Love the Ultrashot 3's and GP Turbo's
Interesting, adidas Europe came out with new barricade parley made of fabric! It might be interesting if you could have a look and maybe test the new model too. I personally used Tokyo (white) color and it felt great. Then I bought black for the clay season and it was awful. My friend had the same experience. The same shoes felt sooo differently. Now my friend got another clay color (mint) as his black barricade felt apart and he says it feels so much nicer then black one. It seems that barricade feels differently depending on a color a lot more then other shoes

I have a narrow heel / low volume foot. Wearing the head sprint sf. Hard to find shoes that lock my heals in. Maybe a future video for high maintenance feet like mine ? You da man ! Hope you enjoyed Cali

I just saw those actually- im dubious of anything that says it is designed for male/female when it comes to shoes besides sizing and width but ill review them as soon as they come in stock at Tennis Point- thats who sends me my shoes

Just found your channel randomly through Instagram...i guess algorithm directed me to shoes...i am seeking an outdoor basketball shoe that has good spring and support when I jump...the current adidas shoe i have feels very stiff and flat...it hurts my shin when I land. I am not a Nike fan so really want to avoid them. Also budget is important. I don't believe the more expensive a shoe the better. Anyway you got a new follower. Really like the way you edited your videos and the indepth information. So thank you ✌🏻
Thanks for the excellent content , Doctor . I am playing tennis throughout the week on a hard court at least 1/2 an hour a day . I have some foot problems with my ball of feet and midsole and have a problem with very hard soles as in ASICS gel game 8 . I feel comfortable in the NIKE Pegasus ( running ) and was wondering if a tennis ( non-marking ) shoe having a similar build could be found in the market . Please recommend .... Thanks as always
Not specific to the Pegasus but the Nike gp turbo has the same forgiveness
I’ve been wearing 2 pairs of socks with the barricade because it feels better however I’ve been getting toe jamming would u recommend I go half a size up if I wear 2 pairs of socks? Thanks
Your call doc. I’m going to commit right now and break in a new pair before sectionals in a month. Barricades or b icon? For reference my fave shoe fit ever was the lav 1s with a superfeet green insole. 4.0 player with lots of doubles net play. Recently in the lotto raptors thanks to your review. They’re cool love the tread on them. Never slid into shots before but now it’s kind of cool. Most important thing for me is the locked in heel and lateral support. Close second is speed on court with change of direction. Lol thanks in advance doc. Sorry for the long read but you’re the best!
I can’t tell you what to buy without an exam but I personally like the b.icon a lot more

Excellent video doctor! A quick question I've been trying to decide on a basketball shoe, and the main two I'm considering right now are the kyrie 8 ep or the harden vol 6 can't decide because kyrie's grips rip easily and harden shoe weight can you please give me an idea or an opinion on which one I should choose for an outdoor basketball shoe?
It really is personal preference, they’re both good shoes , I have detailed fit and performance sections that should make one of them stand out for your personal needs more
I had real issues with the heel digging into my Achilles on the original barricade release, haven't been brave enough to try the more recent models

I have a extremly wide midfoot and need a tennis shoe that it is wide all over, not only in the toebox.
Do you recommend any shoes? Adidas dont work and Asics gel res 8 is ok after a long and painfull break in. Unfortunately the 2E model isnt avalible in Sweden.

Funny you mention the difference between the Barricades and the color options/old compared to new. I have three pair, Blue, White, and Purple. My blue ones, which I’ve had the longest, feel the best out of the three. The blue ones grip the ground better, more squeak, mold to my foot better, and overall more comfy. I thought I was crazy noticing a difference but apparently not lol My white ones and purple ones don’t feel as molded to my foot and definitely don’t squeak and grip the ground like my blue ones. Wondering if certain colors affect the fit? Still really like the Barricades, not as much as I liked the SCB by Adidas, but a solid/balanced shoe. Does everything decent. Nothing bad. Sticking with them for a while until something new catches my eye! On a side note, the color options for the Barricade are really sweet, ordered the pinkish/red ones on back order. I can see this shoe in lots of colors (red, green, black, etc.) looking amazing down the road. Best looking shoes I’ve seen in a long time by design and color options.
I don't believe in color hype. It's BS IMO. Especially in a shoe. I'd rather question quality control in such situations. It is an Adidas but let's not forget the big brands, including Apple, are never exempt of potential quality control issues and some blunders do exist
I’m not sure it’s the color more where and when it was manufactured- it seems like the newer the barricade, the better it’s feeling

I check literally everyday for the Solecourt Boost to come in stock in my size and not in the worlds ugliest colorway. The tennis shoe shortage really sucks and Adidas needs to come out with more colorways.
I think it’s probably going to be the same ones until the next round of adidas shoes come out
I would buy the Solecourt Boost in any colorway even if it looked like someone threw up on my feet. Tried the GP turbos but the tread was finished after a month and around that time they started squeaking badly. Now I am going to give the barricades a try.
Are either if these best for rec PB players who have knee/ankle issues? If not which shoes would you recommend for best protection especially shock absorption? I bought the 2022 shoe guide from your website but that didn't tell me this info. THANK YOU!!!!

Have you tried the kswiss hyper court supreme? I’m dealing with some plantar fasciitis and those were recommended to me. Any thoughts?

