hi! i'm a new viewer and i really like your videos, i have a question for you if you want to answear: how is public transportation (especially bus) in switzerland? I mean if you plan on working in a big city like Zurich or Geneva, is it more convenient to get an apartment in the city center or in the neighborhood? I really like the countryside but i'm scared it would be a nightmare to go back and forth from the city every day 😅 thank you! xx
Of course they will be paid higher because living cost is very expensive. National salary adjustment is always based on inflation rate, living cost, and sometimes age can play a role.
I'm a high school student from Sri Lanka and I've been wanting to move to another country for quite a while now. Switzerland seems and sounds like the perfect place for me. High quality lifestyle, natural beauty... Overall, it's like something out of a fantasy book. 😍

I just had a 21 day tour of Germany, France , Italy etc but skipped Switzerland as one person in our party was not a US citizen . I enjoyed some of the quaint towns in Germany and loved my stay in Amsterdam. What are the requirements for US citizens living in Switzerland for a few years? I am getting ready for retirement and would love to experience living in different countries . I am originally from Jamaica in Caribbean.
Wow what a helping tendency you have ...to share your experiences for people sake ...Swiss a beautiful place ..we have been there twice with family. ..still not bored

Any American people who plan or think to leave the USA and move overseas sometimes in the future, does anybody know the best countries to start their new life in? Who has opinions towards USA vs moving overseas? Is USA the best socieck country or other countries are well controlled than us? Feel free to say anything.
about the summers not being warm in your area; I remember this last summer (2018) being boiling hot in all of Europe, including Switzerland/Zurich, often over 30 centigrade in the shade, but mostly sunny (which makes it about 10 centigrade higher in the sun). So you must be a person, who's always cold. In fact, I was thinking of moving there, but after checking the temperature during the whole of spring and summer, I knew it would be torture for me personally, as I like it cool and fresh, while neither rain nor snow bothers me.
Well yes, my Turkish heritage automatically makes me not a perfect candidate for Switzerland :D But it's not excessively hot, comparing to Turkey, Italy or Spain...
Hello Raminta and thank you for you nice words! There are several actually, we wanted a bigger city and more movement, a bigger market for our businesses, a bit of a better weather and more dancing. I would like to emphasize that these are only better for US, maybe Switzerland wins against London for others, it is very subjective. I still love Zurich but London is home! Where do you live? 🖤
Hey, leaving Zurich very soon to London as well. Been waiting for this long time! Reasons: more diverse job market, 5x more social/cultural activities, active Sundays, truly international context (very important for an international family like mine), English, English, English. ^_^
@@davidepanosetti625 , thank you for sharing this information! I guess it really depends on personal preferences. I wish that everything works out fine for you in London! But what about aspects such as air cleanliness, the beauty of nature, levels of noise, work & life balance, quality of healthcare in London vs Zurich?
@@gamzeaf , thank you for your reply! Dear Gamze, it is great to hear you found the place that you like! I agree that it is quite subjective because people base their decisions depending on different criteria and priorities. I have moved out from Denmark, Copenhagen where I did my studies and worked a little. Now staying in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania where I am originally from. I lived in the U.S. for a little less than a year, 3 years in Kazakhstan in my teens and around half a year in South Africa, Cape Town where I did my exchange during my masters. Now want to relocate and find a job but not 100 percent sure yet where I would like to settle. I might end up where my job takes me. May I ask you if I could write to you a personal message?
@@ManoBurtai well cleanliness and beauty of nature are definitely the big ups of Switzerland.. low noise levels are not a plus for me, I wish to nobody to ride a tram or a train when everyone around you is silent and gets annoyed if you are laughing with a friend.. not to mention walking around on the tipically rainy Sundays when everything is closed and everyone, and I mean, everyone is locked into his/her own house.. work-life balance is excellent in Switzerland and excellent in the UK, although it ultimately depends on your company or personal situation.. but again, what is "life"? watching tv at home or spending every other sunny day walking in the mountains with your partner? what about week activities after work? cultural events? festivals?.. healthcare in Switzerland is a big, big con for me.. I wish you will never have to see a friend of yours getting a 1000+ CHF bill for being in (serious!) need to call an ambulance.. or being denied a doctor's visit to your kid by your insurance because "not necessary" to then find out it was acute bronchitis..

