Brilliant brilliant just BRILLIANT! THIS is exactly what I've always wanted; what I don't understand is why Bethesda or modders have not come up with a 'leveling' system to make it easier to line up your Airlocks to places like your landing pad... a huge Thanks for the video!
Sweet! I’m happy to the hear the video helped you out! I’m pretty sure there’s a mod that allows you to build on large landing pads or maybe has a large landing pad you can build on.
Excellent build and Very useful information. I've seen other outposts vids with the habs and airlock on the launchpad, but i've been struggling to replicate what they did. This got me squared with the airlock placement.
@@MillsBuilds The big landing pad with ship builder is super duper ugly. Hideous. This build of yours is amazing! You've put a beautiful bonnet on Bethesda's ugly baby!
Thank you!! Glad it could help. I had a whole build made up before I realized how to reliably get the airlocks to place, so then I basically deleted what I had and started from scratch.
I'm just gonna copy your set up. Been struggling to do some type of unique build for my outpost but I am very indecisive on the design and this design in your video exterior and interior, just looks damn good!
Great video and outpost! I got here from the Starfield subreddit. Are the counters by the kitchen crafting console commands or higher in the skill tree? I’m just starting in outpost building and don’t recall seeing those in the builder.
Thanks dude! And everything built here can all be done vanilla, no mods or commands. Only thing I used commands for was to spawn the NPCS. I made a video showing how to unlock and what decorations you unlock, you can check it out here. ua-cam.com/video/1QhKpGfc6Gk/v-deo.htmlsi=FndLGrNp0DE9rBW8

Forsure, I’m trying to build 100% vanilla, no mods until the creation kit drops early 2024 then I’ll start messing around with building with mods. I just can’t help but add the npcs cause it really does make the tour and whole build feel more alive.

You could place it on the porch of the airlock, or do this outpost command that I show at the end of this video here ua-cam.com/video/kL3sZpjxI7E/v-deo.htmlsi=zcRXP7hoaHPqVJy0 (must be on PC for this one to work)
Thanks! The toaster is actually just a data slate display in the display section of your build menu. But instead of putting data slates into them you have to find toast in the world and just drop the pieces of toast from your inventory and place them in the data slate display.
Not sure why, but the airlock trick isn't working for me. I've tried with all the different hab types, but it's just a no go. Perhaps the update fixed it? Is there some other method you've figured out since this update?
I just tested it and it still works post update. Are you able to get the habs on the landing pads? Just not the airlocks? I show it off again in my most recent video too but that was before this newest update. But I did check it today and it all works still.
Yeah that’s how it worked before, definitely need to find the sweet spot. Although someone did comment on this video saying it wasn’t working anymore, I’ll have to test it out again but if you got it to work then it seems like it’s still working.
Are both those your ships? Who is using the other ship or can anyone land on the other landing pad. I have an Xbox, and can't get mods. I can't get my ship to, which is an Autobahn III to keep landing on my large landing pad. Evertime I come to my outpost, I appear, but my ship isn't own my pad, so I go and have to add it in again, by adding another ship as my home ship then adding the Autobahn back as my home ship, then it appears, and then I try to go in and it's like I'm stealing tbe ship and it's not mine. It want let me go to cockpit, no crew is assigned, my cargo isn't there and I have to go sit in the cockpit, and then fly out and then my crew is there, just like when you steal the ship. Then when I try to land back at my outpost, it does the same exact thing, over and over.. 😩 I'm level 106, been through the unity 11 times and have high skill levels so not sure what's going on. This is my first outpost since I was waiting until I was done with the NG+. My outpost isn't on the landing pad or even attached to it, so not sure if I should do that. I've build in Jemison next to the water, and have a view of New Atlantis so not sure if it's because I'm here. Any help would be appreciated. You seem like a pro..😊
The other ship is not mine, it’s a cargo link. The cargo link basically looks identical to the smaller landing pad and if you link a cargo link from one of your outposts to another cargo link at another one of your outposts it will basically transfer resources to and from and the ship will land every so often on the cargo link pad. As for what else you said I think that sounds like a glitch. I’ve read some people saying that their ship doesn’t land at the landing pad, I have yet to experience this fortunately but I think I might have an idea what could cause it. When you first place your outpost beacon down it might be best to just leave it there. I know if you move your beacon after you already start building it could cause some pretty bad glitches. That could be one of them, for me it deleted my whole outpost and I had to land at the nearest landing zone to be able to find it again. And when I did find it when I entered build mode it would instantly freeze my game. Could also be due to the fact you built close to New Atlantis but I don’t really think that should happen, but neither should any glitch so. Sorry to hear that’s happening and hopefully some bug fixes and updates will sort that out.
@@MillsBuilds Thank you. You are awesome! I was wondering what the link cargo pad was for. I know I keep getting Missions telling me to link a cargo link, and I did that, but it still done nothing, so not sure if I have to link it on a planet that they are on also, if so, do I need to build a outpost on every that I have that mission for? Sorry, I've done the whole game, leveled up and did all the NG+ and now I'm finally playing with the outpost and some can be confusing to my old lady brain..😂🤣
@@CinthiaMcDaniel-Smith there’s actually two different types of cargo links ( the ones that look just like the smaller landing pad ) one cargo link connects to another cargo link in the same system with no fuel needed to power it. But the other cargo link will connect to another cargo link in any system but it requires a fuel to power it which is helium 3. So you’d want to find a planet that has helium 3 as a resource. In my opinion the whole outpost inventory system needs a whole re work. It really shouldn’t be so difficult and I think it would be better if your cargo storage just connected with every outpost seamlessly. That’s basically how it worked in Fallout 4. But no problem! Let me know if you have any other questions I’ll try helping the best I can
Are you sure? Someone else commented thinking it wasn’t working anymore and then they ended up getting it to work. But as far as I know it still does. There’s a sweet spot you have to get it on to make it work but it seems to be still working.
How can you possibly call a video with no voice over a tutorial??? Like all videos with no sound, or with only unrelated music, this is a complete waste of time.
