That’s quite literally why this elevator doesn’t exist in the US and elevator companies stopped making bottom-drive systems. lmao

Depending on how many openings there is in hoist way of the new elevator, determine how long it takes to to build.. Not no 2 weeks from beginning to end.. No way..

first time i have seen a nanospace lift installed. it is a lot easier and less graft than we had to do in the 70s and 80s with high speed passenger lifts.

There's pumps for shaft pits that pump out any accumulated water on the shaft floor preventing just that.

2 weeks of over time and building being shut down , good luck dragging the new rails in the shaft, only 16 foot long oh wait you got 2 counter weight frames ! which require double rails for them too ! wow what a better way to spend tons of money for 5 more square feet

2 weeks? lol. Maybe in the test tower. The other trades have to get fire life safety, power, phone lines, etc. brought in. Plus an entire demo is a weekish. Imagine scheduling inspection before you even man the job.

  • @Aawsomeguy

When I saw the controller on the 1st floor right next to the elevator in a panel I then knew it was a MRL (Machine Room Less) system before the bottom mounted drive machine was even shown. They take much less power then the larger geared and gearless drive machines in a rooftop/basement elevator machine room.

Wish there was an option to not have the motor in a pit. Live in Florida and our community was built in the early 70's and the elevators need to be replaced. But, one of the issues is they need to get everything out of the pit due to tropical season at least once or twice a year flooding the pit area. As a result they have to shut down the elevators during any high rain periods to prevent the motors from being shorted.

    • @SamSitar

or have a second motor above the hoistway as a part time replacement.

    Ohhhh smart.
If I interpret this correctly the counterweights are a bit overbalanced to coax a bit more payload from the motor since this seems to be push/pull.
    Elegant system.

I know of cable lift elevators and hydraulic elevator for just a few floors. But I have wondered why elevators did not use a jack screw mechanism. I suppose the flex in the drive screw would be a problem with taller installations. Screw drive would be very smooth and quiet with little car fall risk except for major structural failure.

    • @DerSolinski
      @DerSolinski Рік тому

Screw lifts exist but only in very small industrial applications and then only with a very low head.
They are *very* expensive to build and to maintain.
      Also slow as F.
They are only one step up from gear lifts, yes with a rack and pinion.

A marvellous piece of engineering, but it's concerning that both the motor and its control unit are located at the bottom of the lift pit. All it takes is one leak/flood and your motor is fried.
