- In this video Dr O'Donovan explains some common signs and symptoms of CERVICAL CANCER plus ways to try prevent it and what happens during a pelvic examination.

**Cervical cancer is a cancer that's found anywhere in the cervix.
**The cervix is the opening between the vagina and the womb (uterus).
**Nearly all cervical cancers are caused by an infection from certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV).
**It can often be prevented by attending cervical screening, which aims to find and treat changes to cells before they turn into cancer.
**Cervical cancer usually grows very slowly. How serious it is depends on how big it is, if it has spread and your general health.

2 days ago my gynecologist told me I have early cervical cancer and I had 0 symptoms! They discovered abnormalities during my regular cervical smear and then cancerous cells in my colposcopy. So I can't stress this prevention method enough! I also got the vaccine when I was 16 (now 34) but that's unfortunately not 100% effective, like all vaccines. In my case, it should be easily treatable with a good prognosis (going for a scan tomorrow to see if there's any cancer anywhere else to make sure). But still very very scary. I'm in a very frail mental state rn 😅

I had a scan for my colon for Colitis flare up and they spotted a growth on my cervix. I'm a mess right now panicking. The Dr is scheduling me for a pap smear and biopsy.
I've done pop smear test and it shows squamous cells then my ancologist did colposcopy and result was cin1 after that she has done laser for treatment and I need to go for second laser is it enough or do I need to do something else please help me ?thanks
You have HPV Virus ,cancer comes with that ,make sure you have a Pap Test to check everything

You can get HPV at any age ,im 68 and never had sex or had a boyfriend,and I got Stage 3 precancerous cells. Had a Leep Procedure done Twice and so far good, but I still have HPV Virus 😢
I am a cervical cancer survivor, and now I am scared it's back because a lot of what he's describing I have seen. I hated the surgery the injection made me lightheaded the only good part was it was an outpatient procedure.

@@pohlamoos4 sorry for the late reply - got a colposcopy and said everything was normal but the gynaecologist did another Pap smear while I was there and it came back as Hygrade subtle changes. So now I am booked in for a lletz procedure in four weeks. They didn’t even do a biopsy because they said the Hygrade cells are located in the Endo cervical part of the cervix, which is the opening.
HPV will never go away ,so be careful get tested . I had HPV in my 20s and now I'm 68 and have HPV virus and Stage 3 precancerous cells and will have a leep procedure done Friday.
I had a smear that came bk hpv...yr later it came bk c2...yr after that it came bk that the hpv had not cleared and now i have servere dyskaryosis...had llets done removed precancerous cells waiting for results...in the mean time im my lower bk is hurting and my overies r throbbing doc gave me antibiotics but its got worse...my feet feel like im in high heals and my calf hurts...and im fed up...i will be ringing tomorrow...i told the doc 3 months ago i was in pain and didnt do nothing...she thought it might be to do with my hip😮...as it plays up...and my tummy is so bloated 😢and thank u so much for this video😊

I’ve hpv and I’m taking AHCC which is a shitaki mushroom extract which is supposed to be very helpful in clearing the virus
