You do a great job of dealing with all the nasty abcesses and cysts that these little guys get. It was cute to see him showing his displeasure by "grinding" his teeth. he was not too happy of a camper. I hope he makes a full recovery. He's such a handsome little boar.
God please stop with the irritating subscribe bell sound already...my baby guinea pig is very sick with abscess and your crazy sounds are not helping. Moving on
@@bornwithbsguards Hello Macy, what I’m about to say is not to be taken as being rude to u, I’m just being logical. Seriously though, u cannot put blame on Lyn, it is ur choice to watch Lyn’s videos with ur sick piggy, which u don’t have to do, go to another room (without ur piggy) to watch and learn. Have a good day
I found a similar but bigger lump on my boy and I’m taking him to the vet in the morning! Hopefully it’s just an abscess like this and can be easily drained
Without going into two much detail there are a number of possibilities about that location. I hope the vet is able to get on top of it and the cause for you.
@@GuineaPigStuff So the least expensive option was to put him on antibiotics and anti inflammatory for a couple weeks to see if it improves. He goes back next Friday for an update. He’s still acting normal though! Eating good and drinking and sleeping and moving around. He will be 6 in October 🥰. Keeping my fingers crossed that he won’t need any surgery. Not sure if it’s an abscess or lymph node or lipoma etc.
Help! One of our guineea piggies fluffies has a swelling or abcess. If it's on the neck, she can't resolve herself. Doesn't it work with remedy like bitter that has 50 plants?
The vet may be correct in terms of what can be seen as I have no idea what it going on from the comment. However you can always post photos and images into the facebook community for help and ideas. facebook.com/groups/CavySavvyGuineaPigCommunity
@@GuineaPigStuff Hello Lyn! I’m from the U.S. r u saying that what u did to drain the fluid out of the piggy, a vet would change around $2000 dollars to do???
Hedgehog was adorable!! What a cool little dude. What happened with the first guy? By the looks of his front teeth, he has something going on besides a cyst.
I hope Hedgehog is okay, I know from personal experience that lymph nodes up all over the body is a key sign of lymphoma and that's very deadly. They're both very cute little piggies.
Well done. Please join our group where you can ask questions which might give you insight when discussing with the vet. facebook.com/groups/CavySavvyGuineaPigCommunity
Please get specific - he is not 'screaming'. The area is numb which is really important, but when dealing with neck abscesses the hold is effectively on their throat. It is not comfortable and certainly when draining, so this is why you at 14.00 you see him do sudden moves and make a small sound.
What a wonderful lady does she do all this for free or donations I do know that's don't really know a lot about guinea pigs and they don't work for them from the research I've done on it I wanted a guinea pig real bad but then when I did all the research I found out how much care you have to care for them and how much food and how many problems they can have so I decided it wasn't best for me
Hi Krista Cavy Central Guinea Pig rescue is run by Lyn and these videos are to help people look after them well. Especially in this time it can be hard to get to a vet, let alone an exotic vet.
You could drain the abscess much quicker if you made another small incision, I feel bad for this little animal because you’re over there squeezing it for 8 hours.
I love your videos but there is some concern on my part when I see scalpels and medical procedures being done without any trained vet medical professionals present. I understand that you’re trying to help the poor piggy but I’m just wondering why you’re not simply referring to a vet? Where I live, this would actually be considered illegal… I’m a licensed veterinary nurse and even I cannot perform such procedures without a vet present.
Karen I don't think you watched or you would see the green gloves! There is an update on this little fellow which is about to come your way and how amazing they are.
I can't watch any of your videos. The music you have chosen has ruined your educational video. The music is way to loud and goes in & out between you talking. The music isn't calming or relaxing. It makes people more anxious if anything. You either need to remove the music, which I would recommend or choose something more relaxing & calming. The music is just to much of a distraction and completely unnecessary. Your focal point should be the Guinea Pigs. Your videos don't need to be elaborate or flashly.
Every video is different. Usually when there is music there is nothing to share wtih you at that time. I appreciate you may not like music and that is ok too.

You guys are so good at dealing with pigs that get all sorts of nasty infections
Thanks - years and years of experience

10:47 if you came for the abscess.
Thank you!!
I love your videos. My only complaint is the music you put on. I’d rather hear the conversation instead.
Thanks for watching March 66 - point considered
The music is the same tune over, over, and over and it makes me nervous 🤪
Stop Complaining

Thank you for watching.
There is an exciting update coming on these piggies very soon.
What was the liquid in the syringe you applied to the abscess after draining?

Im looking for flea prevention ideas for my guinea pig if anyone can help?
My piggy just diagnosed with abscess under the chin too. The vet do not want to lance it and suggest surgery.

What was in the syringe to flush out the wound? Approximately how much do vets charge for this procedure?
Debrisol - it ranges enormously but have seen quotations around $2k

Love what you do,but music it a tad too loud
what is the solution you use to flush out the wound afterwards?
Hi it is debrisol. Check it out here www.guineapigstuffshop.com but they only send within Australia.
Can we have an up date on the two piggies in this video please and thank.
Yes there are some great updates about to come your way and amazing stories as well.
i’d like to see the video without all at music interrupting. i’m thinking about getting a guinea pig and want to know as much as i can.

Hi Elle-rose - no but work very closely with them
If he's bitting on the bars, then his cage is too small.
Hmmm sometimes
Poor little piggy...what do he have to endure😢 This is torture☝🏻
AAAww! Hegehog is so cute.:-):-D Oh no.That was awful.:-( His poor teeth.:-(
Why do you not put a paper towel under it ?
We usually do
