This song, I cannot seem to stop playing it, over and over again!!! I'm looking back now at one of the great fathers of Israel, namely Jacob, who met somebody as a man and wrestled with him overnight ... As it turns out, the man he is wrestling with is supernaturally endowed with strength and he puts one of Jacob’s joint out just by touching him. Jacob then is very humbled by this encounter and afterwards, the place where it happened is called “PENIEL” which means THE FACE OF GOD (Genesis 32:30). Jacob encountered God who might as well have killed him, for nobody can see God’s face and live, yet, here was Jacob’s encounter at the place called “The face of God” that changed him. this whole album reminds me of growing up with my dad. He is a huge fan of Fred Hammond so you can imagine how big of a fan I am of Fred myself. I'm not a huge Christian, but I still listen to Fred just because I can relate to him singing about being a regular person in Christianity.
Fred can be so effective in ministering to his listeners because he is singing from his life's experiences. I truly admire the Christ in this man's life. He is my favorite Christian artist because of his commitment to lifting up Christ in his music. I am 46 yrs old and I don't know of any other artist that compares to him. I learned this at church on Sunday, when you serve GOD in spirit and truth you behold GODS face because you get closer to him. PRAISE GOD.
