The Force Awakens is STILL fantastic movie that does a nice spin on the style of ANH and introduces a new set of heroes and villains to carry on the fight. I’ll keep standing for it, same as for the whole entirety of the sequel trilogy.
I rewatched them all recently and despite their flaws, most of them contained within TROS, they are really fun and it disappoints me that the era the Sequels are set in gets so little love from Disney when compared with the OT and Prequel eras.
@@TheAPTGamerIt honestly is genuinely disappointing, especially as someone who also did really love TROS and wanted more content to explore the sandbox left open after the movie. There’s way too many opportunities to explore the adventures or even battles and smaller wars that took place within the ST or shortly after, as opposed to 15 years later after TROS, but Lucasfilm has barely touched it at all and has just focused on LEGO and more of the same old and IMO frankly overdone Stormtroopers and Imps.
I've always wondered about The Guavian Death Gang and Kanjiklub - hearing about their backstories here was very interesting! If there's ever a sequel to Outlaws, it would be a great opportunity to further explore and worldbuild one or both of those groups.
For me it would have made more sense that the ashes Kylo puts his helmet on would be Vader's. I think it would have been fitting for him to think that by having his helmet rest on his grandfather's ashes, it would be a way to somehow absorb his power/essence/etc, especially in a scene (as originally planned) where he is asking his grandfather for guidance.
The one biggest mistake I think this film made was destroying the New Republic, it would have been more interesting to see open warfare between two sides that were more or less equal rather than a retread of the Galactic Civil War. Other than that, this was actually a pretty solid movie, and I don't think the franchise will be able to capture that hype period ever again.