Barricades left me with pain on the top of my foot. Pressure on a single point felt like a broken bone!
If you have any bit of a higher arch or more plantarflexion in the toes they can really aggravate you

I have the 2021 version (blue ones) I think Adidas may have quality control issues or faulty equipment somethings wrong. I sent 1st pair back after trying them on, the right shoe felt noticeably canted towards the outside of my foot (was not level) I had my wife try them on asked her if she noticed anything odd she said right shoe feels very slanted. Replacement pair still felt odd left shoe feels slightly canted. I thought maybe outsole just needs to break so took a chance on them, but after playing in them for an hour my left shoe definitely has a slight cant to the outside and my foot sat lower on the lateral side of the shoe causing it to cut into my ankle and also I experienced bad heel pain more so on lateral side of my heel) after playing. my right shoe & foot felt great no problems. I like their performance they do feel quick & stable but something is not right with their production process.Long time barricade user and have been wearing adidas barricade boost until these with no foot problems. I can't play in these or I risk injury as foot is not sitting level placing pressure to outside of my foot.
Yeah I think the same was happening with mine when i got my pair last year- some weird stuff going on there
Can you share your experience with sizing variances between barricades and Solecourt? I buy the Solecourt just because your review and I really like the colors available on the barricades but I would like to know if I should get the same size as the Solecourt. Thanks

Which one is widest in the forefoot?
i wore the ultrashot 3 i whilst ago,and one of the hoops for tying the laces up front broke and it really gave me an annoying time, did you ntoice this too? Also can you wear clear court shoes on a hard court, would that help with hard court sliding and does it effect durability? Thanks
Clear will usually wear down faster for tennis applications

Did Adidas swap out the elastic lace eyelets on the Barricade yet? I never could get a good lockdown in this model with those darn elastic eyelets!

Hi doc, what should i buy? Adidas barricade, adidas ubersonic 4, asics court ff 2 or if you have another shoe in mind. I currently use the Nike vapor pro which i haven’t had any big problems with but they are a little bit uncomfortable in the toebox and heel. And one of them has started fraying on the medial side on the midsole.
And Thank you for helping me with shoes in the past, i have had the adidas solecourt boost because of you and the Nike gp turbo and Nike vapor pro, i’ve been happy with all of them.

After a year of waiting, looking, etc, finally bought the Barricades. The ones mostly white with black letters and a little orange. Most have been the 1st iteration you mention because I got the worst blisters in the Achilles. Have always used low rise socks (tins), didn't cover that part and now I almost literally can't walk with them, I can't use them, can't sell them as there are blood stains there 🤯. Such a disappointment!

I bought a pair of Barricades one month ago and now I’m sat at home with my sprained knee strapped. I would say avoid the Barricades at all cost! The sole has so much grip (on hard surface) that it literally ripped the knee out of my leg! Going for the ball at the net, my foot stayed locked to the ground whilst my body kept rotating. There’s no slip or give in Barricades. Zero! So my knee gave and slipped instead. Ouch!!
Had anyone else felt that there’s just too much grip in the Barricade? I’m scared to put that shoe back on when I recover. What shoe would you recommend, Doc?

Barricade is clunky and uncomfy.
Best is GP Turbo.
Superb cushioning. Comfortable without plastic front supports. Wide base so stable with rocking profile. Fit is tight tho so must try. Weight is defo a non issue.
So much better even than Zoom X and Zoom Pro.

Very well IMO in terms of performance - comfort is foot- dependent
These newer barricades and ubersonics have the thinnest fore foot mid sole. Why adidas ? You have such a good bounce foam to back up. Why cheap out on the fore foot. Feels like they are bottomed out after 2- 3 hours.
The SM controls hopefully will fix that
does the barricade still hard like rock ? Lol pretty scary dense mid sole.
I didn’t find them super dense- but I also like the feeling of bounce so I may be biased

I think they feel much plusher than the older versions but not as cushy as barricade boost no longer made which had best of both worlds stability & plushness.
@@Mmoran64 yea ..I just got a pair of it as cause there are discount and cheap. 100 and 10% agree, boost midsole will be way better.

Eh- there are better
The barricades are super squeaky on wood basketball floors lol a lot of traction lol
the barricade is very stiff. the k swiss is much more forgiving

Both shoes aren't really for me. I really want the Adidas SoleCourt Boost back. Until then I am probably aiming at the Diadora shoes.

My barricades are maybe 8 months old and the inside is totally ripped to pieces and heel has worn through. I cannot recommend an Adidas shoe at all.
Shoes with long break in's SUCK ! I hate when they come super stiff new. These days there are just so many good shoes where you can put them on outside of the box & go.
I’d agree on some shoes but there are still some that have a nice break in profile that start stiff and become a very molded fit shoe which I like as well
Stiff is good for the feet and ankles. I tried Asics court FF2 coming off adidas barricade boost felt nice at first but then started getting ankle pain (not stable enough) and pain in bottom of my feet , big toes.(just feel to flimsy) Still had life left on the barricade boosts so went back to them no more pain just much better stability and support.
A lousy shoe. It hurts my feet. Never come back. Asics number 1
Barricade is a disaster, worn thru on front sole in middle, just after 2 months of play. Actually a hole right thru. No support in front foot area,very hard., laceing system horrible,doesnt grab foot. No pguard like the asics shoes, hole in upper where pguard is suppose to be already..
I came from the 2016 model and was expecting the same durability and support. What a waste of money.
Yeah definitely not like previous mods- the newer renditions are a bit better but hopefully the next ones go back to the original intent of the line up
No comparison ultra shot 3 way better than the addidas barricade unless you are a pro and throw the barricades out after every match.
