Tim ..you still out back drillin props ? ..Tim ? Great vid ! LOVE my 52" Slick 580 in the Yeller color scheme .. MAGIC ! my other planes have been sitting for the most part ..don't get me wrong , I love ALL my Extreme flight planes . I find the 52" Slick 580 to be perfect in size .. I love love love all my 48" EXP's , wanted something bigger , but not quite 60" ...Ka- pow ! along comes the 52's from Extreme flight! Assembly was a lot of fun , between seeing this beauty take shape to the self aligning horizontal stab... wow , this thing is SO nice from box to field . Hats off to ALL that were involved in the creation of this kick ass airframe ! I was going to order the 52" extra next , and at some point the Extra will be in my hangar , but for now another Slick 580 is slated for delivery at the end of the week ( First week of FEb 2018 )
Hi Tim Grate flying 👍 and skill just a quick question since I got a slick 580 86” and calls it for 65cc or 65 rimefire/12s Can I use my Eflite 160 with 8 or 9 s ? Thanks in advance and happy flying
Hey peeps... I'm 16 and I was born with really slow reflexes. After picking up aerobatics, I'm now learning precise flying. One skill that I fail to acquire is landing slowly. Yesterday I snapped two landing gears while trying to land slowly. Normally I'd comedown like an airliner but almost every time, I'd overshot the runway. Now I'm left with two legless planes. Also I can never harrier without severe wing rock. Time to fly high wings again.
Kimchi Koalaa sorry to hear but sounds like possibly a set up issue. A more neutral center of gravity will definitely help reduce wing rock as will finding the right angle of attack for your particular plane. Good luck and keep trying!!
Awesome! Great video! I have the same motor, prop, and esc in an old 3dhs 330lt. Plenty of power. But the motor gets really hot. Any special esc settings? Is it a standard falcon prop or Carbon?
Supa, you with your big experience, can you tell me, carbon propeller is better than wood, considering same size.... for example, both 17x6, wood and cf, same manufacture, thank you
Hi I am looking at buying the same power system you are using. With (2) Pulse 45c 3300mah 6s LiPos. How many minutes of flight time did you get with your set up.
I set my timer for 4 minutes and 30 seconds and come down with 20% in my packs. Will have buddies fly the same 4 minutes and 30 seconds and they'll come down with 40% left. Really has a lot to do with throttle management...
Thanks that's a good starter point for me. I know that everyone can come out with different numbers after each flight. I just like the extra power that a brushless setup makes. Have a great day and thanks for the fast response.
My hero supa tim flyen that slick with rubber band power only my hero could pullthat off he is getting around the same flight time as electric with a rubberband remarkable
It's really designed to be a lighter setup but I flew one with the DA35 as well and it was more power than anyone would ever need on a plane this size!! Anything more would make the CG too nose heavy and sacrifice how nimble it really is.
I usually start off with the same rates on literally everything aerobatic and then fine tune from there: Ailerons 38-39 deg, Elevator 55 up and down, rudder matched to the cutout on the elevator. With Spektrum 45-50% expo on all surfaces.
Just bought the 74 laser with Xpwr 35cc and edge 120hv and i have a question about the battery connectors. Do you use EC5 connectors when running batteries in series? Are they rated for 120A, and do they spark at all when plugging in? Thanks
I absolutely use EC5's on all my 6s/12s setups. Can't say what they are technically rated for but even on my XPWR 60cc propped up and pulling 150a continuous connectors are cool to the touch at the end of the flight.
Correct me if I am wrong, ... with the 12s setup you can use a smaller ESC than with the 8s setup. I guess with higher voltage, you run less current and your lipos don't work as hard therefore they will last longer. I wonder how flight times compare. I am stacking up on 6s 3000 to 3300mah lipos.. perfect for 60" planes, 80mm EDF jets, paired for 74" planes and 600 size helis.
Killer flight, Tim. That plane is dialed in as usual for you. Killer setup for sure. Looks fun as heck :*)
Wow you threw everything at that plane, and it absolutely ripped!! I want mine to get here already!!
Nah, just everything I could remember that late in the day... :-)
@@supatimhanstine yeah ok... you fly that thing very well.
Great flying Tim!!!!!!!!
very nice Tim, as always

For the information for the quick reply I really appreciate it gorgeous gorgeous

Kimchi Koalaa keep ur spirits up and if ur getting a ton of wing rock ad a lil Expo to ur ailerons and shift ur balance a lil forward
Old video but great flying. Do those Savox servos fit without widening the servo hole? EF recommends the MKS but have always liked Savox.
Awesome! Great video!

any clue how much it weighs with battery's ready to fly.
What is the largest engine you you could fit in there?
It's really designed to be a lighter setup but I flew one with the DA35 as well and it was more power than anyone would ever need on a plane this size!! Anything more would make the CG too nose heavy and sacrifice how nimble it really is.
Thanks. I am excited to see you at monster fest this year.:)
I was planning on it but committed to a buddy's destination wedding that weekend. Have fun for me though!
Hey Tim, we had to move MonsterFest up a week? Do you think you could come then?
I would have crashed at least 8 times in the first 2 minutes!Insane!
Did u Fly with sth. Like a powerbox?
nice flying what kind of flight times are you getting?
5-5.5 minutes of mixed flying. More with 3700's though for sure!
Thanks, have you flown the Laser and if so how do they compare?
Where is this?
Mt. Ranier Club in Roy, WA.
what are your rates and expos for the surfaces?

how the hell you do the blander in knife edge position ?I don't know the official name of it at: 3:59
and is the esc big enough for 12s and the xpwr 30cc??
Yes, the 12s Castle Edge 80A HV is plenty.
thank you!😊

does the slick need only 4 servos?????
Yes.
ok thanks man👌
Relaxing? I don't think so. Nice Fly😃
Mxe
Et vous appelez ça un décollage ??? complètement débile, ce genre de vol.
