Border View Farms is a mid-sized family farm that sits on the Ohio-Michigan border. My name is Nathan. I make and edit all of the videos posted here. I farm with my dad, Mark and uncle, Phil. Our part-time employee, Brock, also helps with the filming. 1980 was our first year in Waldron where our main farm is now. Since then we have grown the operation from just a couple hundred acres to over 3,000. Watch my 500th video for a history of our farm I filmed with my dad.
I started making these videos in the fall of 2019 as a way to help show what I do on a daily basis as a farmer. Agriculture is different from any other industry and I believe the more people that are showing their small piece of agriculture, helps to build our story. We face unique challenges and stressful situations but have some of the most rewarding payoffs in the end. I get to spend everyday doing what I love, raising my kids on the farm, and trying to push our farm to be better every year. I hope that I can address questions or concerns that you might have about farms and agriculture.

Might be worth keeping a spare change of clothes in your truck for when these type of things happen. It would save your tractor cab from smelling like a chicken barn.

When you rinse the chicken water tote use it on the sweet corn plot.
I know that when that hose came apart, it'd make a good Lutheran say a bad word. That experience had to suck.

Pumping your sewer would do a good job, my dad used to pump are sewer water into the back field and that grass grew like crazy!

Sure and we use lots of dry chicken litter in the fall, I'm going to stay away from the liquid version though.

I will not ever use chicken water lol you have made that clear for me if I ever plant again.
Feel for you, raised hogs the old fashioned way for 14 yrs, always fun to sort hogs after a rain, when I went in the house I would always ask the wife for a hug to see how much she loved me, she didn't love me that much :) That far from home probably should have an extra set of clothes in case of a hyd or chicken stuff bath. That stuff wasn't filtered very good if you had that much in the screen

When I saw the thumbnail I thought maybe the ac broke in this tractor too, that was about 10x worse than expected haha. I hope you manage to get the smell outta the cab soon!

It would be a cold day in you know where before I would use that stuff. If your dad wants to use it let him put it on with the sprayer then he can get it on him.

I'll bet that was fun. Try some liquid fish fert. 4-3-2 blended with a gallon or two an acre of SP1 manufactured by DPH Biologicals. Look it up. But warning. The fish smell is bad enough on its own but if you don't use the blend up in 24 hours forget using a screen. The stuff that grows in there will make a hog turn tail. Have a good growing season.

Your dad and Phil always look very smartly dressed for a day farming. They always wear a shirt while you wear T shirt. Any reason why you don't wear shirts like them?
Phil isn't in the videos , so its hard to say what he wears. Plus this isn't a fashion video so what they wear isn't relevant
