Well that’s your opinion. I personally like to see characters with some background story similar to mine. That’s why I love Blue Beetle’s Jaime Reyes and Ghost Rider’s Robbie Reyes. The stories have to be good obviously.
I think it’s great that people have that option these days. Perhaps it’s the time I grew up in. But I do relate more to characters like Uncle Scrooge and Storm. :)
Always look forward to these episodes. If it wasn't for Omar and the hidden gems segments I wouldn't have amazing books in my collection like Sheets and Blankets and These Savage Shores. So thank you thank you.
I think you're double dipping Omar! I think Battlecats and Wrong Earth have both been on a ep of Hidden gems before. I will be checking out Habitat and Mercury Heat tho
Ooh, good pick Melanie, I like the look of The Wrong Earth, going to check that first trade out. Looks like the book is still ongoing too. The main character looks a bit like the Fly from Archie Comics
I’m going to check out that habitat book hell yeah talk to image that hard cover is needed one big one like Saga , ready Proxima Centauri from another prophet brother Farel Dalrymple, keep up the great work
Could you possibly make a video concentrating on maybe your five favourite graphic novels/manga from particular writer’s, I know when I find a graphic novel/manga that i enjoyed that I tend to follow the writer to find my next read. I apologise if I’m asking for too much just thought it would be a good idea.
@@NearMintCondition We are just fine, thank you for asking. If you can please check his work on VOLLITION (Aftershock) he did pencils, ink and colors, amazing. Hos the family?
Hi Omar, I’m a french reader and I just got the Hawkman by Geoff Johns TPBs, is it a good read ? Also I wanted to know, I really want to read The Flash by Mark Waid but the french editor of DC Comics won’t be publishing it. Would you recommend me to get the TPBs or the upcoming Omnibus ?
Omar, are you referring to Gillen's original X-men run or his current run with Immortal X-men being underrated? I never read his original run, but am thinking of picking it up?
@@NearMintCondition Head Lopper is 10/10 for me. The dialogue and comedy is great, the action scenes are actually well done as it's action heavy. Honestly it nails what it sets out to do, not deep just executed perfectly. Oh, and the art is definitely Mike Mignola inspired but it's more lighter toned/minimalistic. Another comparison I would make is it's like Conan meets Adventure time. And the comedy is somewhat like Samurai Jack. Hope you get to it soon!
I can never understand why people only buy ohc's. Yes they are nice but the page size is only slightly bigger. Doesn't hugely affect the reading experience especially classic Marvel and DC material. Agree with Omar, missing out on gems of a book. How about indies? A lot publishers don't do omnibus.
Love what you said about not needing characters that look like you! I’m the same way, just give me an interesting story with good artwork I’m good!

I LOVE THIS SERIES! Excited to spend more money on great books lol

I’ll have to keep a list. I didn’t think I did either though.
Definitely useful and like to see some unknown books get the spotlight.
Really enjoy this hidden gem videos, I always end up grabbing one or two
I really need to pick up The Wrong Earth. Tom Peyer has always been a fantastic writer, his Hourman series from DC is just underrated awesomeness.
The 1st 3 series are great !! especially Mercury Heat.
What about the last 2? 😊
Strange Attractors by Soule
Last Contract by Brisson
Triggerman by Walter Hill
The Killer by Jacamon

Yes I sure could.
Love this series, please keep it coming!! Have you ever read UPGRADE SOUL? Underrated sci-fi masterpiece for sure
One of my favorite reads of 2019. I think it made my top 10 that year.
We haven't seen Tiktok Tina for awhile, you guys should do a video together :)
In Mercury Heat, my great friend Omar did an amazing job. Let me know if you want an interview! cheers my friend
Hope you been doing well, brother and his art is solid.

LOVE the wrong earth!
Hey Omar what’s the difference between dark ark that was previously released and this new one that was released this month?
hmm Battlecats looks interesting like an He-man animal version of it
Almost like Thundercats

His original. It’s so good.
Have you ever reviewed or covered The Sixth Gun?
No but I really need to.
