Only just getting into Ham Radio, and have decided to go for the 320....spent my life in engineering, but I'm not much of an electrics/electronics guy, but very interesting......
i did this on my 320,i found the difference huge! well worth doing,i noticed tho the plasic centers of the inductors poke thru to the back tho with little pressure when adjusting the cores,is that normal?,i guess mine have come unglued with age,on looking at the rest most were hanging out the back by 5 or 6 mm i just shoved them back flush, should i put a dab of glue on the rear of them do you think?.
Hi alex, have you the EMERS that describe the setup of the turret,ie what cap and inductor does what and the sequence to adjust them for each band?,cheers Paul m3vuv 73.
just trying to do this my tunner board has no test points marked, have you any close up pics or explain exactly where it is,its not evident on my 320!,cheers Paul m3vuv.
Before you try and improve the RX on a band of frequencies you need to get your radio working normally. I understand you have a problem with your RX, this adjustment will not fix that. Repair the radio first then do this adjustment.
@@vk2prc978 im not sure if its an actual problem, its just a chineese ats-20 is stronger by i guess a couple of s points receiving the same signal,320 0n the whip, ats on the telescopic antenna, seems odd but ive checked the dogbone etc.
@@paul.alarner6410 You need to compare your 320 with another 320 then you will know, but the 320 has a very good RX Its a military radio and the military demand only the best so go from there.
Alex, I really like your informative videos on the PRC-320.Did you service these for the military? You seem very knowledgeable of the radio. Thank you es 73!
Nice video Alex very informative

do the caps and inductors do different sections of each band looking from front to back, any info on what ones do what?,cheers Paul m3vuv 73

if i had one i would, still could do with the turret tweaks tho but cant find the test point and the spot isnt clear on the vid.
may wait until daylight and take the radios guts outside, makbe will see the test point in the turret pcb in natural light?was it marked L?

i did the s meter mod with a diode string a while ago,i think that is hooked up to the agc line, could that be the cause?
is test point L actualy marked as so on the pcb?
Is that coupler a 49:1 ?
NO!
is this also good tot yx?
Sorry I don't understand your question?
@@vk2prc978 sory meant tx
If you are asking if this chances anything to do with your TX the answer is no.
