Hi there Gil, I just want to stress, I don't Endorse many Aquarium products yet, but the WMHB still enjoys my Full Support!!! also I'm somewhat stunned that your tank full of well fed muscle fish, is anywhere near 5ppm N03 to start with. I'll keep close tabs on the BCB progress :)
Just saw this, I don’t get the notifications for everyone’s videos for some reason, and your videos are definitely a little more professionally done hehhe 👌🏾👌🏾 Keen to see these results. How did you find the bio home went with nitrates ? It’s quite expensive from what I’ve seen and well for the size I’d need I would like to make sure it works before trying it. I still have some tweaking to do with the bogs as well tho and patience is not my strong suit. Keen to see your updates on your bcbs 👍🏼
I wouldn't rush out and get biohome just yet as results were inconclusive. I also have 2 bcb bags in a canister filter on an empty tank to which I'm adding clear ammonia like you did. Should be interesting. 🤔
Converted an eheim 2217 to bcb and another 6x6 basket put in sump to my 120 gallon tank. After 2 years, is save to said bcb do not work in bringing down nitrate. Pls don't waste ur time.
Biocenosis Clarification Basket. It uses clay (usually kitty litter) and iron to draw ammonia out of the water and complete the nitrogen cycle with anoxic filtration. If it works it means no nitrates. Look up Dr Kevin Novak for more info.
@@Gilsfishroom thanks family for that explanation. I’ve heard of him but never checked him out, because I’m a doubter. I’ll follow and see what you find out.
Yeah, I thought that it sounds too good to be true. That's why I'm testing it out. I also have another experiment running with two bags in an empty tank that I'm adding clear ammonia to. Should be interesting.
The beauty of this Ross is that the water flows around the basket not through it. Therefore it would work in even a swimming pool size sump like yours! How are your Pandas?
Great filtration..this is the best cichlid tank out there
Thanks Chris. The only thing this tank is missing is some barbs!
@@Gilsfishroom bahahaha.. I would love to see a Barb tank creation of yours
Well I do happen to have some Cherry barbs...
@@Gilsfishroom need to do a giant tank of Aurulius or filament barbs..
Of course we're here till the end. Like dropped. 👍
Thanks for sticking it out Daniel. Like appreciated. 👍
really nice filtration system, looks really efficient for large tanks, great work
Thanks mate. It does the job. 😁
Good work. 👍
Thanks mate
I'm just finishing the 10 week update video.
Great work matey, love your tank, it's a credit to you. Can't wait to see what's next.
Thanks mate.

You have no idea how long I have been waiting to put that in a video.
@@Gilsfishroom Frankly I'm impressed with the production edit (Pro-skills)
I made it, I saved it and I used it. And I dare say I'll use it again because it does make me laugh!
@@Gilsfishroom I feel important 😁🤗

Great video. in Italy i don t find the cat litter what i can use instead? I think for commercial probems.
Thank you
I am testing some horticultural zeolite clay that is used for adding to soil and potting mix to grow bonsai and other plants.
@@Gilsfishroom thank you
What do you think abaut a mix of akadama with flourite o laterit?
@@lucadonninelli1475 I think it is more of a pumice than clay, so I would guess not.
@@Gilsfishroom ok thanks regards from italy
Ciao.
Liked this very much mate! Subbed I’ll see you on your next video🙂👍🏻
This is a good sub here. Gil is genius. 👌🏽
@@tabarakaquatics8067 Thanks Ross, although there is a fine line between genius and insanity! 🤣
Thanks Jeff.
Thanks for sharing! 👍
Thanks Sergio. We will see how it goes over the next few weeks.
Very interesting
Yes, it will be interesting to see if it works.

G'day Andy, my basket seems to be slowing the increase in nitrates. 7 weeks after my last water change nitrates are around 20ppm.
I just realized your filter access is in a different room. Lol
The tank is in a different room. I had to put it in the laundry and cut a hole into the dining room. It is the only place it would fit in the house.
@@Gilsfishroom Nice. It looks great.
Thanks Adam.

@@Gilsfishroom I wonder how could I truly achieve such a thing without reducing my oxygen flow. And we know how I love my oxygen flow lol

have to unsub off of principle, I am sure you know why...if not? Watch Doc's vids until you get it.
Ok, Bye bye.
