  • Hi, in this video I'm going to be giving a quick flip through of English 8 homeschool Abeka curriculum. I hope this is helpful. This is for Video streaming.
And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
    Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Thank you so much for sharing a flip through❤I’m debating on Abeka or BJU for my upcoming middle schooler.

Hope it helped, thank you for watching! I had been debating between Abeka and BJU (for 8th grade) as well. I have personally never used BJU but I hear its good. We ultimately decided with Abeka because its a great all around curriculum.

@@graciousblessingshomeschool I have used Abeka for grade 4, but the videos were too distracting at the time. I like the Abeka layout more than the BJU for middle school. My daughter did learn a lot from the short time she did it. Maybe she will have a better experience since she will be older.

We did videos for Abeka 1-3 grade and then 4-7 parent led but decided to go back to video's for 8th and above. We had tried to switch in 6th grade but just came back to Abeka

Do you have students do homework at NIGHT or do they work on it during the day? We can't get thru a full day because my boys does it during the day.

I have a schedule written out, and I have a specific homework time scheduled for that very reason. we used to do homework right after the subject but it made the day seem longer. So now we will complete all our subjects first, then homework. Once we are done with all subjects and homework, chores.. my son has the whole rest of the day (it seems to be motivation). Sometimes in between subjects, (only if the video finishes early) he'll work on some homework assignments; but just until the next subject is scheduled to start. Hope that makes sense.
