So happy to see a really good keys cover of this track week done. Nailed all the chords and arrangement. Yes, I liked your bass playing but it was the keyboards that really blew me away. Did you write up the arrangement yourself? Excellent job
Thank you! Yes, the bass is great but the Keyboards more great! Geoff Downes used a lot of different sounds in the Keyboards! I transcribed the Keyboards parts to sheet music, the bass wasn't necessary.
Sorry, I don't receive the notifications of the answers of the comments, I don't know why, so I'm reading your comment 11 months later! Thanks! I made 2 Asia songs after, and 2 for UK, an hommage to the late John Wetton ua-cam.com/play/PLeaxYvmHlAZ05I6EnwOFmXCxYIhZJ3NfF.html
Amazing job on both keys and bass. I am very interested in the notes played on the keyboard starting at 3:29 and going to about 3:31. Cleary this passage is over a D major chord and it sounds like 14 appregiated notes are played in a pattern of 4 then 4 more and then 6. It looks like the first note is high A then you move to the F# a minor third and appregiate a D chord for the first four notes. Then it looks like maybe that descending pattern is continued for the next four notes but starting with the next lower note in the D major chord (F#). Is there any way you can tell us what all these notes are. The last set of six notes sounds more complex as it sounds like the pattern is not a simple set of descending notes but again I suspect that all of those notes are also from the D major chord. This part of the song reveals the true genius of Geoff Downes. It separates the men from the boys. Thanks for a great video and keep posting more!!
Hello! Thanks for the comment, yes, is D major chord, in the lower keyboard I'm making F shap - A - D (Upper note D) and in the high keyboard I'm making F sharp and I started the D major arpeggio in A, for the number of notes I don't know, I heared like that and I maked it "At feeding" 🤣 I recorded the keyboards in 2 takes and in the first take I missed that and I recorded again from the beginning! Before did that I was thanked that Geoff Downes doesn't play so much but no, what an amazing keyboard player he's! And play with many different sounds, I already make 2 of Asia and 2 of Yes were he played (Drama album) and is not easy to play!
Thank you for this!
You're welcome 😬
Nice job, Christian!
Thanks! A hard work with the Keyboards sounds change there!
Awesome! One of my favorite Asia songs. Sounds great! Thank you for posting. I hope we can play UK and Asia together someday!
Ah, you're drummer? Thanks!
@@christiancazabonne yes, but mostly playing bass and keyboards in bands now.
@@dmanster I play bass and Keyboards and a little bit of guitar

@@christiancazabonne Wow - you did a sensational job. Best cover rendition of the song on UA-cam.
