My late aunt used to work for Sara Lee, in Deerfield IL. I remember her taking me to work with her one day when I was little. She seemed happy there even when they moved to to Chicago.
I have a question about Sara Lee and its Artesano bread line: I've been to different states and even different countries within the past year and a half. I've seen the Artesano bread in the same style packaging in multiple locations under different name brands. The east coast US has Sara Lee. The west coast US is branded as something different. I even saw it in Costa Rica under the BIMBO name, which is an entirely separate entity. These were all branded as "Artesano" bread and all had the *same* packaging. As far as I can tell, Sara Lee is now owned by a private equity firm and not Tyson. Can you explain more on this?

@Jonathan J. Once Entenmann's was sold to Bimbo Bakeries it was all down hill. What was once a really great boxed bakery item maker is just selling overpriced low quality crap not much different than Hostess Brands.

Tyco also produced a LEGO clone brand called Tyco Super Blocks. Tyco also produced radio-controlled cars under the Tyco R/C brand. Mattel acquired Tyco Toys in 1997, with the former Tyco brands being transferred to the Mattel and Fisher-Price divisions of the company.
So what about their relationship with Grupo Bimbo? Nice explanation, and by the way the Douwe Egberts company was merged with international coffee business of Mondelez (yeah, that one who makes Oreo) and renamed to Jacobs Douwe Egberts, which is a much better name than that-mouthful D.E Master Blenders 1753.

@@wendyokoopa7048 I haven't seen those girdles on sale in NYC area since at least 1991. Online suggests they are still selling the All-In-Ones in the EU. And the short panty styles. I use to wear their high waist, long leg panty girdles under my business suits. The Double Diamonds made one feel "armored." People are so much larger these days, I am surprised they haven't tried a Girdle Revival!
My Dad worked for Electrolux which was acquired by Consolidated Foods in 1968. He knew quite a bit about the company. One company that C.F owned and I don't recall seeing in your video was Tyco Toys who principally made model railroads and race car sets. They were the one that sold the Tickle Me Elmo toy that was was a huge Christmas hit in 1999 but I think Sara Lee didn't own it by then. C.F. also owned as part of their clothing portfolio; Gant Shirt, a mens dress shirtmaker in New Haven, CT. My Dad met Nathan Cummings and gave him a plant tour of Electrolux manufacturing plant in Old Greenwich, CT back in the early 70s.
I always misremember Sara Lee as Sandra Lee, a FoodNetwork chef who comes off as a wine aunt in like, every single one of her shows. What an informative video, nonetheless.
Maximiliaan, most likely Mike's (the narrator) tag line for a Unilever episode would have to go with their first product, which they're still big at, MARGARINE (Country Crock, Imperial, I Can't Believe It's Not Butter...), which they have been involved for for almost 2 centuries.
I would love to see a video on the Art Institute colleges. They've been shutting down a lot of campuses; leaving so many students stranded and faculty/staff unpaid for months.
In the Philippines, we knew Sara Lee differently. Instead of breads and pastries, we knew them from their direct selling business.. In 2007, Their direct selling unit were merged with Tupperware Philippines and became Fullerlife Direct Selling, now called Tupperware Brands. They were also selling personal care products such as Eskinol, Master, and Block & White, Kiwi, Ambi Pur, and others. Their personal care line were eventually sold to Unilever, as well as Kiwi to S..C. Johnson and Ambi Pur to Procter & Gamble.
You should do a video on an old restaurant I use to eat at as a kid in New York called Sizzlers. Reminds me of what is known today as Golden Corral or bob evans. But on a smaller scale
I was always surprised by the slogan when you mentioned it. I didn't know that a company that made pies and bread and things would have owned a company that made socks and underwear and t-shirts.
I worked a lot with Bimbo Bakery’s, the company that bought Sara Lee’s Bakery division. You should do a bigger than you know with them. Love the videos!
I think that I was most shocked to hear that they once on Hanes underwear her and Piggly Wiggly which are grocery stores located mostly in the south. But it was really interesting to hear.
I've never had Sara Lee bread; I only think of pies. For some reason, I've known it was "doesn't" for a long time (but did think it was "does it" at one point). I must have noticed it in a commercial where the words were actually on the screen like you show at the end.
I love their low cal, low carb bread line. It honestly helped get me comfortable bringing bread back into my diet for the first time in like years. Toast a slice, spread some jelly and strawberry slices 💜 I'm emotionally invested in that line of beads okay
You make some of the best business videos I've seen on youtube! You should do a series where you teach people how to do research as you do so they can try it themselves.
Back in late 2003 I had a high school class that did a "here's 10k dollars, invest it in the stock market" assignment and one of the stocks I picked was Sara Lee. I knew it would be a pretty safe company. Part of my reason for picking them was banking on their stock going up as it got later in the year closer to Thanksgiving. I forget my exact picks for companies but I did get the highest return compared to my classmates.
OMG, you're right. I always thought it was "Nobody does it like Sara Lee." That's really wild! Great documentary too! Sadly this newest investor is running the place into the ground...at least the one in Traverse City. It used to be a great place to work. Not so much anymore.

