I really appreciate that you take time to play with the plug-ins and showcase them. I think this adds a huge value to the 3d printing and Cura community. Thank you so much!
Same thoughts, thanks Chuck !
My ABS printing has lead me down the route of manually adding corner tabs in the model. This is a good add on for quick fixes.
Awesome! Thanks Chuck! I tested these with a tricky print where one corner of the brim will always warp up, and ... IT WORKS!
Thanks a million!
Awesome . I was looking for something like the Anti warping tabs .. !! We want more !!!
I have been watching several videos here this morning. This one touches two items I was looking for: custom brim and saving settings in Excel. Thanks for this video. :-)
The Anti-Warp is an amazing find! I've been just using brims and now I don't have to clean up the whole print with a knife now. Thanks for sharing!
deburring tool is the right way to take brim off... just check it ;)
Those tabs just made my print perfect. Before I was adding a drop of glue to the corners. It worked but was messy and I had to wait around for the first layer to print before applying the glue. Thanks again for your excellent advice.
Lots of people have a problem with that and me too sometimes. Suddenly CHEP offers the solution on a tray. Thank you very much.
wonderful, I'm gonna install them both, thank You Chep, have a blessed Sunday
Anti-warp! Just what I need right now. Huge thanks to the people who create these amazing plugins!
You did it again Chuck! Thank you for your great videos. Can't wait to hear your thoughts about Cura version 4.8.0.
The Anti-Warp plugin looks exactly like what I've been looking for. I normally use a brim but on large objects that's a lot of wasted material and time. Glad to see that there's a better option. Thanks for pointing it out.
The other plugin... Guess HTML is not all that practical for my purposes but I might take that plugin as a starting point in order to create my own, outputting a format that suits me. Therefore, thanks for making me aware of this one as well
Thanks a million Chuck! This plug-in has been invaluable for my last few prints.
These are some fantastic plug-ins Chuck. Thank you!
Thanks for showing these settings. I had no idea there were Cura plugins!
Perfect, I print ABS so I usually have to add tabs in some difficult corners or long walls, I used to add a cylinder and make it 1 layer tall but this plugin ideia will be much quicker. The HTML export is also a great find, not too often, but sometimes I would want to compare a youtuber's profile to mine and it will make it much easier. Good job Chuck.
Good info and great video. I rarely have this issue and I think its because I have all my stepper motors calibrated and my first layer height slightly bigger then 100%
Great video! I will definitely be adding these plug ins. Thanks Chep
Pretty interesting!!! Thanks for the tips, Chuck! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks for this, giving it a go today, perfect timing
Excellent content Chep!!! Thanks for opening my eyes!
You always post the most helpful videos at the right coincidental time lol
Many thanks, particularly for the anti-warp plugin!
Great informative video Chuck. Now i need to go and try them out
Fantastic videos, I will download them straight away
Love this quick tips. Thanks Chuck!
The HTML export settings plugin I was looking for!
Awesome ! As always useful!
Very useful. Thanks Chep!
Superb plugin, thanks for showing us....
Great tip on the html, always been a massive pain to compare profiles !, Thanks
That HTML should coming in handy when comparing how a company slices their own files especially when it comes to creality.
Once again, here it is, the noble internet gentleman saving my prints
Mouse ears! Thank you Cura... finally...
I’ve been importing rounded STLs until now
Thanks. Great plugins
Fantastic! I cant wait to try this
Very nice, thanks for sharing.
Fantastic idea and cool content bro
Perfect I needed the anti warp Thanks
Thank you Chep
This Worked! Thanks!
Love your Filament Friday Vids Chep and these plug in are going to be downloaded right now. Thanks
I have used your ender 3 Profiles religiously ever since i started 3D printing, but i have gone and changed my printer to a CR6-SE, so am wondering if you would bring out some of your glorious profiles for that printer please Chep?
Many Thanks for FF and hopefully the CR6 profiles.
Thanks for the tip!
Thank you my dear friend Chuck
Good work. Thanks!
that html export is what i was looking for to compare profiles, was getting a strange issue where the brim doesn't complete all the way round so can now see whats different
Best 3d printing UA-camr. No overkill mods on the ender that basically do nothing, almost stock, only the necessary
Mods that do nothing? What mods?
@@alejandroperez5368 things other UA-camrs install, like huge cooling fans and cooling ducts, bl touch, linear rails, direct drive... Chep manages to obtain awesome prints with the stock printer by tuning the cura settings as we all should do.
Great find
Thanks for sharing :-)
Thanks, Chuck.
Nice video!
Brilliant!
This doesn't seem to be available anymore. Is there some other place to download or is there an alternative.
nope
Manual download only, but it does work!