How does Poe escape Jakku? Another J J Abrams masterclass in coherent screenwriting is one way of putting it, another would be making it up in response to fan reactions when Poe was supposed to die in the crash. In hindsight it would've been better for him to die then so he wouldn't have to say THAT line in TROS....
I still defend The Force Awakens. It is a deeply flawed movie, don't get me wrong, but it is still a ton of fun and sets up some unique ideas that could have made for a great trilogy... could have...
That's the worst part about the Sequels for me, it's all the wasted potential. It's fine if different directors have slightly different visions, but the outright tug-of-war that happened between Abrams and Johnson in regards to the story and characters completely derailed the whole endeavor. I don't hate them for what they are (although I don't really like the end products that much either), but I hate them for what they could have been.
The lightsaber surviving that fall is far less surprising than Luke surviving it. It's a solidly built, small object made of metal. Luke made it to the bottom in one piece and, as a human, he is far more fragile than the lightsaber.
@@namikstudios Well, Luke's fall was partially broken by a chute slide, and Luke likely used the Force to help him with that fall. It's unlikely that the lightsaber fell as safely.
Some of the background on the political situation that lead to Ep7 sound like they would have made a good movie. Part of what was off-putting for me with the new trilogy was its lack of an explanation on how we got to that point.
The worst part about the Sequels for me is all the wasted potential. 21:33 It's truly ridiculous that Rey would know how to use the Jedi mind trick on the stormtrooper, she had no training or very sparse knowledge of the Force, and the mind trick was never brought up to her so she would never know that such a trick would exist. It's amazing how she requires no training, and she always successfully uses the Force but all the Jedi before her have went through rigorous training and took years to master. Also, many people have heard the legends and stories, whether Force sensitive or not, that doesn't mean they know how to wield the Force automatically. All of this happens just because Rey is written to be perfect and girl boss her way through everything and that's just in TFA and it continues through the next 2 movies and gets more ridiculous and stupid.
You mean like how Luke force pulls his lightsaber in the opening Episode V despite him never witnessing or being told on screen that the force can levitate objects?
It’s more believable because Obi Wan explains the mental state you have to be in when using the Force and we see Luke training with Obi Wan later on aboard the Millenium Falcon. Obi Wan also guides him during the assault on the Death Star to reach out and use the Force and trust it. He also tells Luke the Force will be with him always. And since time has passed then at the beginning of Empire Strikes back, it’s probably a good guess that Luke has communicated with Obi Wan and possibly shared some further knowledge of the capabilities of the Force. And a Force pull would be pretty basic compared to a Jedi mind trick I feel (Rey also does this at the end battle in TFA without knowledge of the pull as well)
@@BthIX I’m sorry but you’re wrong. Luke had some training from Obi Wan in episode 4 and did struggle to get the lightsaber off the ground in the ice cave. It’s more believable than Rey’s first mind trick.
18:00 I thought this in 2015 after watching The Force Awakens in theatres and I think it still; that "traitor!" Storm trooper should have been Captain Phasma. Look forward to the next FAQs, and to hearing more about Rey's return to the big screen.
Great Video! One thing about the Sequel Trilogy - and I really like the ST - but some of these little things, connective tissues, really should have been outright stated. I think that would have made some of it go over better. The timeline on The Falcon is that they lost it in 31 ABY and found it in 34 ABY. The thing is that the movie makes it seem like it's been SO LONG. The same is true of Luke's exile. It was actually only like 5 years, but it feels like it's been since the OT came out. The actors aged more than the characters. Really, I think that making that clear might have made it feel better to some fans who felt that it was so extreme.
The fact that a video like this has to be made to understand basic aspects about Episode 7 tells you all you need to know about the sequel trilogy. Episode 8 and 9’s videos are probably gonna be even longer
Its more a reflection of how people complain and nitpick these movies without paying any attention, so this guy has to make videos explaining basic stuff to answer their stupid questions
You forgot to answer the most important question of them all which if failed to answer reveals how out-of-their-butt was all the non-sense presented in this first film by Disney. What the F*** is AN AWAKENING? And underlying to that of course: Why should we care about what happens after Return Of The Jedi, if the story was already finished?
Awakening as in the force inside Rey was awakened. And George Lucas himself had planned for the story to continue after Return of the Jedi. It was Lucas who came up with the idea that Luke would go into self imposed exile, just as Yoda had done before him, and would then later train a female teenager, as he did with Rey.
@@namikstudios The force does not awaken inside people, the force is everywhere and it doesn't go to sleep. You're in the the wrong franchise, it's not X-Men and the force is not a mutant gene. George Lucas' idea for Luke was completely different, he looked for a way of blinding Luke so he can be nerfed for the plot, and that was isolation inside a temple. It had nothing to do with losing hope or becoming a grumpy man. And no, he only suggested ideas for sequels with the prospect of selling the company to make a more attractive bundle for buyers. Since 1991 to 2011 he always said he only needed the 6 movies to tell his story, he did and didn't change his mind. In 2019 he repeated that only the first 6 are his philosophy.
@@abadalfa awakened as in she became awake to the existence of the force inside herself. It's really not that hard to understand the meaning behind the title. Lucas has changed his position multiple times in relation to the sequels and even the prequels before them. That was mostly because he didn't know if he had it in him to commit to another three or six movies, something that is truly a massive undertaking that requires about a decade to complete. The prequels took him over a decade - he started writing Phantom in 1994 while Revenge wasn't released until 2005. Luke going into exile after failing, just as Yoda did, was certainly Lucas' idea, as was the training of a young female padawan later on. They were not Disney's ideas.
@@namikstudios I can't believe people like you who are willing to lie just to get a narrative going can exist. Lucas did not change his position. He publicly never spoke about sequels before 2017. You're full of it. You're maliciously misinforming people. Lucas spoke against the sequels again in Cannes this year, Bob Iger himself wrote Lucas was displeased. His statements are all documented on video, you cannot change or twist his words. The truth is bigger than you and people like you.

Look forward to the next FAQs, and to hearing more about Rey's return to the big screen.
Long have I waited...
These questions are impressive and the answers even moreso.
Why was the X-wing black?
Because he's the black leader of black squadron (no racial pun intended)
Amazing video!
Finally some ST content.
Damn I love this movie and this whole trilogy. Great answers to these questions as well
And NONE OF THIS MATTERS
What do you mean?
👍
The fact that a video like this has to be made to understand basic aspects about Episode 7 tells you all you need to know about the sequel trilogy. Episode 8 and 9’s videos are probably gonna be even longer
Its more a reflection of how people complain and nitpick these movies without paying any attention, so this guy has to make videos explaining basic stuff to answer their stupid questions
@@BthIX It does feel like some people ask more questions than actually need to be asked and answered for movies like these
FAQ for Sequels Let's Gooo!!
Love it!!! 🤘🤘🤘
Thanks so much for the upload this is super helpful.

In 2019 he repeated that only the first 6 are his philosophy.
idk man ask timothy zahn
Thanks, Alex! ❓
