Foreigner has so many great songs. It's a dam shame they are not in the rock and roll hall of fame. Way over do. Check out, I want to know what love is. One of their best.
“I Want to Know What Love Is” is the song with everything- including a gospel choir. Lou Gramm said the song practically wrote itself after he had a string of failed relationships. And the gospel choir made sense because he felt the song was spiritual in nature. Have to watch the official video though.
You go Van!!! I love it when music can make you feel like grooving. Not too many reactors would show their true feelings and get up and let loose like that. Love that you set yourself free (and some pretty good moves too). I’d like to see more of that pure joy.
Foreigner is such a great group! They have so many bangers..try Feels Like The First Time,Cold As Ice,Hot Blooded,Head games,Double Vision,Long Long Way From Home,Blue Morning Blue Day..also for another super smooth song try Miracles-Jefferson Starship..YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! Keep On Rockin'
Well I was going to comment but Dee here pretty much said what I was going to, I mean word for word. But I would add maybe, Double Vision and. War with the world, damage is done.... yeah baby now I got to go hear some of Foreigners good stuff not this bubble gum radio tunes lr has been playing. Good but not the stuff they keep in the cedar chest!!!
LOVE your reaction, the vocal /instrument breakdown, the dancin'. lol! Lou Gramm definitely has one of the most soulful voices ever. Foreigner had EPIC hits back in the day.
OMG.....7th grade when this was released. I had clicked play .......looked away at the tv....and as soon as the intro played. NECK SNAPED AROUND and I cranked up the volume! Dude! I got my first kiss at a dance with song!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG.... sooooo many memories flooding in.
Lou Gramm was the best. "Urgent", "Juke Box Hero", "Break It Up", "I Want to Know What Love Is", "Say You Will", and "I Don't Want to Live Without You".
I wish we could all talk about race without being accused of racism. There are some differences between races, although that's mostly cultural, it doesn't mean one race is superior/inferior to the other - just different. I knew exactly what you meant about it sounding like "black music". Keep on doing what you're doing. :)
Met Lou Gramm in the 90's when he was in a 70's band collaboration performance at Resorts in Atlantic City, very nice guy & great singer... I'm sure I turned 50 shades of red when he singled me out to sing to though, he did find me after the show to make sure I had survived! LOL Still have the inflatable dog he and the others autographed after the show for me (if I dug it out I could tell you who else was there that night but I'm being lazy).
Years ago met a beautiful woman way out of my league , this song not only got me a date but 21 years of being happily married and she is still out of my league.
The thing that cracks me up when people say "I thought it was a Black group, but I don't mean to offend anybody!"... to me that sounds like the biggest compliment. If you're white and you can sing w enough soul and rub some funk on it enough that Black folks ain't sure? That's a doggone accomplishment.
Foreigner is amazing. There’s no way you can listen to this and find fault. You have done several songs by Foreigner and you keep acting surprised at how good they are! 😂This is a great band with many power ballads. 🌺✌️
This was from the Double Vision album (1977), you can hear the influence of contemporary groups in this song, especially the synthesizer use to emulate voices like 10CC's big hit two years earlier, "I'm not in love". The New tech of the synthesizer was just being developed.
Wow... I don't think I ever realized how much Foreignet hit as new sound. They were just always in my collection. The effect of spoiled by riches as a teen into young adulthood.
My aunt was in college when this came out. I went to visit her for the weekend and her roommate 🥰 hit me like a tin of bricks. A 10 or 11 year old kid lived this song. Lol
I just saw them again in 2019, at an outside venue on a warm September night in Boise Idaho! They were just as amazing in person as they were back in the day! 🥰🦋❤️🎶😎
Everytime I hear this song man I think of gta vice city. Foreigner had it all, musicianship, vocal and smooth content..love this song and love the reaction my man.
Van! Grown folks music is right….I was a student in the 8th grade with the sounds of Foreigner!….and Lou has pipes that crosses all color boundaries…Nice!
I love you brother you always make me smile!!! Your right this is smooth !!! Great song to drive to at night with the windows down on along trip with your girl next to you
i remember when this song came out, i remember buying the 45 at harmony house, and later the LP. i think in my younger years i've been known to stand and maybe sway a bit.. so that dance of yours definately gets a thumbs up from me!
Van I just watched it again Dam I just love your reaction videos and man you can move. You are so wonderful to watch it KEEP DANCING! Your Fly Love U Van Keep Rocking ❣️
I don't find your comment to be racist. I'm 56, white skin covering me and keeping all my inside in place. Peel back and we are all the same damn color inside. I agree and I like your reactions alot. Thank you Sir. Giving respect to a Man who could probably be young enough to be my Son. 🌿
Ohhhhh, this song!!! Hubby has played this for me so many times!! LOVED your reaction, Van!! This song is quite seductive when played purposely for someone!! I know!! Long story for us... (short version) we met as teens in 1981, his brother was a friend of mine, we each married other people, had kids, marriages ended. Fast forward to 1995, reconnected for a few months but I was a hot mess going through an ugly divorce. We connected again in the summer of 1997 after 2 years with NO contact at all... great friendship built while we each secretly wanted more. November 5, 1997 he risked the friendship by kissing me one evening. When I say my knees went weak I am NOT exaggerating!! It was a "now or never" situation, he said later. We have been together ever since, married August of 1999, and he still makes my knees weak!!
Van you crack me up! Lots of song make my drawers come off!
🤣 same!🤫😆
Throw'em girl!! Too funny🤣
I think this is the first time reading UA-cam comments actually got me excited.... Ladies now.... STOP IT..!! LOL