Thanks a lot !
Great video, it be nice to have another video showing beginners how to draw a object in 123D Design or whatever program you use to Draw your CHEP cube. or just draw something random
that is really cool
Good to know , thank you
The anit-warp will be an interesting change to the STL versions I use.
nice!
thank you
Thanks!
Thanks for highlighting these add ons. Not sure I would have found them on my own. One question about the tabs? Did the “lift” the 4 corners of the cube and now just have material in the middle regions once tabs are removed?
Great informative video. Brims are especially handy for prints that are long and narrow on the bed and love to warp on the ends. Are there any plug-ins to import the HTML settings after you make changes?
Oh it prevents curling! My problem is corners bleed, darn main board doesn't support lin adv. Fixed curling with symmetrical flow duct. Ender 3 stock has fan on one side that warps crazy.
How is your overall view. Like the 3D view. The way you zoom in move around. Mine is very basic and I don’t have near the overall movement you have.
Thanks 🙏 did you checked out the new cura 4.8 version?
I've basically been using CURA the whole time I've been doing 3D printing. Prusa slicer is looking very interesting these days though. I know CURA is the main one people are using but I am wondering if it might be time to try Slicer.
I feel like Tom from Filament Frenzy was doing this in Prusaslicer a while back. Maybe it was someone else. Interesting someone turned it into a Cura plugin!
There's no such feature on PrusaSlicer. I think there is on SuperSlicer though.
@@alejandroperez5368 yes there is. You add a cylinder part, scale to any size, adjust height to your layer thickness, and print. I've been doing it for a month. It was either Filament Frenzy or Matt Stultz who showed it on twitter.
Great stuff Chep! not sure if I remember it correctly but, wasn't the cat test print that comes with ender 3 had some leftover secrets in it's settings...could the html plug-in help solve those secrets? I'm probably not remembering it right though.
why would you want a gap btween the brim and the print?
For comparing text files (like HTML or JSON), look for a "diff" of "file compare" application. On OSX, there's DiffMerge or FileMerge (and some paid ones, like BBEdit or BeyondCompare). On Windows, there's an excellent diffing that's free called WinMerge. VSCode also has a diff feature built into it.
I was going to add something like this.
I hate it when people use a spreadsheet to do things like text file compares.
It's like going back to 1988 again and everyone uses Lotus-123 as a word processor.
@@tinplategeek1058 I think that if one wants to use a spreadsheet for this, it's fine. I mentioned it (the diffing apps) only because, as a software developer I use this kind of tool all the time, and this could just be a case of one not knowing that such a thing exists , so I thought I'd mention it and list a few apps to check out. Personally, I'd recommend using a diffing app over a spreadsheet, but if one wants to use a spreadsheet, (IMHO) it's fine.
@@jeffb5798 I'm an ex-developer and spent way too much time back in the day having to help people with their mission critical spreadsheet "bodges". Some people see a hammer and so everything is a nail.
So it is a pet peeve of mine I'm afraid.
I am hoping to see a video about the best choices for Black Friday. I am looking for something like an Ender Pro 3, but I see there are other models that have some better board upgrades included. Not sure of the best choice for someone new to this hobby,
If Enable Support brim isn't under Supports then what? Thanks!
Is it possible to set different densities for mouse ears and normal support? Printing normal support at 100% density is a waste of time, material and energy, it's also much harder to remove.
for 4.8 profiles???
The slicer on my unit is very fast and infill seems good. I used tinker cad to create the piece. I had no idea this could be so simple. My first attempt at print a letter s became a giant ball of spaghetti. I’m sure you had one in your early days. My 2nd try the s printed fine. Do you think it’s smarter printing one piece at a time or should I attempt multiple prints at same time? My fear is hours down the drain instead of an hour down the drain. It seems to be printing without any issues.
Would this help any with ABS?
Tried multiple settings, even with X/Y set at 0 the tabs don't touch my print and therefore do nothing to stop warping. Solution?
Genius.
the new version has Number of layers as an input. what would you put for number of layers. also what does Define as capsule mean?
I think that define as capsule is talking about the model shape. if its a capsule or not
I've found lokbuild surface to be fantastic with no heat for pla, grips well and peels off easily with no effort
It will do petg and abs too but granted they need heated bed
I think mine is adhesion issue I put more glue on the bed and next one is much better. I am printing same thing multiple times I was Leary about doing more than one if there is an issue I don’t wind up twice the mess and I don’t have a heated bed. Using xyz mini davinci printer.
Nice👍👌
greetings i cant get access to Cheap website from RU how it may be fixed? i really want to test your Slicer Profiles.
i am changing to a .8 nozzle on my ender 3, what should i change in the setting or if you have made a video on this
You’ll have to adjust speed, temp, maybe E-steps. I haven’t made a video on it.
