GAME CHANGER!!!!!! if it's not Anki I don't want to hear about it
Hello JR congrats on your endeavors! I came across this older video and I was wondering if you can make a video talking about how you utilize research resources like Pubmed, Endnote, etc and what’s your process like writing a research article. Thank you!

Medical is definitely busy but totally worth it! I am in my first year and enjoying every bit of it. Good luck with your journey and keep us updated. I would love hearing about it all.
We did at first. But for all of us to get multiple reps for about hour the focus was the process of catheter placement. Particularly because the aseptic technique is pretty straight forward
Hey JR, Thanks for your videos. I am a medical student myself and your videos motivate me to keep learning every time. Especially of course to finish my Anki deck :D

Hi! Upcoming med student here. Where do you find time for your faith? Is it easy to fit that into your daily schedule? Your days seem really packed lol
It’s not easy, but definitely possible! I think you just have to be intentional to make it a part of your life on a regular basis (weekly church, Bible studies, etc.). If you’re intentional about it you can definitely maintain and grow your faith
Absolutely loved the video! ✨ You're such an inspiration! It's just amazing how you're so calm and composed in your life ; you must make a video on that aspect as well!!! Congrats on the published article! 😁✨❤️
I’m curious when you get time to write articles like the one you got published. As I get more interested in specialties in led school, I’d love to do the same but when do you get the time ?
It can be tough at times, especially when school is busy. But students interested in research often try and squeeze a couple hours in whenever they can. Weekends are usually good. But it can be challenging to balance it all!
@@EvolvingMedic Thank you! Balance is a constantly recurring theme that I see come up time and time again, not only in careers but also in personal relationships. As someone who is married, has a child, and is in medical school, what are a couple tips you can give us future physicians to help bring balance into our daily routines?
Oh, those days where you're just running to catch up 😤, great video and honestly one of the ways that motivate me to carry on 💛. I was wondering what is your Anki review setting? And still waiting for the video about "how to keep up with medical school while preparing for USMLE step 1" 😉
Hahah I feel the exact same way a lot of the times! The hardest part is just developing the habit which for me took a few months. But now my brain and body just knows that one of the first things I do when I wake up is my Anki and the routine of it makes it easier for me. But again, I still feel those same things at times 😅
This might be a silly question but do you study everyday? I know anki is an everyday thing but other than that I am just curious! I am an incoming MS1 and I used anki to study for the MCAT I really loved it so Im planning on definitely using it during medical school as well. During some of my interviews the student interviews would talk about taking the whole weekend off of studying or at least a Saturday/Sunday. Is this common?
Definitely not a silly question! I personally do my Anki everyday but quite a few of my classmates and friends from other schools do exactly what you said and take weekends off. It really just depends on what you find works for you.
@@EvolvingMedic I live in NYC, and once it gets to 14 f, although the temperature is set to 76, it struggles to get past 72 on 1st floor and 68 on 2nd floor. The record low I've ever experienced in NYC is -2 and my house wasn't warm 🥵.
Im just now preparing to take the MCAT. Your channel is really inspiring, and has definitely helped me look forward to what I have to come. Do you have any tips on the admissions process? For instance your statement? Or application strategies?
Hi Alex! I’m so happy you’re enjoying the videos and good luck on the MCAT! I’m actually preparing a video on this exact subject that I will try and get out as soon as possible! But I would just recommend highlighting who you truly are and not trying to be someone you may think they want. I hope this makes sense lol, but I’ll go into way more detail in a future video!