@@wendyokoopa7048 I haven't seen those girdles on sale in NYC area since at least 1991. Online suggests they are still selling the All-In-Ones in the EU. And the short panty styles. I use to wear their high waist, long leg panty girdles under my business suits. The Double Diamonds made one feel "armored."
People are so much larger these days, I am surprised they haven't tried a Girdle Revival!
Make a video about Unilver
SAMMEEEEE!!!!
I love Sara Lee. Their quality is amazing
I'd like to see a video on Douwe Egberts. I've seen their products but never looked into the company.
This channel usually focuses on well known American brands though, not so much European
@@maximiIiaan yes however if I recall correctly Company Man has expressed interest in covering more European companies.
AJP 66151 ah that’s awesome. I would like to see a vid on Unilever too
Maximiliaan, most likely Mike's (the narrator) tag line for a Unilever episode would have to go with their first product, which they're still big at, MARGARINE (Country Crock, Imperial, I Can't Believe It's Not Butter...), which they have been involved for for almost 2 centuries.
@@maximiIiaan Yes that would be interesting as well.
I would love to see a video on the Art Institute colleges. They've been shutting down a lot of campuses; leaving so many students stranded and faculty/staff unpaid for months.
I got very excited because I misread your title as "Stan Lee".
You blew my mind with the, "doesn't like Sara Lee" part. I've always thought they said DOES IT like Sara Lee, just like you mentioned. Wow.
Loving these 😜😜😁😁😍😍
Growing up my mom bought Sara Lee cake once in a while. For a treat, we mostly had entenmanns.
I drank Shasta sometimes. I mostly drink water..
i never had anything from Sara Lee
You're really not missing out on anything lol
No . bread? No zoomzooms and whamwhams?
@@KaitouKaijuAPS army!
But that doesn't change the act that sara lee's cheese cake is pretty goddamn good ngl
You should do a video on an old restaurant I use to eat at as a kid in New York called Sizzlers. Reminds me of what is known today as Golden Corral or bob evans. But on a smaller scale
Always thought it was "Does It"
I was always surprised by the slogan when you mentioned it. I didn't know that a company that made pies and bread and things would have owned a company that made socks and underwear and t-shirts.
Even after watching this video, I'm probably still going to think "Nobody does it like Sara Lee."
At this point, they should just go ahead and trademark it.
I worked a lot with Bimbo Bakery’s, the company that bought Sara Lee’s Bakery division. You should do a bigger than you know with them. Love the videos!
I only know it for the bread tbh
I think that I was most shocked to hear that they once on Hanes underwear her and Piggly Wiggly which are grocery stores located mostly in the south. But it was really interesting to hear.
when i saw the title i thought it would be on the creator of marvel
I've never had Sara Lee bread; I only think of pies. For some reason, I've known it was "doesn't" for a long time (but did think it was "does it" at one point). I must have noticed it in a commercial where the words were actually on the screen like you show at the end.
Sara Lee gave a lot of people diabetes.
I love their low cal, low carb bread line. It honestly helped get me comfortable bringing bread back into my diet for the first time in like years. Toast a slice, spread some jelly and strawberry slices 💜 I'm emotionally invested in that line of beads okay
I thought it said "Overcooked" XD
You make some of the best business videos I've seen on youtube! You should do a series where you teach people how to do research as you do so they can try it themselves.
I doesn't like sara lee.
But... Nobody doesn't like Sara Lee
Yeah it’s a little too sweet
Then you're a nobody!
Their slogan's wrong. I don't like pie (besides pizza) , cheesecake, pound cake, and wheat bread, so yeah they big lier.
My condolences to your taste lolol
Do a video on (Grupo Bimbo) Bimbo Bakeries? They own the bread portion of Sara Lee and are the largest baking company in the world.
More like AN OVERCOOKED AND BLAND.
And it needs salt.
Your editing and style has really been refined, nioce.
Speaking of bread what do you call holy bread?
Jesus Crust!
Thank you... I'm not crazy for hearing "does it" all these years
Why did I read that as "The Overcooked History"?
Naming your company after your little girl is just adorable.
OMG, you're right. I always thought it was "Nobody does it like Sara Lee." That's really wild! Great documentary too! Sadly this newest investor is running the place into the ground...at least the one in Traverse City. It used to be a great place to work. Not so much anymore.
I'm British so had no idea that Sara Lee was a thing, but I still loved the video
