Why do the beaver dams have to be removed at all. Would they not be helping the environment regenerate ..Now all that water is going to be wasted. Beavers need deep water.

Largest beaver damn I have ever seen is on a private farm southeast of Petersburg Virginia. Probably 150 feet long and 20 feet high. No telling how many beavers gave their lives in its construction.

Beavers are some of the coolest animals on the planet. Such diligent litte monsters. Super cute too. Seen one in an animal hospital and the bet brought some branches and on the way the little guy goes. 😆 started stacking them in the doorway .... It was so 😎
I have beavers in my pond a few nights ago. I was down there and had a flashlight pinned to the middle of my chest. I was messing with the dam for a little while they looked down and there was a beaver about 3 feet from me. The light was confusing it it just couldn’t see me, it was really cool to be that close to one it would stand up on its back legs and sniff the air trying to figure out what I was. I stood there for about an hour with that beaver and three other small ones coming up and doing the same thing.
I understand the ease with removing the dam with a machine, but it takes away all the fun than if you do it by hand . It would also help if you gave us some back story on the area and why removing the blockage is necessary.

@photo1100-The dam is not the house. The ‘lodge’(actual name for beaver ‘house’) is usually in the deepest part of the pond created by the dam.
