As part of the Weston Library Coffee mornings in the Visiting Scholars Centre of the Weston Library, Tessa van Wijk of the Electronic Enlightenment project presents materials relating to Daniel Barnjum’s management of enslaved people on the Barham family’s Mesopotamia plantation from the collection Bodleian Library, MS. Clar. dep. c. 357/1 (folder 1).
Note: material relating to slavery, violence and discrimination is discussed and some of the letters contain racially insensitive language.
