The singing was so natural,so organic filled with longing and passion and real emotion- one of my favorite songs of all time-
You cannot go wrong with old time Cajun music.
It is fantastic.
This is what youtube is all about.
Merci beaucoup, tineroteman. C'est merveilleuse cette chanson et.me plaît, me plaît, me plaît!
Life was tuff back then for some but then again maybe was not so bad, I just love the old cajun music wish there was more being played today
Love this song! I used to be obsessed with old-timey music and learned about all the different kinds from the Folkways Anthology, which I think this is on.
I’m going to dig in your favorites videos 😛
oh how I love these people singing
Excellent! Nothing like it.
love this music
this is a classical treasure
Oh Wow! Just food for the Soul!
Thank you my Cajun Brothers!
Always a great sound to the ears! Thanks
I believe this is Joe doing the vocals. Cleoma had a distinct timbre to her voice.
Really deep is a good description, imagine to come home and your partner wrote a song for you, while you were out that`s totally out of the blue, get`s you or anyone who hear`s it right deep inside...
Cleoma was so cute
This is the reason I like UA-cam more and more.
Keep on posting.
this is just brilliant
I was born in crowley too and somehow I've never heard of them. Glad I found this though
Where else do we get to listen to these gems?
Just for finding things like this you get a big thumbs up.
Quality??
I m glad I can listen to forgotten music like this.
Do keep up the good work.
@cajuncathy Thank you cajuncathy, glad you enjoyed it.
Yes, wonderful music, you can be proud of your Grandpa!
This is so lovely,
I really like Cajun music. I don't understand the French dialect but it sure sounds good to this old country boy ~ Bob Coltrain Kennedy
Une belle chanson, I love the way it "chugs" along, propelled by the 1 row accordion..for more great French accordion and song [Nord-Amerique], check out the Virtual Gramophone website ...all Canadian stuff, "different mais la meme chose"...different but the same thing somehow..merci....
wonderfull
Also recorded by Amede Ardoin, I think, and in the same style.
@Trilby Hi, thanks 4 ur comments, actually I think I do hear a triangle, pretty much throughout the song, but because of the old/bad quality of the recording the sound doesn't come out very clearly...
No, it wasn't on the anthology, it was on a record of cajun music, various artists. That is some guitar Cleoma has got.
J"aime les patates frites !
real men love cajun
Oh les gars du coréage!
vive les Acadiens et Acadiennes
The French are responsible for creating jazz & rock
is this a variation of Bayou Pon Pon?
It just needs a bit of triangle. ;-)
