Thank you. This was a lovely introduction to Ekiti state. I served in Otun-Ekiti when it was still part of Ondo state. A fellow "corper" and I decided we were going to visit all the Ekiti towns. Of course we didn't accomplish our goal mainly because there are so many and we were very broke. Also back then the roads were really bad and public transport was by the tiniest buses I'd ever seen, so quite painful. We stayed with fellow corpers which wasn't always convenient. In the end we only went to about 10 and I'm not counting the towns we just travel through on our way to the next stop. People couldn't understand why we would waste our time and money travelling around rural communities. At the end of the year when I mentioned what I'd been doing, I was informed I could have made it official and had a government funded travel log that future corpers could use. Such a missed opportunity. Sorry for the long story, your video just brought back memories.
You don't have to apologise. I love your reminisce. I recall planning to visit a couple of Ekiti towns myself. As you rightly pointed out, there are so many of them towns. I'm sorry you missed the opportunity to turn your passion into an official adventure. These things happen, right?
Great video, I enjoyed the quick history of Ekiti. Just wanted to say that there are Ekiti people that are not presently in Ekiti state. There are Ekiti people in Oǹdó state and Kwara state. For example the towns Ìgbàrà-Òkè, Isarun, Ilara-Mokin, Ikota, and Àkúrẹ́ in Oǹdó State are Ekiti towns. Àkúrẹ́ is also an Ekiti settlement (Àkúrẹ́ dialect is a subdialect of the Ekiti dialect). Ìn ṣeun èye mi o.
Proudly an Ekiti (Igbara Odo) son. Why am I just seeing this? This is great history. Well done, Tana.
Better late than not at all!😉
Ekiti kete o!
Well done 👍 proudly an Ekiti lady from Oye-Ekiti.
Ekiti kete o!🥳🥳🥳🥳
Should be called state of wisdom, honour and integrity. So Ekitis are in Kwara, Kogi and Ondo states too. Beautiful piece.
“They” are not happy about our wisdom status.😅

Thank you for stopping by. Yes, we have Ekiti people who are not in the Ekiti geographical territory.
I think you still need to take some ekiti dance classes 🤔....
