Ty! I was surprised there was no separate Ormsby up until now with the brand being like a huge deal in your guitar collection - glad you realized it! It’s really cool that they’re making production models in Australia. I’d love to know how they made that happen and what their new manufacturing facility looks like sometime if you can get the scoop!
yeeeeees the Ormsby booth, they kept me there half the day on the first day just explaining everything to me lol, SUPER awesome place! really gave me a different look on fanned frets!
Gotta thank you KDH for shining a spotlight on ormsby. I was lookin for a multi scale 7 string and I ended up scoring a RC-1, it’s a fantastic instrument. The thinnest neck I’ve ever played, the neck through body is spectacular, partially scalloped fretboard is insane. I’ve never enjoyed an instrument more & gotta thank you for putting them on my radar, saw the interview with perry and fell in love with the brand. 🤘❤️ Really excited for what the future holds for them
The Gyro looks like they took design from the Parker Fly guitars, including the look, top carve and the Bakelite fretboard. I wonder if they come with stainless steel frets that are glued on like the Parker?
@@jakeportas1143 I was wondering why a small town in Canada known for fresh fruit, wineries and slow driving retirees had a booth at Namm. Turns out there's also a Grimsby in England (which named itself after the small village in Canada).
I got the hype GTR 8 in dragonburst back in 2019 and it is easily the best all rounder I've ever played. Does everything I need it to do and does it well.
I think that Giro might be my favourite shape of theirs as far as their headed go. I still really want to try a Goliath though as I’ve yet to try a headless guitar.
That GYRO is one step away from being the half- brother of the Parker Fly. I'm very curious about the cosmetic longevity of resin fretboard. Do the cool fretboard graphics get obscured over time in the same way that car headlights become opaque and fuzzy? I also dig the Abasi / Klaas guitar competitor. Probably 1/2 the price, too. We'll see. Thanks, KDH.
Hey would you ever do an audio audit on Devi Ever & JHS? A lot of time has passed and a lot has happened to both parties. I was really only able to hear the story based on posts despising one side or the other so Itd be nice to have a more clear & nuanced telling.
JHS are very open about where their designs come from. The simple answer is you can't patent an electronic circuit, unless you hide the "guts" in software or in purpose built hardware, both of which you can protect.
We have 70 stores in Europe. And less than 15 for the rest of the world. Literally half of everything we make goes to Europe. So you shouldn’t have any trouble sourcing 😊
I don’t like how the bridge, pick ups and most of the frets are angles. Just looks weird af. I just can’t get used to them no matter how much I look at them
I dunno man. They were beautiful and very impressive, but I still greatly prefer these. The body shapes that cream went with don't do much for me. Way too odd. They're so wildly different tho that they each fill their own needs imo. I'm a simple man. I like super strats.
Hate to say it, but that Gyro upper body horn looks seriously weak. Have they reinforced the wood with anything? It looks far more likely to break than a Gibson neck!
Wait until you see full photos of the guitar, that horn doesnt thin out. It has full thickness it just slight twist out following both front and back bevels. But believe me theres way more than enough wood there
Great looking guitars BUT for us that live in Australia - WHY ARE THESE SO EXPENSIVE????????????????????????? I see you didnt mention prices on this video,,, after looking at your website I know why. Even the pricing on your website is very misleading, even dishonest., I see on most of your models its saying From $1000 but when you read the fine print, thats ONLY for a deposit, then the guitar itself can be like $4000,,,,, come on, advertise honestly!>>>> For this reason I wont buy a Ormsby guitar and I will deal with one of the many honest companies!.
Price for the guitars is clearly written down on the listings if you read the description. The $1000aud is for a deposit on pre-orders with the rest due once guitars are completed, again this is clearly writen down and explained on the listing. Even those listings are posted as “pre-order”. If you see the in-stock models the price is shown as full. Also remember theres two lines the Australian made customs which go $4000+ and also the korean production line which its on par with any other mayor brand who builds guitars out of Korea. Which in your case being in Australia means you dont have to pay extra for shipping and/or import dutties if you buy overseas. Nothing is missleading, you just dont read the descriptions. More missleading is for you to think that any quality guitar (thats not made in china) in 2023 would cost $1000
Oops, just realised this is not the last NNAMM video before the big vlog. There's one more :)
Did you visit solar guitars?
can't wait!
@@scottbogfoot yes, that’ll be in the big video

Thanks for stopping by the booth, always a pleasure having a chat! BIG LOVE!
8-string metal X's anytime soon?

