  • I have been riding up to Mt. Pleasant Rd for many times, but this time there was something I noticed differently may be because of me riding at the back of the bunch.
Most of my rides going up Rodda Parade I would be at the middle or the front of the pack, or if at the back usually the pack have similar pace so all would go up smoothly.
This ride with Rapha RCC was a bit different as there was no enough ride leaders hence they merged the faster and slower pace together.
When it hit Rodda Parade the faster group went up with no issue, but I could see the middle of the bunch suddenly slowed down and it impacted me at the back of the bunch. I ran on big chainring and smallest cog and knew if I were to switch to small chainring at the front at such a low speed I'd definitely have my chain coming off and fell.
So I decided to just quickly find small openings to slip through few riders and get to the front.
