    This looks sensantional. It's sad that fans are doing way better job at remastering that masterpiece then developers with hell & abomination. I would pay with gold to play that. I hope I will have a chance some day and this project won't be canceled or abandoned. Great job guys, I will pray for a release. PS. Please keep the og soundtrack in

      Thank you! Lucky for everyone, this is planned to be released for free (whenever that is) as I do not own any rights to the original IP. I'm just doing this for fun and to help me grow as an artist, because I truly love doing this. There still may be a very long way to go, but I'm inspired by the community and the original so much that there's no possible way I could abandon this. Plus, we've come so far already. So even though it will take a long time, we will do our best to ensure this is made the way it is meant to be. As always, we will share more updates and progress when we get there.

    Wow!! Just wow, what an amazing work!! As a long timed Painkiller fan, I am impressed beyond words with your progress! Please man, keep it up and bring it to the finish, we need a proper remake of PK bad!!!

    I think that your gun shakes way too much while moving, but the game looks pretty good. I would definitely like to play it when it comes out.

      As of recent, the overall weapon sway has been reduced by about 50%, and it will also be adjustable in the settings so you'll be able to fine tune it to your liking.

    The graphics look so incredible. You outdone yourself! I wonder how you will make or made Cemetery

      Thank you! The Cemetery level has been shown a little bit in some of the community posts, but those were when the level was in its infancy. It's about 60% complete as of right now. You can get a glimpse of some alpha versions of other levels on my ArtStation (linked in my channel description)

      ​@@MSE7EN sounds great. I will sure check. The Cemetery is one of my favorite levels and I hope the weather will be clear. I dont particullary like the thunderstorm and rain effects there in some mods since it kinda ruins the spooky and quiet atmosphere. I like how it looked in H&D btw

      @@mascarponecheeze1308 The stillness in the gloomy atmosphere is what makes levels like that shine for me as well. Storms are good for more intense situations/themes. For example, I like the lightning storm in the Dead City level in BooH as it fits the city tone a bit more. But yeah, an erie feeling really settles in when everything around you is just completely still or quiet with a fog looming in the area. I'll be sure to do this for the Asylum level as well. With it being a shorter level, I want players to experience why that place is a truly horrific setting and make it all worth it. The original soundtracks also do a lot of that work for me so that helps, too :)

      @@MSE7EN You think exactly like me - the calm night weather is what makes Cemetery extremly spooky because you can hear the ambience better and hear environment noises like wolves howling, crickets, monster roars, crying - so perfect and the fog seen in the lampposts can give you that feeling of lonliness. This is why choosing the lightining and weather and time of day what makes each level of Painkiller unique. I agree with you about Dead City part - the storm fits this level very well because you might suspect that this storm might have something to do with sudden abandonement of Dead City. So why add the same effect to the Cemetery that was supposed to be the first level of entire game so it supposed to give you that feeling of spookiness - and just look how it looks in H&D. More trees, more graves, candles, coffins and so on. Asylum is another masterpiece level because of how scary can be (thanks to Freaks and Amputees and total lack of light inside, except for the moon). Moreover it's set in the middle of the woods and heavy rain it makes it even more unwelcome - H&D did a great job expanding this level Same can be said about Orphanage but instead of demonic patients you have demonic children. The environment of this level is another bingo - dark and haunted Orphanage set on the hill in the middle of misty swamp and the interior totally lacks light and your flashlight is not working as you have only small orb of light - too bad H&D kinda ruined this level as I always felt it seemed too bright and you had your flashlight. I wish it was remodelled. I could just write about the levels and it's beautiful aspect for hours :D

      @mascarponecheeze1308 You know what, I'm glad you mentioned the broken flashlight mechanic where you have to rely on a weak aura of light around you. I forgot about that! I will be sure to have this on necessary levels as well.
      So true! This game has such unique environmental elements. I also love hearing people's theories on why these levels are in Purgatory. Such cool storytelling in the level design alone!

    It is not even amazing. Its basicaly the best thing that could happen for painkiller series. I wish its gonna be playable either for free or for money and all levels from the original painkiller will be present. Cant wait for the finished version!

      It will be free. All levels from the original + 8 levels from the battle out of hell expansion and 5 bonus levels will all be integrated into one campaign, leaving a grand total of 37 levels. A long way to go, but we're determined!

    Insane quality! Game looks fantastic and fresh. I would make the screen glowing effect when you take coins a lot darker though, it is like flashbang. And weapon bobbing is too fast, I think

      Of course!
      Something entirely different. This is being developed in Unreal Engine 5. This demonstration is utilizing Nanite and Lumen GI, although I am going to push for baked static lighting so that performance is better and it will be more compatible for more people

    Looks way better but doesn't look realistic, the stone doesn't have enough texture and the shadows aren't strong enough, it looks cartoony....... this of course might not be your fault, PK is just so old.

    i must say that it looks and sounds fantastic, the only thing i don't really like that is that bobbing, it feels very off, but i guess i could get used to it

      Thank you! The camera bobbing will be a setting you can adjust later on. You'll be able to decrease it or turn it off entirely. There are still a lot of advanced settings that haven't been implemented yet, but they will be eventually

    As an og Painkiller player, I will say that it looks nice, but honestly, it looks very stylized/fantastic rather than realistic. Overall, I like it and I'm not saying it's a negative criticism. It turned out great, thank you for the results, and even the detail itself makes me happy that I was the only one who didn't notice it. In the scene when Daniel meets Eva, he pumps his shotgun, but in the game he doesn't do it. Generally, I see one drawback - each weapon has a glowing pentagram/star, and it's a bit irritating. He also swings the weapons strongly when he turns or walks, the weapons are poorly lit, so most of the details/elements of the weapons cannot be seen. I prefer Painkiller Hell & Damnation because of its realism, but it's still a cool mod that transforms it from realism to stylized graphics.

      I appreciate the feedback! I will say this is a very early test version of this level, and this test was a while ago. Since then, I have taken much feedback into consideration, and a lot of things have changed. The weapon bobbing has been reduced a lot (and will still be an option that you will be able to customize yourself in the settings) and lighting is constantly being tweaked. This is Lumen here, but I'm also adding in baked lighting for better performance and more consistency.
      I also have kinda toned down how much of the crystals are being used here. I'm going to save them for only the really special rooms/environments and use them sparingly. Maybe even secret areas. So, for example, this level now only has those crystals and that mystical theme in the final room with the Archangel statue in the middle.
      There is still a long, long way to go, but I always appreciate the feedback and will continue to look closely! Thank you!

    Sorry bro, but weapons too dark. Graphics nice, but i think you may take some tips from NecroGenesys mod as running, akimbo guns for more dynamic gaming. You may replay NecroGenesys mod if you played, and learn some tips and artifacts)😊😊😊

      I appreciate the feedback. I have been and will continue to fine tune the lighting of every level. Granted that this video demonstrates Lumen (Real-time global illumination) it has lots of limitations and can look strange if not done right. It also takes a lot to run it. Therefore, I'm giving static baked lighting a go so that performance is better and lighting can look better and be more consistent since it would be baked.
      As for the dual wielding mechanic, I can look into it at a later date. I did have fun with it in Serious Sam 4 and it does exist in PK: Hell & Damnation via powerup. We shall see. I'm going to focus more on weapon upgrades first. This will be similar to how it is in the PK: Reload mod where you can find weapon upgrades in harder secret areas.

      Hello! This project is not going to be ready for a looong time. It is still in quite early development. Unfortunately, it's hard to even give an estimate on when that is because we only work on this whenever we have the time. We will continue to share our progress, though!