The Gyro reminds me a lot of the Parker nitefly.
Me fave NAMM vid so far. Love Ormsby. Got a Goliath. Beautiful guitars. So pleased you did this KDH, taaa hugely!

Brian is a fucking magical human, I fuckin love him. Met him and his dad in Iowa City to buy a vader guitar cab from him in like 2017
Dat blu one behind YOu - seriously pretty top and just perfect color.
Looking forward to some time with those colorful Ormsby.
Sandblasted swamp ash finished are to die for. I want my hands on that orange one!
The Gyro model reminds me of the Parker Fly if the top "antler" was straightened out.
Really cool guitars! Thanks KDH!
🎸🎶 ✝️
Really couldn't help it, I pre-ordered a Run 21 Single-cut Goliath. That one was really a looker at NAMM.
I completely passed over Ormsby in the past but you have made me really appreciate their stuff nowadays.
Thought the banner said "Grimsby" at first glance and was so confused. 😂
I'm from Grimsby and I think it every time I see Ormsby xD
To me it looks like cadbury logo

The one pickup "Rhoads" or "V" type with that cool reverse headstock is very nice !!
Ormsby seems to be taking off well, on there new line. 🤘
My boy Davey in the background 2:17 absolutely pristine footage
Gyro reminds me of a Metal Parker and I fucking need one
Have been waiting for this one as I've highly been considering grabbing an Ormsby.
Woulda been great to see the V’s on the left. Maybe next year.

That green guitar is SICK.

I still really want to try a Goliath though as I’ve yet to try a headless guitar.
Resin fretboard is the coolest thing they have, want to see more
I'm going to be buying one of those goliath singlecuts when they become available.
Nice original design.

I like the resin fretboard headless one. I am definetly buying one
The Gyro reminds of a Music Man Bongo bass.
I could never ever get an 8 string, but that headless V looked REALLY nice
The fact the spokesman has a mullet is pretty much what i expected given the aesthetics of ormsby guitars 😂
They were right by the RedSeven booth. Did you by any chance got to check them out?
Unfortunately not, every time I walked past they were busy
@@KDH oh well, maybe you will see them next year. They are from my city, very friendly guys with killer tones!
So sweet!
that headless 8 string v is the coolest guitar I'll see all year definitely.
Nice guitars .
Goddamn these are nice! I'll have to settle for the one that I currently have tho

It's nice you like AUSSIE guitars!
Ando San signature! :D
Brian’s my homie great dude
Wow, you own more Ormsbys than I own guitars! :D
kdh, bro awesome channel... two things bro your videos are short and i would like to hear you play more js
Watches this video. Will google Ormsby Gyro afterwards. Want!
WOW !
The blue sparkle hss version looks interesting, if it had the Gyro trem instead....
😀I'm out until the 9 strings hit. "But this 8 string will look cool on the stage" :)
I really like the Goliath
Gyro? Lamb or chicken?
We’re are they from ?
Perth, Western Australia
Shortest video for the best booth.
I want to buy one of their guitars but they're way too hard to obtain in West Europe it seems.

Ormsby is so awesome! I want one so bad...
😃 as...unconventional as the goliath shape is, man it really works as a body shape!
At 1st I thought they signed tosin abasi when I saw that😂.
I don’t like how the bridge, pick ups and most of the frets are angles. Just looks weird af. I just can’t get used to them no matter how much I look at them

Ormsby guitars are from my suburb... Great company and guitars but way too flashy and modern for my tastes 😂
Hate to say it, but that Gyro upper body horn looks seriously weak. Have they reinforced the wood with anything? It looks far more likely to break than a Gibson neck!
Nah.
Its based off parker guitars for sure. Havent seen those break for as long as they been around
@@larsheuker Parker guitars were reinforced with Carbon Fibre. These things will be very dependent on how the wood grain is at that weak point.
