How does the sender SMTP server knows which SMTP server should receive the email for the full delivery path? Is that determined by the SMTP protocol or does it send the email to all SMTP servers?

Did not get there yet, but I suppose this is defined at the routing level, on the layers below the application layer.

Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP), "M" stands for "Message", not "Mail"
While explaining, the professor said "message," but it was written as "mail".
