Short Session: Casting at Roodekoppies

Quick Overnight Session at Roodekoppies Dam
The session began as a last-minute change after finding Harties overcrowded. Despite the summer heat and a busy venue, the team arrived at Roodekoppies in search of a more peaceful spot for filming.
Fishing Highlights:
🎣Early Struggles: The first rods were cast without issue, but the third quickly resulted in a catfish, making for a rough start.
🎣Improvement: Things turned around with a solid carp bite after just 4 hours, caught using a simple German rig with a single tigernut on a heli setup. The carp was lean, likely male, and fought hard for about 20 minutes.
🎣Casting Success: Without a boat, all fish were caught on casts, adding to the reward.
🎣Second Carp: Caught the next morning, another common carp weighing 9.4 kg (roughly 20 pounds), also on the same tigernut rig. Despite its size, it provided a fun 15-minute fight.
Night Fishing: The night was quiet with no action, but the morning brought renewed activity.
