It is difficult to be optimistic in these turbulent times, but, based on the patterns observed in previous technological revolutions, Carlota Perez brings a message of hope. The diffusion process, each time, has led to bubbles and crashes, to inequality, revolts, messianic leaders and populism, which end up moving governments and politicians towards finding ways of restoring social peace, through greater justice, less inequality and conditions for harmonious synergistic growth. Before they happened, she says, golden ages looked impossible.
