content please! Vacation simulator! ❤
You never cleaned the floors I couldn't my anxiety was high lol.
The dine 'n dash mechanic would be fun!
I left this running in another tab and all I hear is soda pour after soda pour 🤣Does medieval ale fizz like that??
Love that you chose the cat, I also have a black cutie ❤
Absolutely screaming as morph doesnt see or clean the floors in the front of the tavern 😭💔
You’re my favorite, my dear morph, I love ur content and comfy personality so much 🥺 I hope I can make a game one day that you’ll play! I love u :3
Sipping with sirens lmao 🤣
Love your voice you should voice those sleep reading books ❤
I do :D Down To Sleep on Spotify, UA-cam, everywhere
I absolutely feel really uncomfortable leaving my house without my makeup mask 🙌
Waiting for part 2 😊🥰🤩
