I liked the natural sounds without the narration or music. I wouldn't really classify it as ASMR, but the sounds of footsteps on a trail, coupled with the ambient sounds of nature is relaxing and pleasant. That being said, I like your commentary too. I especially like watching yours and Evan's videos to see both perspectives of the same hike.
Hi Liz, another really good video! Personal opinion I enjoyed the short snip of video with no sound but don’t believe I would enjoy a entire video of that. Fact is for me your personal narration just adds so much to your videos. You are my favorite You Tuber!!! Always look forward to your next one.
I liked the commentaryless bit. It was like I was hiking with Liz Kidder! I think a longer version would definitely work as a separate video.

I don't know how you do so many miles every day in that altitude! I've been wanting to ask forever if you've ever tried barefoot shoes, and today for the first time I spied the red V of one of my favorite brands! Bet you've worn yours for more miles than about anybody else! I only ware barefoot. And Taco looks great! Glad you got to take a little ride. And then got a night in a bed and resupply!!!

Obviously, you’ll get mixed responses, but as a videographer, I’ve always love nat sound videos without narration. It will tell its own story & put you in the moment. You can always sum up the vid on camera at the end. 👍

I actually prefer less narration. Showing the trail and letting nature speak for itself is a nice touch.
Sooo, just finishing up binge watching Evan's experiences on the CT now I'm gonna find out what it was like through your experience. I've volunteered with the CTF numerous summers since 2006 to build and repair trail so I'm looking forward to your experience and perspective.

The sounds of the trail is what most older folks who can't hike much want to hear. Add to much music and flash and I usually just block the hiker so it isn't suggested anymore by UA-cam.