Very in-depth and skillfully done video :). I am thinking about doing my master in either Norway or Switzerland but after i done with that i would like to settle in the respective country. I am stuDYING international Trade and Business yet will work in Tourism sector ( Hotels mainly),working in a Hotel as we speak and trying to get field experience as much as possible in Istanbul. So i have 3 Questions 1.I know you are living Swiss. but can you compare the two country(Swis./Norway) from your experience? 2.Imagine that i am allowed to work,do they care about diplomas only or field experience is also a factor? Will i be able to find jobs. 3.Lastly would French would be enough for me to live there carefree?
Thank you! 1- I am living in London atm. I have never been to Norway but from what I've heard they are very similar. 2- In Switzerland, yes. Language will be important. And a valid work permit is a must. 3- If you plan to live and work in the French speaking part, for sure. Good luck! ❤

you're great! I wanted to ask - how did you feel socially there? I'm a Swiss citizen (because of my parents) but I do not know people there. Are the students nice or distant? And is there a difference between Basel and Zurich?
Thank you! I have never been to Basel unfortunately so I can't compare. If you speak German, especially Swiss German, you won't have problems finding friends. Almost all students speak English but as they prefer to speak their language in a social setting, it could be a bit difficult if you don't...
Hi, I’d like to know if having just a bachelors degree is enough to live in Switzerland, also what were the job prospects there for foreigners that don’t live within the EU region?
hello , i am a Sri Lankan student who has a Russian medical degree (MD) . i like to work in Switzerland as a doctor , what will be the first step ? how can i know if my university recognized by Switzerland .. thank you
Hey! I'm from India, and I am particularly interested in studying in a country with different cultures and an excellent quality of education for my undergraduate. I have often heard that the universities in Switzerland don't really offer you housing and things as such, so I wanted to know the cost, quality and social life of a student who would be possibly renting a place to stay for the 3 years of undergraduate.
Hello Khushi, you heard correct. They offer less support for students, than many other European countries. Your questions can have a thousand answers, depending on the city, the shared accomodation and university. I suggest you to check Swiss life for students website for the most current and comprehensive compilation 🖤 All the best
hi dear I'm 45 year old engineering graduate, in started I was doing job. but this time I'm doing my business. kindly suggest me how I can stablished in Switzerland
I am pretty sure as a non-eea national you will have to apply for a work permit first. But of course once that's done, finding a job shouldn't be too hard 🖤 all the best!
Do they give you a fund while you study there? Or can you at least work in the university? And final question, is it possible to get work permit if you don't have? Thanks so much
Hello and thank you for this great question! Unfortunately Swiss government do not support foreigners financially. You could in theory work but your visa has to be made in a way that you have a work permit which I am almost sure can only be up to a certain hours per week if you are a student. And yes it is possible to get a work permit. I am not familiar with how but I am sure you can find your answer on websites regarding this. :*
Really nice video! Thanks for the valuable information. I'm moving to Dubbendorf in a couple of months for one-year PhD exchange with a scholarship of 2100 francs per month. Is it enough to have a simple life?
Thank you! Well it depends of course on your standards.. I strongly recommend you to check accomodation options as soon as possible as they can get quite expensive.. If you can find something for 30% of your scholarship in a shared apartment, you should be fine.
hello beautiful can i ask u please .. the cost of education there like language, collage ,...etc . what is he hardest part in the embassy cuz im not a eu citizen of course .. and thank you for ur video its very helpful :)

I suggest you to check Swiss life for students website for the most current and comprehensive compilation 🖤 All the best
Thankk you!
Love your videos, Please what are the criteria for me to get a work permit or work permit in Switzerland as a non European.
Thank you.
Thank you! I think the most accurate and up to date info is on government websites, you can check online 🖤

I would love to move to Switzerland. I am a US based veterinarian, would it be possible for me to find work there??
I am pretty sure as a non-eea national you will have to apply for a work permit first. But of course once that's done, finding a job shouldn't be too hard 🖤 all the best!
Stoped the video at 1:36 because she didn't say a single thing yet about what is like to live in Switzeland.
Oh interesting. People found it very useful :)

wowww love u dear.....thnku for information
Thank you! 🖤🖤🖤
It is not that expensive, if you go to an aldi.
:) Even Aldi is way more expensive compared to Aldi in Germany ;)
@@gamzeaf Aldi stocks "Evian"water in CH, never seen in a german one :D
Do they give you a fund while you study there? Or can you at least work in the university? And final question, is it possible to get work permit if you don't have?
Thanks so much
Hello and thank you for this great question! Unfortunately Swiss government do not support foreigners financially. You could in theory work but your visa has to be made in a way that you have a work permit which I am almost sure can only be up to a certain hours per week if you are a student. And yes it is possible to get a work permit. I am not familiar with how but I am sure you can find your answer on websites regarding this.
:*
Gamze in English thank you
How we can get admission in medical college of Switzerland??
Thanks for the info. My mum is working there(she’s half) and I just wanted to learn more about the country she is working in.
Glad you liked the video. Hi to your mum :)
Thanks!
