- Why my engine compression is low causes. In this video I explain all the possibilities why engine cylinder compression is low or at zero. (No compression). Some of the common causes are blown head gasket, bad intake and exhaust valves, worn piston rings and cylinder walls.

I like this guy I wish he was running for president. He explains things to us this very way to understand and I like how he makes it simple for us… you !
Thanks
Steve B.
You also could use a borescope by removing the spark plug they are out already you could look at the top of the cylinders😮 to see if it has a hole
Mine has oil I think or fuel idk but it’s in my cylinder head, but I had a misfire on cylinder 3 and checked my cylinder bores and they all look dry except that cylinder 3, did a compression test and got around 165-175psi but on that cylinder 3 I got 30psi😩do I need to get a new engine???
@@edforthewin8574has your car ever overheated?

My car has never overheated but I have a misfire on cylinder 3, spark plugs, ignition coil, and fuel injector have been checked and all is good. Would you recommend I do a compression test? Or should I first check MAF, fuel filter or is there anything else I can do or check? Thanks for the video and sharing your knowledge.
definitely check if for anything else check the overall health.. unlikely to be your situation but i had a misfire on my car from a valve cover. I'm guessing your spark plugs were dry when they were removed.
Mine is doing the same thing omg. Same cylinder and everything. It has a rough start and idle.
Very interesting and helpful information.
Do a video showing how it’s done it’s more entertaining and better understood by newbies
Great video 👍
Video is AWESOME
Very helpful and straight to the point thank you 🙏
Hi mate, very good explanation, I have a Mini Cooper s f56 2016 what could be a low compression on 4 cylinders and all of them are 20 psi what could be the cause about it I appreciate your reply thanks
Head gasket issue
I have a six cylinder , lighting bolt light came on and went into limp mode, after would not start , have fuel pressure ,spark, good relays etc, no compression in 2 cylinders on one bank no compression on 2 on other bank, have full on 1 and half on last any thoughts? I asked u about timing on one of your other videos, by the way u have good videos straight to the point with necessary info
Need new throttle body perhaps.
Head gasket blew between pistons and blew a hole in one of them , i replaced one piston ..😂
Wondering if its gonna work , it was a fairly new motor too ..
I did a compression test on my 2002 Ford Explorer 4.0l v6 4x4
It looks like cylinder 3 might be an issue, and 1,2 & 3 is not consistent with 4,5 & 6 cylinders.
Here's the readings I got.
Dry test. PSI
C1. 130
C2. 135
C3. 119
C4. 143
C5. 144
C6. 148
Wet/oil test. psi.
C1. 135
C2. 137
C3. 125
C4. 148
C5. 151
C6. 155
Have you come across something similar, and what do you recommend I would do next?
I just rebuilt my 170 Studebaker flat head engine. I am getting only 60 lbs and it does not want to start. Is it because there is no oil sealing things yet. Should I add an ounce of oil to each piston and let it sit?
I got a 05 hemi 300c 5.7, 0 compression in #2 cylinder dry and wet compression test was 0 what else can it be
One of my spark plug has no compression. Mechanic is saying too much money to inspect further and for me to buy a second hand engine. This sound right?
Ask for a leak down test.
@@andrewcain6518it’s more economical, keep the old engine and fix it in case you need another. Advice From a seasoned mechanic
I have a 2006 X3 BMW bank 2 and 4 low compression. I changed plug, coils and value cover gasket. Still miss fire. I was told to try C-foam
I have a 2013 dodge ram 1500 the cylinder 8 has zero compression. What could to be ? Engine is broken? Because I just got it over hauled a year ago
It's common for the exhaust valves to go bad for that year, make and model.
@ thank you, I will give that a look and hope that’s the only problem.
was looking at old shcool vw bug listed as low compression after an overheat i think it might have been the engine seal or burnt valve
Very good video man. Keep it up
2008 ford explorer 4.0 new timing chains running great then died no compresion 4-5-6 checked visual of camshaft all tight and turning any suggestion
Thank you for a time well done video
On my hyundai i10 there's only one spark plug that have compression, the rest doesn't have, what can be the cause?
I lastly drove it on March
Hey, I have a O2 4.8 LS. I have no compression on cylinder two but when loosen the rocker arm I get full compression, what could that be?
I have P0300 and P0301 & P0302 and both cylinder 1 and 2 are at 80 and 90 PSI compression and the car is misfiring on both cylinders. Replaced all 4 coils and spark plugs and still does it. Have any idea what this may be or could mean?
80 and 90 is below the good threshold, sounds like time for a rebuild, or head gaskets blown between the 2 cylinders
Ecm also causes misfires p1399
Honda pilot 2012 V6 cylinder 6 low compression..
changed all the plugs, coils injectors Fues checked after..mechanic said.. need a new engine..any idea???
Plugs and coils do not raise comp. Its something in the head, or its bad rings.

Do you know about ford trucks? I got a 91 Ford f350 7.5 and i replaced almost everything new and still misfires. MAP sensor. Purge valve. TPS. EGR valve position sensor. Fuel injectors. Spark plugs and wires. Distributor cap and rotor. Ignition coil. ICM. Air filter. I even did a engine flush. I even check the PCM. Coolant temperature sensor. Air intake sensor. Like its not hold idle. One minute its ok then next minute, it misfires. Then back to running fine. Then back to misfire.
Timing is off or firing order is off. I assume it idles rough and runs okay when in speed.

I have a g35 wen into limp mode while driving now it won’t start n it sounded like low compressor
On my 3.3 did the test my highest was only 90 all the others were 60 ...only 80k miles im guessin im goin to have to swap engines ?? Extremely rough n u have to mess with it to stay running ..if u try to give it gas it acts like its starved of o2 ..but no vac lines are bad , plugs n coilpacks changed ..fuel filter checked , ran absolutely fine all day never overheats. Never stalls no power losses...filled up with gas 20 minutes after the truck filled their pumps(didnt know they just had found out out from clerk next day ) ..went to start it and its sounded abysmal after starting...never in 53 years saw an engine be 100% fine and come out 12 hrs later be f@cked like this
