@@3SeasRecreationHey! How much time we talking? I heard a dude that rides an Xtrainer 300 saying he went 250 hours before he had to touch the top end.
ref. 15:30 power valve cover reinstall. I've not taken mine apart and it leaks quite a bit .. my dealer recommended using a sealant on that small rubber gasket. Anyone else have this going on?
Great video. I have watched it a few times now as i'm going to be doing my XTrainer top end soon. Would be good to see the process if you are reusing the old cylinder, ie measuring, checking, honing etc👍🙂
Thanks for checking out our video! The old cylinders all get sent out to get replated. We send the cylinder with a new piston so they can match the cylinder to the piston. Enjoy The Ride, Jared
Good Morning, there will be an A, B or C Stamped somewhere under one of the power valve covers. Just keep cleaning until you find it! Enjoy The Ride, Jared
I'm doing a top end on my 2022 300 race edition and the stack of base gaskets that came off the bike measure over 1mm.. that seems almost too thick, but it came from the factory that way.. I suppose I should just get the decking tool to measure the clearance on top of the piston instead of just stacking a bunch of gaskets with the new piston. Thoughts?
If you just change the piston and the cylinder is good, can you just measure the base gasket and the new gaskets until you have the same measurements as the old gasket and use that for clearance between the head and top of piston
Good Morning! That is a good idea, but we still recommend grabbing the inexpensive Beta tool that measures the clearance. Also, in the video I thought it would be best if I show it. Enjoy the ride, Jared
Great video! If I just want to replace the piston, do I always have to match with letter on existing cylinder? Or can I assume ordering B piston would be suitable after lets say 60-70 hrs on Beta 200rr even if cylinder shows A? Thanks!
Good Afternoon, YES you always want to match piston with cylinder. Things do not wear out like that so make sure you go with the same size as before. Enjoy The Ride, Jared
Couldn't find top end kits on Beta's website referenced in the description above for a 2023 Beta 300rr. Is this something I can just give you a call and order? Thanks
Absolutely! If you live within the USA I can drop ship parts straight to your house. I know everything you will need to get the job done without looking it up! Thanks, Jared
What kind of wrench are you using to take off the cylinder nuts? I had to grind down a wrench to fit but then it wasn't strong enough to break loose the nuts.
Nice video! Thanks! My 23 300 has 80 hours on it. Hard trail riding. I was thinking about a top end this winter. Is it common to just replace piston and rings? What and when do you recommend? Many thanks
Good Morning, thanks for checking out our channel! My recommendation is just to keep an eye on the compression of the engine. Every tester will be different so use the same one every time. This is a race bike and was 100% fine but we wanted to do it for the new season. Honestly he probably could of gotten another season out of this top end. Enjoy the ride, Jared
So I own a 2016 Beta 300RR Race, I run non ethanol and av gas mixed, and my oil is Motul at 3oz per gallon, she has 60hrs should I let the top-end go to 100hrs. ???? Allen
Good Evening, as long as you have changed your air filter when needed I would absolutely let it go to 100 hours. It's never a bad thing to do a compression test every so often to have notes. If compression starts to slip then it's a good idea to do the top end. Enjoy the ride, Jared
Allen i have 2014 KTM 300 with 120hrs, have parts to change but going a little longer. Run amsoil and change air filter every race. i think you will be good. Rock on!
Good Afternoon, honestly we did the cylinder because I had the wrong pistons for the stock cylinder... I needed an A piston but I had a B piston and a new B cylinder. I will get this used cylinder sent out to US Chrome along with the other in stock B piston and they will rechrome the cylinder and match it to the piston. Enjoy the ride, Jared
Good afternoon! Honestly I have not tried that and not sure that I would. If I am ever unsure I send both the new piston and the cylinder out together to get them matched . Enjoy the ride, Jared
Another great video. I have a question on shortening the mufflers on these bikes. I'm trying to get a brand new 2022 300rr home this spring. I want to shorten that can but what does it do to torque down low?
Thanks for checking out our videos! Honestly I am not sure how the power is affected, the bike gets louder but I don't feel a ton of difference in the power. Enjoy the ride, Jared
Well, thanks for all you do in your videos, but I would like to point out a couple things that people need to understand. Number one you did not correctly illustrate the importance of ring gap, when you’re measuring brand new rings, we have no concern about the gap being too big that too big number is stated in the manual to let you know whether your rings are worn out or not … What’s of utmost importance here with new rings is the fact that you will have to have ENOUGH GAP…. You want at least 12 or 13,000 of an inch if it’s less than that you will need to file the gap. If there’s not enough gap, you run serious danger of completely destroying the cylinder. Number two, it’s not necessary to do a trial and error with base gaskets to get the correct dimension X. Simply use a dial caliper to measure the factory base gasket of course that is if you’re certain the motor has never been disassembled before then simply use the same same thickness that the factory used when you put it back together. Just a little bit picky here but it’s common to hold the throttle wide open when doing a compression check☝️✌️
I hate to be that guy but... You did the compression test wrong. The first test the throttle was never open when cranked. The second compression test after the piston change, throttle was wide open. You can hear the sound difference between tests also. That would explain why there was such a compression difference.
@@3SeasRecreation awesome, great content. Keep the Beta knowledge coming. I've never seen the Beta gasket thickness process. Did the tool come with the topend kit or do i need to purchase it separately? I hope it wasn't stated in the video and i missed it. Great video again, I'm a subscriber.
These beta,s in my opinion are the best looking bikes made today. I'm currently saving to buy a beta 500 rr-s. I love these beta,s..
Thanks! I hope you can reach your goal! Thanks, Jared
The timing of this video... I`m just about to do my first ever top end rebuild (Beta 300RR) and this video pops up! Thanks!
Haha awesome! Thanks for checking out our channel! Enjoy the ride, Jared

Damn that shroud looks gooood, love it
Please make a video on how to change the trans oil in a beta xtrainer .
😳
Great video very helpful, thanks! I gotta get some parts from you as a show of support.
This is the other reason why I bought a Beta 300. Easy topend refresh unlike a 4 stroke. I can’t wait to get some more hours on it.
The Beta 300 motors last a very long time with just simple maintenance and a smart rider! Enjoy the ride, Jared
@@3SeasRecreationHey! How much time we talking? I heard a dude that rides an Xtrainer 300 saying he went 250 hours before he had to touch the top end.

So if the bike has an "A" Piston do you not fit a "B"? You just get it replated for an "a" again?🤔

what piston do i need?

Going to rebuild my 2021, 300 RR. Do you sell that gasket gauge that you used on top of the jug?
Where do I get the little beta tool to measure the gap?
It can be ordered for sure! Give us a call if you need one! Enjoy The Ride, Jared
is there any difference between doing a top end on a 250/300 vs a 200rr ?
Will pulling on the power valve actuator arm while disassambling mess with the assembly down behind the clutch cover?