Yeah, but GreenDay... is in the RRHoF, and they're way more influential than Foreigner. Not!!!
No reason for them not to be in R&R Hall of Fame.A shame for sure
How is that possible
RnRHOF hasn't been relevant in years since ABBA was inducted
The HOF IS A JOKE.
Lou Gramm is one of the most underrated singers of all time in my opinion. Excellent vocals👍
AGREED

He already reacted to it in Nov 2021! ua-cam.com/video/u0aRkPfmbcQ/v-deo.html
Thank You!
@@LFRFAMILY - I just found that out today! I thought you just started your Foreigner journey. My bad, I’ll go back and watch it!!
He gave his life to God at or around 92 so even though I believe this was earlier it was definitely in the back of his mind.
1982 graduate got to experience all this music LIVE!
Classic song. Those haunting keys
You go Van!!! I love it when music can make you feel like grooving. Not too many reactors would show their true feelings and get up and let loose like that. Love that you set yourself free (and some pretty good moves too). I’d like to see more of that pure joy.
Foreigner 4 is a killer album.
Greatest voice ever. Thank you Lou Gramm. In my day the ladies loved him.

Foreigner is a great rock band! With plenty of hits.
Lou Gramm was the best. "Urgent", "Juke Box Hero", "Break It Up", "I Want to Know What Love Is",
"Say You Will", and "I Don't Want to Live Without You".
And that’s just in the ‘80s!! Go back to their first album, Foreigner, their second, ‘Double Vision’, and their third, ‘Head Games’
Yesss, I don't want to live without you

I understand exactly too.
It’s just a man’s song, any color and yes there are differences but I don’t believe so in this song
It has a soul sound, like Michael McDonald. I think that’s what he means.
Def a Motown feel to the song like R&B more than Rock n Roll(who's foundation was heavily influenced by R&B).
I absolutely love Foreigner!!!❤
Love this song! Van pass it on. Classics never go out of style🎶🎶
Great choice I love Foreigner great song beautiful and very emotional, awesome song.👍❤️😢.
Foreigner is such an underrated band. This came out when I was in 6th grade and it’s still a favorite.
Oh yes! We slow danced to this one, parties, dances.....
You definitely hit the nail right on the head with "SMOOTH ". it's such a great song.
Yes I'm ready for this one
Their concert was awesome!!! I saw them back in 80's!!!
I have loved this group for years. They are “The Greatest”. I’m old now and they transport me back to my 20’s. So love them!!!
Wishing there was a love button because I am loving your smooth groove. Get it, Van.

That was where his influence musically lies. I think he would probably see that as a compliment as a musician myself I would!
One of my favorites !!
Great tune .
THAT BEAMING SMILE SAYS IT ALLLLL!!!😂 GO VAN, GO VAN!!!❤❤
Love Foreigner ❤️ Van I love watching you doing your reaction video. You can tell music 🎵 moves your soul. Love ❤️ You
Straight 10’s. The song, the reaction and the dancing. Loved it.

5:49 - Multiple layers there. Very sophisticated production, on a level rarely seen since
Another Power Ballad from the 80's and still sounds great!
My aunt was in college when this came out. I went to visit her for the weekend and her roommate 🥰 hit me like a tin of bricks. A 10 or 11 year old kid lived this song. Lol
Go VAN! Great song! My favorite! Great reaction! 💚
Van, most of Foreigner's songs are hits. Lou Gramm was irreplaceable! 70's is where it's at! So much diversity in the music!

This track isn't just smooth, but subtle. Quiet horns, backup singers whispering, the whole deal.
Great production
That a good point. The lyrics are not corny I think because it matches the tone and mood of the song so perfectly. One of my favorite songs ever
Van, you are quite correct! This song DID make my drawers come off-September, 1983 😂😂😂

Foreigner is one of the best bands
Some our their songs will get you the all the girls
This was my first slow dance song at a high school dance when I was 16. Forty years later, I remember that dance and the dreamy boy I danced with.
This song was played at every school dance in the 80s and on every mix tape given to a girl
Beautiful helping for 25 years
I remember this song from the original footloose.Jukebox Hero and feels like the first time are also good.
i remember when this song came out, i remember buying the 45 at harmony house, and later the LP.
