@@azcwazpaxc6739 hi, it turned out that my board had fried a diode just under the usb socket, i replaced it with a common throught hole part , and it was fine.....

After connecting -Arduino and laptop- 'using USB', Go to Device Manager > tap on Ports>> if Arduino is visible then right click on it > choose properties> port settings>advanced> Choose COM Port number in the bottom.
@@cresteoffyargente8125 My cable works because I also happen to have an arduino mega and I tested it with that one and worked. I don't wanna think that my arduino uno board - the cheap one - is actually faulty. Any other suggestions as to that ?

Need serious help. On my case, the USB device doesnt even show up on device manager anymore, seems like my pc doesnt even know that there's a USB device plugged in except for my keyboard and mouse. Its just weird because even if this is the case, my PC somehow still supplies power to my arduino making LED's light up as programmed from my first and last sketch that I was able to upload. what can I do at this point?
I was hesitant to load, but I have windows 7 so I couldn't install the newer 2. IDE...Installed this driver and It is recognizing and installed sketches on my new NANO USB C. ...Thank you.👌..you do have to use the ATmega328P -not older328 boot loader...left you a cup of coffee
For the ones who are STILL struggling! I managed to solve "Driver pre-installed" and "Device manager doesn't even list the port" problems. I suggest to try the following things in the given order (since I executed all of them, I cannot be 100% sure which one or which ones solved it): -buy a new USB A-B cable, the blue sh*t that was given for the board worths nothing (my board started to work immediately after this) -make sure your clone board has bootloader, some of them arrives w/o it (I burnt it via a Raspberry Pi) +1 When the 2 things above are fine, you should see the port in Device manager, you can install the driver again +2 sometimes the board "stucks in booting" when it is connected to USB and needs reset (press the reset button twice quickly).

THANK U SO MUCH ................ The main issue with all other solutions was, FTDI driver is for "ORIGINAL" ARDUINO boards.

I have followed the instructions, but the port is still undetected (not listed)
