grape leaves gives the nice crunch to the cucumbers for pickling
Great pickle recipe. Will try as my beans and carrots are just start8ng….
I just rinse the beans, put them in a qt. jar, add a sliced jalapeno & lg tsp of red pepper flakes, 3 cloves garlic, 1 tsp of dill seeds. Then add brine ( 2 cups water, one cup vinegar, 3 tsp salt- bring to boil & stir to dissolve salt) Voila ! I put them in the fridge & wait for 5 days ( lightly shaking once per day).
How long in the canner?
When you boil the jars of beans, the jars are automatically sterilized. Besides that vinegar kills everything. Just use clean jars.
