It must be the angle of the envelope plus the suggestion to take the envelope image and make it into 'some kind of shape'. Matt Baker was never going to think 'cat' or 'apple'.
I didn't think he went as far as promising that yet. I thought they were still feeling it out. Also, he made a mention about a possible new U.S. series
If you here how he done that after watching the video the planted a subliminal message by saying to him if you think in your mine red rectangle he made him already plant the seed in his Brain by drawing a rectangle picture he is very good but you have to listen to his key words to under stand how he dose it ,
If anyone thinks Derren would risk doing a trick on live TV that relied on 'suggestion' only you are very much mistaken. I'm not sure how he does it completely but the fact the 'prediction' isn't revealed until after he's seen the image and the fact he hold it (instead of giving it to them to hold) makes me believe he's somehow manipulated the image after seeing what had been drawn.
@Estebanrey, are you mentalist?? And he would do that cause it is possible and it just depends on audience management. Which Mentalist are known for more than magicians. And first off theres different types of suggestions.
Well I know how it's done (I have a similar effect I do) and without saying too much, Derren is playing a massive suggestion on the viewers here. We as viewers lack the whole picture (no pun intended) so perceptions of the event are different between us the viewer and the hosts. Derren exploits this fact very well and creates an impressive illusion out of it. So in a sense it's suggestion based. That's also what Derren says when he answers the "how much is magic" question, its all the samething.
