Love the feathers of 1/4 turn that really make life easier in setting up. Great price too!

I can highly recommend my “Frankinpod”. Consisting of Fotopro X-go max Carbon legs, Manfrotto X-Pro ball head with with a Fittest RC4/AS quick release mechanism, which replaces the original Manfrotto RC4 only mechanism. This one takes either RC4 or Archa-Swiss quick release plates. It’s remarkably strong & sturdy & copes with a Nikon D810 with battery grip & a Nikon 200-500 mm f/5.6, no problem at all. I ditched the ball head that came with the tripod because it kept slipping, even though it had a higher rated weight limit than this Manfrotto ball head. It just goes to show that you can’t go by specs alone. Not to worry, I bought this tripod for about a ¼ of the price B&H or Amazon were selling them for, at the time. I took this combo’s on holiday with me for its first outing & it’s was a brilliant travel tripod. What more can I say about it, it just works.

Based upon your personal recomendation, I ordered the X-Go instead of something else I was considering. Thanks for the recommendation as I think it may be a good choice for combination of functionality, weight and price.

Last time I saw you do a video on a product was the Induro 5 way head. This looks like a pretty nice hiking/ travel tripod. Thanks for the thorough review!

Thanks for the video . Do you think a 70-200 2.8 GM lens can be comfortably used with this Tripod ?

I just purchased this tripod and was hoping to see how it gets converted to a monopod. This video shows how one of the legs gets removed (I knew how to do that) but it didn't show how to mount it. The instructions provided by the manufacturer are worthless. So if someone knows how to do this, please offer some insight. Much Thanks.

I just received this tripod in an Adorama package with a Nikon D850 and I think it's really nice tripod. Not sure if it's $270 worth of tripod but it's not a cheap one either, yet as a freebie add-on in a package, it is outstanding!
Indeed, the instructions are a bit lacking, but not bad. Conversion to a monopod requires not removing only the head, but the platform as well, then installing the platform on the monopod leg. If you want extra height on the monopod, first add the center post as an extension, then the platform. If you don't want a head, install the platform with the 1/4-20 stud up for mounting your camera directly to it. Otherwise mount the platform witht the 1/4-20 down, so the 3/8 stud up is suitable for then mounting the head on.