Thank you, I was manually adding mouse ears with a custom .stl, now it's clicks away!!!
Chuck when I mouse over the icons on the left I used to get the name of the icon's function but now I don't, is there a setting that turns this on and off that I may have clicked in error?
Not that I know of.
Other than saving plastic, what advantages does a tab have over a brim?
Read some of the comments. Less to remove. Different sizes, place it in specific spots.
@@FilamentFriday I did and I still fail to see how its better than a brim. You save a small amount of plastic.
A tab would go in the spot as a brim.
A tab still has to be removed like a brim.
A tab has to be placed while a brim is generated (small amount of extra time)
A tab doesnt hold it down better than a brim.
I know you use the cube for an example but those tabs were just a brim with extra steps.
Hi Chep, it doesn't work anymore in cura 5. Do you have an idea to enable support brim for this anti warping tabs??
Use 4.13.1 until they update the plug-in for 5.0. I have both on my computer.
@@FilamentFriday thanks a lot
@@mickredfox it says version 1.3.0 released a month ago added support for cura 5
This works great! However I find that even if I turn down the first layer print speed, the tabs are printed too fast. Is there a way to have the tabs print at the same speed as the first layer?
Not sure.
Speed of the Skirt/Brim is not affected by first layer print speed setting. You need to change "Skirt/Brim Speed" to the same value, as your First Layer Speed. This setting might be hidden by default, so you should enable it first in config.
I have an Ender 3, 4.2.2. MotherBoard and a touch SCREEN .. .. .. 90% of the "Post Processing" scripts do not work with the touch screen. Can you help
Change it back to original display.
I don’t recommend their touch screen.
Hi Chep, been a fan. Every time I print, the surface on where the support touches the print is rough. Do you have any guides to avoid that?
Use the Roof option.
@@FilamentFriday I already enabled the roof option. Will get back to you if it works fine!
I am using 4.8 and if I click ‘Brim’ I get a full brim as well as the corner Mickey Mouse ears.
i am having a issue with the plugin, when i add tab it has bottom layer missing. so say i have 2 layer high tabs but only 2nd layer is printed. even does not show up on preview. If i use 1 layer it prints nothing
Where did you get the plugin. I can't find it in the Marketplace.
For some reason CURA 4.7.1 is giving me a hard time with surface zits and blobs. They say its fixed on 4.8
Calibrate your linear advance
I experience warping above a support for a large surface because Cura puts a space between the top layer of the support and the next above it. I am thinking I could connect one or two points at that spaced layer but I don't know how to do that. Any suggestions?
There’s a setting in the support section called z offset I believe. Its usually 0.2 by default but you can change it to 0 if you want.
@@joelambert-beauregard4285 If I do that will it not be as a solid part of the print? But maybe I should try and see.
@@MuttakiNL well, yes. I though this is what you wanted to do :)
If you print at 0.1 layer height you could also set it to 0.1 so the offset is smaller
I print my petg on a raft and I STILL have m a j o r warping. Maybe my temps are wrong? I printed the first couple layers at 10mm/s and after the first two or three I printed at 40mm/s and all without a fan.
I was having similar problems.I reduced my extruded temp to 195 and printed at a slower speed or the first 4 layers. Worked for me - I hope it works for you!
I bought an enclosure, problem solved magically. The issue is the difference of temperature between the layers near to the hot bed and those farther. With the enclosure air around thep rint is 45°C instead of ambient temp (20°C e.g.) and that prevents warping very effectively.
do you have any recommendations to print nylon, I had those problems on the corners, thanks
do the mouse ears help corners to stop warping with ABS/Nylon too?
They help some.
Is "enable support brim" called something else in Cura 4.12.1? I don't see it as an option under supports and my tabs are the default grid.
Not sure if you found it but it should be under the "built plate adhesion" settings tab
@@cortano2878 no its like the 12th option down under "support"
@@scandalingshadows Ok I figured it out. By default the "enable support brim" checkbox visibility is hidden. You have to change visibility in settings to see it.
Any chance of u posting your html. I'd like to see it!
his settings are on his chepclub website ;)
I'm able to create one anti warp support but I can't for all 4 corners. how do I create the 2nd and 3rd and 4th one?
Click separately on each corner.
@@FilamentFriday wow I think this plugin really works and is critical for me. What other plugins do you use that you would say are critical. I think you could do a video on the top 5 plugins for cura
I’ve covered most of them but I could do an update.
@@FilamentFriday would love to see an update!!!
I just made my own tabs that I use and at different sizes..
