Installing A Set Screw on a Lee 2 Cavity Mold

- Lee 2 cavity molds are a great value, but sometimes the screw holding down the sprue plate loosens up. A simple fix for this is to add a set screw. Many sizes can be used such as a 6-32, 8-32 or 10-32 as I used here. Using a drill press and vice makes it very easy, but a hand drill will work just as well. I gave $7 for my drill bit and tap and .42 for the set screws.
Most of us don't have a Drill Press. We Lee Bullet mold owners tend to have less resources. Remove the sprue plate screw on the Lee mold. Insert a strand or two of thin copper wire into the hole then replace the screw. This has worked very well for me.
Nice James is full of knowledge 👍
parabéns uma ótima ideia...
You did a great detailed view of installing the set screw . It will be one less distraction the next time you cast .
I was getting really irritated the last time I used the 358-158. Every 2 casts I had to tighten the screw.
@@243Outdoors I know what you're saying . Then one of the wood handles slips off to add insult to injury . Drip some JB weld between the metal and wood handle section and then the 2 cavity molds are trouble free .
I’ve got a couple molds that need a set screw. I’ve just got to be organized enough to get all the supplies
I did same job on my ex 6 cavity
👍👍
Hey Josh, tried to comment on TRN and wouldn't work even after I signed in !
Good tip and explained well. Noticed a shell holder caddy in the background.
Can you share where you got it ? ( nonce is invalid ) My ( TRN ) reply when I
tried to comment on the Reloaders Network !
The caddy came from eBay. Here's a clip I did back in June on it. There are several different configurations of it depending on what you want. ua-cam.com/video/lK19dMl3oi4/v-deo.html
