I’ve barely started to watch this video and already I’ve been over to look at the motor upgrades and I’m not even a model railway enthusiast! I’m getting up to speed for a friend who wants to recreate his model railway. I have been providing him with buildings and platform structures that I design and print in 3D. Thank you for this video, I am going to be fascinated by it and you deserve a like and a subscribe!
Excellent video with some very useful information. I will certainly be buying your kits and following this video when I do my Ringfield motor upgrades.
I’m going to get one of these for my old Hornby HST’s. Can you use these motor kits on equivalent Lima models as well or are they just For Hornby models?
If you are at all worried about running a 6 volt motor on a 12v layout you could use a couple of resistors (of equal value) to create a simple voltage divider
thank you this really helps brilliant video well explained I have order one of your motors I just need some advice I have a tender witha fixing the pin which do joins the engine has a red lead do I join the red leads to together thank you Paul
Hi Paul. Oddly, no. You need to attach the red wire from the motor to the tender chassis and the black wire from the motor to the red wire that comes off the draw bar pin.
Hello, good afternoon. How can I find out which engine I need for my Lima 7140 locomotive? Do you need photos of the engine it has? If so, tell me where I can send them. If it is not necessary, tell me which one I have to buy. Thank you so much. (Translated by Google).
Hi hand good afternoon I have lots of the hornby castle + county class the motors in this loco very on performance had have a very poor amateur some have burnt out. so I would like to fit your type off motor to my locos will you be producing this motors in the Future for this model locos many thanks Colin.
I have a Hornby class 47 CO CO Configuration . so If I buy a slimline which is the only option for my loco is that working with my controller which is 12v ? any harm for the motor which is 6v ?
Thank you for creating this product please can you advise if these are 5 pole motors? Are you looking to do motors for the worm gear variants that Hornby and Bachmann are currently using!
Hi Bill. Thanks. These are 3 pole brushless motors. I am working on an upgrade kit for the X04 motor from older Triang models which will allow you to replace it with a 5 pole skew wound motor. That is hopefully going to be available in early 2023 or earlier.
Out of curiosity, has anyone ever attempted to fit two power bogies to a loco? I’m no electronics expert by any stretch, so I was simply curious if it’s possible to fit say, two 6v motors, potentially for more traction.
I picked up one of theae for my HST, ive been able to follow so far but ive ran into a problem in that my motor doesnt have the black wire that connects to the red to the drive motor... brown wire from the dummy bogie is present and a second borwn wire which powers the hst lights. Do i have to source another spey connector and wire for it to work?
I'm extremely sceptical of your Motors if you can prove they will be quieter and they work on DC ok in a Duchess I require in and indeed Runner a good scale speed I will buy some off of you would like to see my Duchess's run quieter and they don't burn out at a drop of a hat on DC

Excellent tutorial, I bought a couple of kits off you after this and fitted, old HST runs like a treat! Great stuff.

Just upgraded one off my locos after seeing Charlie's on Chadwick railway post very happy with results thank you
Bloody brilliant. Very detailed explanation. Gives me the confidence to give this a bash! Cheers and thanks.
Great video as usual and thanks for the plug. Regards Charlie.
Cheers Charlie!
Absolutely fabulous video I need to upgrade 2 hornby HSTs & 2 hornby 86

Very nice simple video to follow, thank you so much 10/10
Brilliant video thank you
Brilliant video

Or add a few diodes in series, and each one in reserve parallel with its mate, like diacs in series
Awesome, I have just bought one, thank you for this
Very useful ! Many thanks

What amps do these draw compared to the original ring field motor
Hi, great review, could you get a 9 volt motor made?

Hi mark where did you get those wire strippers from and who makes them
Michael
By the way your videos are first class

Do you have any motor kits for an 08 lima shunter
Will this work on metal motor?
