Great Vlog Guys them inlets and outlets can be real tricky But With a good Crew its easy as you show Loved that Song a t end of Vlog was real Nice thanks Team
I am totally hooked on you two! I found you a few days ago and I am binging. I wish I was younger and could have done this but with all of my medical problems I am long past me doing this. I have subscribed to you and pray for you and wish you good luck 👍 and will keep traveling with you wherever you go! Love you !
Very cool video, I just got back from a week in St Augustine Beach and spent a few nights in St Augustine old town . My daughter and my money 💸💰🤑are going to school at Flagler College (Dear God...please dont let her flunk out , I beg of you) this year. What a cool downtown area
Thanks for the ride along. Y’all are living most of ours dream so enjoy be safe. By the way from a retired old Photo journalist of 35 plus years great job with the video and editing. Enjoyed the Saint Augustine part. One of our favorite towns on the East Coast to visit. Just remember it’s always a pirate’s life 🏴☠️🏴☠️
Congrats on 31K. I just caught up on your last few videos during my morning coffee. I have a desire to add some rum to it while watching you, don't now why. Thanks for expanding our bucket list, I really enjoy them.
I live about 50 miles north of Philadelphia now but back in the late 70"s early 80's I was stationed in Mayport, Florida on the USS Forrestal. Spent a lot of time in the Fernandina area.
Love the content. The map course and zoom out/in is good. I like that your channel covers costs, repairs, logistics, shore activities, product reviews, etc. The music is great. Other channels should pay attention.
Another great adventure episode….. wish I was doing the same type of cruising! Those overnights can be so tiring… keeping alert….changing watch and trying to catch a tiny bit of sleep. Only done it a couple of times on a sailboat and it messed with my head. I did a 4 hour shift one night and with the salt spray into the helm I was like a salty, delirious popsicle before it was over. Good times. And yay….. your signature Roger Outs @ 3:22 and 5:14 and 13:03 and 16:59!! I love it! (Heart symbol…. I don’t do the actual symbols…. because that’s just too lame!) Four Roger Outs is more than I could have asked for, and it’s awesome! And it shows that you are getting real experience and skill … doing a Go-Around twice before trying to dock at St. Augustine. That’s what wise aircraft pilots do when they feel the “landing” approach might not look/feel right. Sooooo much better to wait and give it another try safely. Great episode -- Roger out!
Great places you go! Love the video updates. Its going to be cool to see your new home where ever that is. And then the new adventures start again. The islands?
We appreciate your explanation on using the spring line technique to depart! One question: were they your lines or the marina’s? If they were yours how did you release the line at the dock.Or did you have dock hands? 😁🛫
Lyn did it on our own. Be for leaving the dock I undue the cleat knot and just loop the line over the cleat. That way Lyn can release it on her own as I begin to move forward. We do that every time we leave a dock with whichever line will be last.
Are you guys using your boat’s stabilizers while running off shore? If so it may be an interesting video if you could show the difference between the stabilizers being on and then turned off.
It has just never been a problem for us. Perhaps once or twice we have felt a little queasy in really bad waves, but that's about it. We have friends that get sick within an hour on rough water but never us.
We always check the weather on NOAA and Windy.com. They provide the information and future info as well. After a while you can tell just by looking at the waves.
@@tryingnottosink9107 I'm single, divorced 7 years, and approaching empty-nest status, so I'm thinking of selling my house and living on a boat full time. I'm a remote employee, so I can literally work from anywhere in the US. I'm eyeing late '90s and early '00s Carver and Silverton aft cabin models. So I have a few years to dust off my boat handling skills, re-learn knots, etc. (and maybe find a like-minded first mate). When I see your wife helping you with dock lines, I wonder if I'll be able to manage a 40" LOA single-handed.
Lyn , You and Ed look like you were made for each other. I see how huge you smile when looking at Ed .
Are you still looking for a deckhands on your boat?
Was a really cool cash register from back in the day
Had a ball I just wish I had enough advance notice that I could have taken the week off and crewed for you that would have been a dream come true

You have the best music in the background compared to a few other sites.
Thanks!

Glad you enjoy the videos!

Love your videos

Great places you go! Love the video updates. Its going to be cool to see your new home where ever that is. And then the new adventures start again. The islands?
We couldn't fin a place in the islands this year so we secured a slip in Cape Canaveral.

Lekker man lekker 🇿🇦
...missed approaches are common in the aviation world...and the sailing world too.
Are you guys using your boat’s stabilizers while running off shore? If so it may be an interesting video if you could show the difference between the stabilizers being on and then turned off.
We usually use them when off shore. There is a notable difference when we turn them on but I am not sure it would be noticeable on video.
What kind of sunglasses are you wearing! Are they Persol? Which model? They look good.
I accidently left them on the boat, so I can't check, but I think they are Oakley. They are prescription and polarized and work well on the water.
The line you describe when leaving the dock is what i know as a “swing line”. In your case a “backing swing line”.
Thanks!
There is no dishonor in a go-around. The dock does not care about pride.
We agree!
When did you register Triton St. Thomas usvi ???
Wow, just found the channel…curiously, what average speed are you making while outside?
We almost always go 10 knots.
Hi Ed/Lyn:Love All Of Your Videos! Was Just Wondering How Do You Keep From Getting “Sick” On A Boat? Thanks For Sharing:-)
It has just never been a problem for us. Perhaps once or twice we have felt a little queasy in really bad waves, but that's about it. We have friends that get sick within an hour on rough water but never us.
Next time you are coming up the upper Chesapeake we must meet for dinner and drinks.
We left the boat in Florida for a while. We live near Philly, it you are ever in the area.
love following, if possible can u tell us when the video took place? I'm trying to gauge what the areas look like when you are there Thanks
All travel videos are from May 1st through July.
The differential in water density of the denser high salinity ocean water and estuary/brackish /fresh water causes the abrupt color change.
Thanks for the info.
What time of year was this trip to Fernandina?
May
How do you determine the wave action when you say 3 footers and 10 seconds?
We always check the weather on NOAA and Windy.com. They provide the information and future info as well. After a while you can tell just by looking at the waves.
After watching 4-5 of your videos, I just subscribed. Are you retired and cruising full time?
We cruise 3-4 months a year, plus spend time at the home marina as well. We live on land for half the year since I am a semi retired accountant.

St. Augustine is a fantastic place but the current can make docking a %^$#.
We always seem to arrive at high current.
So how did you get you tube to let you play james taylor music. Without paying the man
No James Taylor. Sometimes it's me, most times a music subscription we belong to.
Who is the artist? Let it Shine Shine Shine on me. Roger, Out!
What is the drink of your choice That’s the both of you
We typically begin the evening with vodka martinis, then Lyn switches to wine and I gravitate towards bourbon.
@@tryingnottosink9107 mine also. Cool Thanks
Roger out
You need to post more or stop. Enjoyed your journey last few years but losing interest now.
What’s the total engine hours on your yacht and have they ever had their Half life rebuild?
About 3600 hours. Never been rebuilt.
